Book Synopsis Music of Jorge Morel by : Jorge Morel
Download or read book Music of Jorge Morel written by Jorge Morel and published by Mel Bay Publications. This book was released on 2013-09-24 with total page 37 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These compositions, like most of my music, are of Latin American roots, rhythms and melodies. However, the harmonies always have a jazz influence without losing that Latin flavor. Four of the five pieces in this book are dedications, except Lullaby of Love. I would say I wrote it for myself, and it is the only piece recorded by me on my CD Latin Dialog, released by Luthier Music. My hope with this music is to bring more guitarists closer to the Latin American literature for the guitar that is still much in need of recognition.- Jorge Morel

Book Synopsis 13 Easy Brazilian Choros for Solo Guitar by : Carlos De Lemos Almada
Download or read book 13 Easy Brazilian Choros for Solo Guitar written by Carlos De Lemos Almada and published by Mel Bay Publications. This book was released on 2010-12-17 with total page 33 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As one can easily imagine, it would be very hard for a guitar student to start reading the scores of the traditional choro repertoire, most of them with large number of technical difficulties. It would be much better if they could start with some easier pieces – of intermediate level – in order to be presented to the choro language in a more gradual and appropriate manner. That is the main goal of this book. It has 13 studies (in the 13 more commonly used keys for the choro guitar) written in a reduced form and in the principal stylistic choro variants: besides real choros, there are polkas, maxixes, Brazilian tangos and xotis. the more used and characteristic rhythmical figurations are present in each of the studies as the principal. Also aiming at the simplification of execution, all studies were composed with only two voices (melody and bass) and with no chords (although harmonies are quite evident due to the choro melodic particularities). A CD with all 13 studies is included.
