Book Synopsis I Know How to Set Goals so Why Don't I Achieve Them? by : Nick Hall PhD
Download or read book I Know How to Set Goals so Why Don't I Achieve Them? written by Nick Hall PhD and published by Gildan Media LLC aka G&D Media. This book was released on 2018-11-06 with total page 82 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Millions of people set goals every year, only to fall short of achieving them (if they ever begin at all) over and over again. There are scores of books on how to set goals, but few if any that deal what to do when your best laid plans never materialize. In this cutting-edge book by Dr. Nick Hall, I Know How to Set Goals, So Why Don't I Achieve Them?, you'll learn the latest in neuroscience and psychology on how to make sure you reach every goal you set. In order to achieve goals, you must begin by removing, or at least minimizing, potential impediments to success. There are many, however, the most crippling are those that reside within your mind. Granted, changes in the economy, the actions of others, and unexpected obstacles can derail even the most worthy plans despite the best intentions. But they pale in comparison to the impact your thoughts have. That's because you don't respond to reality. You respond to a mental image of reality. It is the image that gives rise to emotion, which in turn will motivate you to approach or avoid. We tend to approach those things associated with positive emotions such as love and joy, and avoid those linked with negative emotions such as disgust and sadness. In addition, the image is driving the endocrine and autonomic nervous system pathways, which provide the biological foundation of the entire stress response. This is important to understand because it enables you to always have control over the impact events have upon your mental and physical well-being. You can't always control external events. But after reading this book, you'll learn that you can always exert a measure of control over your perception of those events.

However, I had many experiences that I thought I would share, since the idea of seeing spirits have become conversational. I remember the first time I witness something no one else could see; I was only a little girl. I didnt understand what I was witnessing. However, as I became of age and every time I witness something that wasnt there, I assumed I was going crazy. Nevertheless, the more stories I heard of spirits and that other people was experiencing the same thing I was. I know longer believed I was curse. However, over time I assumed that if I would pretend I didnt see anything. They would go away. Nevertheless, that didnt happen. I cant say that all my days of seeing spirits was bad experience some were good. While reading my book of chilling night stories Im not sure if you felt my book was fiction or not. Nevertheless, they were real experience with a little added affects. Out of all my experiences, the event that still haunts me on occasion is the devil. When I was living an ungodly life, I never experience such an event like that. However, when I decided to turn my life over to God, he appeared out of nowhere. The story that holds true to my heart is the phone call from my brother. When I lost my brother, my life had ended. I no longer wanted to exist without him. However, that phone call gave me the opportunity to see that he was happy. No one wants to loss a love one and no one wants to hear that his or her love one has moved on to a better place. However, his phone call allowed me to believe that they do. I hope you enjoyed reading about my ghostly experience. Even though it felt good to finally, share my experiences. It brought back many memories. In addition, I found myself not being able to sleep with the light off.

You might be crushed by shame over your mental illness, only to be told by well-meaning Christians to “choose joy” and “pray more.” So you beg God to take away the pain, but nothing eases the ache inside. As darkness lingers and color drains from your world, you’re left wondering if God has abandoned you. You just want a way out. But there’s hope. In I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die, Sarah J. Robinson offers a healthy, practical, and shame-free guide for Christians struggling with mental illness. With unflinching honesty, Sarah shares her story of battling depression and fighting to stay alive despite toxic theology that made her afraid to seek help outside the church. Pairing her own story with scriptural insights, mental health research, and simple practices, Sarah helps you reconnect with the God who is present in our deepest anguish and discover that you are worth everything it takes to get better. Beautifully written and full of hard-won wisdom, I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die offers a path toward a rich, hope-filled life in Christ, even when healing doesn’t look like what you expect.
Book Synopsis San Camilo, 1936 by : Camilo José Cela
Download or read book San Camilo, 1936 written by Camilo José Cela and published by Duke University Press. This book was released on 1991 with total page 334 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Widely regarded as one of the best works by the winner of the 1989 Nobel Prize for Literature, San Camilo, 1936 appears here for the first time in English translation. One of Spain's most popular writers, Camilo José Cela is recognized for his experiments with language and with difficult subject matter. In San Camilo, 1936, first published in 1969, these concerns converge in a fascinating narrative that is as challenging as it is rewarding, as troubling as it is compelling. A story of history as it happens, by turns confusing and startingly clear, echoing with news and rumors, defined by grand gestures and intimate pauses, the novel leads the reader into the ordinary life of extraordinary times. Beginning on the eve of the Spanish Civil War, San Camilo, 1936 follows a twenty-year-old student's attempts to sort out his private affairs (sex, money, career) in the midst of the turmoil overtaking his country. In vivid and richly textured prose that distinguishes Cela's work, the emotional reality of civil war takes on a vibrant immediacy that is humorous, tender, and ultimately transforming as a young man tries to come to terms with the historical moment he inhabits--and hopes to survive. Readers new to Cela will find in this novel ample reason for the author's growing reputation among audiences worldwide.
