This book was released on 2014 with total page 26 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The economic significance of International Joint Ventures (IJVs) has attracted a lot of academic research, resulting in a broad variety of studies of which many focus on key success factors of IJVs in emerging countries. Whereas success determinants of IJVs in China have continuously been in the very forefront of scholarly interest, empirical research on success factors of IJVs in other transitional market economies such as e.g., the Russian Federation (Russia) is rather neglected. Thus, this paper aims at filling the research gap by rigorously selecting and categorizing relevant publications on success factors of Russian- and Soviet-Foreign IJVs. Based on a comparative assessment with prior research on success determinants of Sino-Foreign IJVs propositions are deduced for further research on Russian-Foreign IJVs. In doing so, our synopsis draws upon both, fundamental criticism regarding IJV research in general and recent appraising looks on key success factor research of Sino-Foreign IJVs in specific.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ayios looks at the Western experience of doing business in Russia, and how trust between business partners from East and West is created or destroyed within the business relationship. This book provides the reader with an in-depth look at the key factors that lead international partners to trust each other in a business relationship. Detailed data gathered from practitioners during 1996 and 1997, across a variety of industry sectors, provides a thorough account of the cultural difficulties that are encountered in the Russian context, and methods that can be employed to enhance trust and increase the chances of business success. A final chapter brings the reader up to date with the current business situation and compares the findings from the mid-1990s to the situation today. It aims to provide a good understanding of the literature on trust, to give anyone with an interest in the development of inter-personal trust a firm grounding. This is one of the first attempts to gather data at a cross-cultural level on determinants of trust and will be of interest to people working in cross-cultural business studies, east-west studies, international management, international trust, international business ethics and trust.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book captures the essence of the period when Russians and Americans collaborated in creating new structures of government and new businesses in completely uncharted conditions. It presents the experiences of key American participants in late Soviet and post-Soviet Russia during a time when Americans thought anything was possible in Russia. Using an analytic framework of foreground ideas (Western, liberal, and neo-liberal) and background forces (Russian cultural influences, nationalism, and lingering Soviet ideology), it examines the ideas and intentions of the people involved. First-person interviews with consultants, businesspeople, and citizen diplomats help capture the essence of this turbulent reform period through the eyes of those who experienced it and present the importance of this experience as a piece of the puzzle in understanding contemporary Russia. It will be an invaluable resource for students of international relations, Russian Studies majors, researchers, and members of the general public who are trying to understand the evolution of the current antagonism between the United States and Russia.

The new edition will retain all the strengths of the old book including a comprehensive and complex approach to the consumer & retail market and the interaction between FMCG retailers and manufacturers. The book will be thoroughly revised and updated and will consist of 4 main parts: A section on leading FMCG companies and brands (such as Coke, P&G, Unilever, Nestle, L'Oreal etc.), their marketing and branding strategies in the western markets (USA, Western Europe: UK, France, Germany and others). A section on leading retailers (Wal-Mart, Tesco, Carrefour etc.), their developments and expansion over the last 10 years. A section describing the interaction between retailers and manufacturers, including competition for end-consumers, trade marketing. A section covering the Emerging Markets—the retail landscape in the major developing economies, results of the expansion of major FMCG brands and western retail chains, challenges related to distribution and FMCG marketing in those countries. The book will also discuss the impact of the Global Crisis on the consumer and retail markets as well as predictions and prospects for the future.
