He abandoned a promising career in the military and dedicated the rest of his life to the service of Christ and the Church. This book tells of his starting one of the most influential orders in the church, and gives a graphic account of his adventures, his many encounters with popes, kings and emperors, and the great work the Jesuits did in spreading the Gospel. Words may not flow freely from Caleb's mouth at this time, but God has given him a unique ability to communicate using a paper, hand-held version of a keyboard. It is through this special ability Caleb has been able to communicate messages of hope and healing to so many people throughout the last several years. With a special anointing from God, Caleb has communicated hope to local recovery programs on and off since the age of five. His mother relayed these messages, and his father recorded each one. Be Free in Christ, a devotional journal, offers a compilation of these encouraging messages. In 2020, Caleb spent time reflecting on these writings and paired them with questions in this devotional journal to bring freedom to those in bondage.

In Jesus, Inc., Laurie Beth Jones, bestselling author of Jesus, CEO, shows you how to find soul satisfaction in your work. Book Synopsis Jesus and John Wayne: How White Evangelicals Corrupted a Faith and Fractured a Nation by : Kristin Kobes Du Mez
Download or read book Jesus and John Wayne: How White Evangelicals Corrupted a Faith and Fractured a Nation written by Kristin Kobes Du Mez and published by Liveright Publishing. This book was released on 2020-06-23 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER The “paradigm-influencing” book (Christianity Today) that is fundamentally transforming our understanding of white evangelicalism in America. Jesus and John Wayne is a sweeping, revisionist history of the last seventy-five years of white evangelicalism, revealing how evangelicals have worked to replace the Jesus of the Gospels with an idol of rugged masculinity and Christian nationalism—or in the words of one modern chaplain, with “a spiritual badass.” As acclaimed scholar Kristin Du Mez explains, the key to understanding this transformation is to recognize the centrality of popular culture in contemporary American evangelicalism. Many of today’s evangelicals might not be theologically astute, but they know their VeggieTales, they’ve read John Eldredge’s Wild at Heart, and they learned about purity before they learned about sex—and they have a silver ring to prove it. Evangelical books, films, music, clothing, and merchandise shape the beliefs of millions. And evangelical culture is teeming with muscular heroes—mythical warriors and rugged soldiers, men like Oliver North, Ronald Reagan, Mel Gibson, and the Duck Dynasty clan, who assert white masculine power in defense of “Christian America.” Chief among these evangelical legends is John Wayne, an icon of a lost time when men were uncowed by political correctness, unafraid to tell it like it was, and did what needed to be done. Challenging the commonly held assumption that the “moral majority” backed Donald Trump in 2016 and 2020 for purely pragmatic reasons, Du Mez reveals that Trump in fact represented the fulfillment, rather than the betrayal, of white evangelicals’ most deeply held values: patriarchy, authoritarian rule, aggressive foreign policy, fear of Islam, ambivalence toward #MeToo, and opposition to Black Lives Matter and the LGBTQ community. A much-needed reexamination of perhaps the most influential subculture in this country, Jesus and John Wayne shows that, far from adhering to biblical principles, modern white evangelicals have remade their faith, with enduring consequences for all Americans.

Book Synopsis Jesus to the Rescue by : Joshua & Chelsea Barnes
Download or read book Jesus to the Rescue written by Joshua & Chelsea Barnes and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2014 with total page 20 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On July 22, 2012, the Chisholm Trail preschool class learned about the fiery furnace from the book of Daniel in the Bible. They were asked to paint a picture of an angel for their craft. Daniel Barnes, age two, painted the picture on the front cover. (He had only scribbled before that day.) On August 4, 2012, just two weeks after he painted his picture, tragedy struck. Daniel accidentally drowned at his third birthday party. God didn't reveal what the painting actually was until after Daniel had gone to heaven. All the extraordinary details of Daniel being taken to heaven are in his miraculous painting. Daniel had been wearing the exact color orange trunks and shirt as in the painting on the child (center of painting). Josh had jumped in from the side of the pool, just as the yellow person is jumping in the painting (far left). Daniel physically painted his angel that swooped down and rescued him that day, but God was guiding every stroke of that brush.
