The aim of this book is to give you a different perspective to single life and to help you embrace your single journey as you hope to embrace the marriage journey. The book is about finding the silver lining in the seemingly cloud of single life and letting that lining trump the cloud until the gloss of your single life is evident to the world. This book will move you to the front seat of your single life, have you switch to cruise mode, and soar the length and breadth of singleness in confidence. This book will make you laugh, get you thinking, and ultimately, move you to action that will birth the change you always hoped for.

Book excerpt: From Ross Mathews, the nationally bestselling author of Man Up!, judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race, and alum of Chelsea Lately, comes “a delightful mix of sweet and sour celebrity experiences” (Shelf Awareness) in this hilarious and irreverent collection of essays. Pretend it’s happy hour and you and I are sitting at the bar. I look amazing and, I agree with you, much thinner in person. You look good, too. Maybe it’s the candlelight, maybe it’s the booze. Either way, let’s just go with it. Keep this all between you and me, and do me a favor? Don’t judge me if I name drop just a little. Television personality Ross Mathews likes telling stories. He was always outrageous and hilariously honest, even when the biggest celebrity he knew was his favorite lunch lady in the school cafeteria. Now that he has Hollywood experience—from interning behind the scenes at The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to judging RuPaul’s Drag Race—he has a lot to talk about. In Name Drop, Ross dishes about being an unlikely insider in the alternate reality that is showbiz, like that time he was invited by Barbara Walters to host The View—only to learn his hero did not suffer fools; his Christmas with the Kardashians, which should be its own holiday special; and his news-making talk with Omarosa on Celebrity Big Brother, which, as it turns out, was just the tip of the iceberg. Holding nothing back, Ross shares the most treasured and surprising moments in his celebrity-filled career, and proves that while exposure may have made him a little bit famous, he is still as much a fanboy as ever. Filled with “charmingly told” (Booklist) tales ranging from the horrifying to the hilarious—and with just the right “Rossipes” and cocktails to go along with them—Name Drop is every pop culture lover’s dream come true.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THEY ONLY CHANGED HIS NAME is a fictionalized presentation of selected biographical events in the life of Bernard E. Baumbach (1892-1981). It begins with an imaginative characterization of the circumstances that provoked his then unmarried father to emigrate from Germany in 1883 with an older brother. They dreamed of becoming wealthy in the developing oil fields of Northwestern Pennsylvania. When he was seventeen years old, Bernard ventured to Central California with Earl, a double-cousin. They, too, had dreamed of becoming wealthy. For them, it was to be as employees of The Standard Oil Company of California. Their adjustments to their new circumstances were eased because of the help provided by Bernards older brother, Albert, who had made that same trip two years earlier. The story chronicles his life as he matured into manhood which, at first, was a foreign country. He grew up in a richly religious German neighborhood on the outskirts of Oil City, PA. Central California was strange also because there were no wooded hills and rushing rivers. The desert-like weather was yet another contending factor and the culture of California that provoked individuality and independence was daunting. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps on May 22, 1918 and served as a corporal in the Shore Patrol in France for four month prior to the Armistice and for eight months following. Three months later, he married Cordulla Julia Charlotte Becker of Pasadena, CA. He continued with Standard Oil of California until his retirement while garnering an exemplary record for safety as a driller. The centerpiece of the story, however, is that of family: his family on Dutch Hill in the Cornplanter Township in PA; Julias family in Pasadena, CA; and Julias and his family of five children in Anaheim, CA.

Book excerpt: Learn to listen for the ideal name! The Perfect Baby Name is the first book of its kind-providing parents with a creative approach to selecting first and middle names that sound good with readers' surnames. A good combination of names is pleasing to the ear, easy to remember, and can help a child be popular and successful in life. Utilizing the techniques found in poetry and phonetics, parents will discover how to examine a surname by the sum of its parts-and match it with the perfect first name. With this unique new method, parents can choose the baby name that everyone is looking for: the perfect one! Here's how it works with the surname Green: Break down the sounds: G, R, long E, and N. These are the four different sounds (or phonemes) in that name. Now refer to those four different lists in the back of the book. The G list has names like Hugo and Morgan... The R list has Rex and Aurora... The E (long) list, Eli and Alicia... The N list, Nathaniel and Lindy... All of these names sound good with the surname Green, so now it's just a matter of personal preference. Readers can scan the lists for the name they like best and choose the perfect match!

Now Violet seeks revenge on those who tore her family apart. Readers will be instantly transported back in time in this dark and gripping novel! It's been a year since the Salem Witch Trials ended, and while the townspeople try their best to act like nothing happened, thirteen-year-old Violet simply can't, as everything she held dear was ripped away from her. Her mother, Tituba, was accused of witchcraft by Betty and Abigail Parris, two girls Violet had grown up with and regarded as sisters. And instead of denying those allegations, Tituba had confessed to the crimes. But why? Her mother would never have done the wicked acts she was charged with. Would she? Once the remaining accused of witchcraft are pardoned, Violet inquires about her missing parents, only to learn that Reverend Parris has sold them to a man who took them north. Now filled with rage and wanting retribution, she comes across Tammy Younger and Elizabeth Prince, two girls who're also seeking vengeance amid all this turmoil. Together, the three form a coven, signing their names to the Devil's book, and they find solace in the newness and excitement of the magic they're practicing. But once the magic grows darker and forges a destructive path through their community, will Violet achieve the closure she longs for, or will the darkness consume them all? This historical, powerful story of family, revenge, and reconciling is a can't-miss novel from Amanda Marrone.
