Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book Jesus and Muhammad 2 Rays of the Same Light takes the reader on a journey through the authentic teachings of Jesus and Muhammad. During the course of this journey, each reader is presented with numerous themes and topics that were excellently addressed by Jesus in the New Testament and that were also superbly addressed by Muhammad in the Quran, thus illustrating profound similarities, complements, and parallels. Providing ample food for thought and reflection, the book provides numerous examples where the teachings of Jesus and Muhammad clearly demonstrate continuity, balance, and congruence. An excellent analysis is made of The Sermon on the Mount, also entitled The Beatitudes, from Jesus while on the mountain compared to The Farewell Sermon, also entitled The Final Sermon, of Muhammad, also delivered while on a mountain. The critical insights and synergy is compelling and indeed thought-provoking, as well as inspirational. The book brilliantly explores the subject of religious interfaith, providing scriptural support from Jesus, as per the New Testament, and from Muhammad, as per the Quran, as an unbiased platform. The book does an excellent job of identifying numerous examples where the teachings of Jesus and Muhammad do indeed portray them as two rays of the same light!

Book excerpt: One issue that often brings conflict between Christians and Muslims is the issue of the identity of Jesus Christ and that of Muhammad. Why Muslims see Jesus Christ as nothing more than a servant and a messenger of Allah, the Christians see him beyond that, Christians see Jesus as the Son of God the very image of the invisible God who came into the world the save man from sin and destruction. You would not need to have much training in Christian Theology to be able to see that Jesus' foot print is in almost all the books of the Bible; from Genesis to Revelation. In the Bible you see Jesus in prophesies, Jesus in action and Jesus in allusion. Christians never mistake Muhammad for anything other than a false prophet and an impostor into the Abrahamic monotheism, but the Muslims consider him a prophet and a messenger of Allah their God and a role model for all his followers. The reasons for these two different and divergent views are not farfetched, Muslims read the Bible in the light of the Quran. The Quran claim that it is the final revelation of God, you will lose out if you don't key in. While Christians read the Quran in the light of the Bible, the unchangeable eternal word of God, and that leads to different conclusion and identification of the two great personalities Jesus and Muhammad. Ironically, however, the very characteristics of Muhammad as extoled in the Quran and Hadiths as those of a great prophet are the same characteristics when looking at in the light of the gospel of Christ the same exposed him as a false prophet, but this is completely concealed to the Muslims. The Quran required the Muslims to check up with the Bible for confirmation of the truth of the Quranic revelation, but the extent to which Muslims hid to this instruction is a different thing altogether (Q5:47-49,10:94) In this book, however we will look at Jesus and Muhammad in the light of the Bible revelation in an attempt to answer sundry questions that will help probe into some basic truth about these two personalities with the aim of helping you make right decision that may determine your destiny. This is not being partial but the right thing to do since the Bible predate the Quran for at least 600 years and if they both came from the same source then the former should be the benchmark for the confirmation of the truth. After going through this book, you should be able to take responsibility for who you trust with your life in time and in eternity. It is your God given ability to discern and to choose between good and evil. Christian attempt to reach the Muslims with the gospel of Jesus Christ has always been met with strong resistance and the reasons are obvious: It has always been because of lack of proper knowledge of who really was Jesus Christ and who was Muhammad. There are a number of things that fuel their stiff resistance to the Gospel: The Muslims are under the illusion that God has given them the best religion in the world, not knowing that religion is a curse to mankind, no religion is capable of given man salvation. The word religion is not even mentioned in the Old Testament of the Bible and in the few places where it was mentioned in the New Testament is not something one should desire to have. From Genesis to Revelation God wants man to relate to him in a family relationship predicated on love. A relationship based on pure love towards God and towards our fellow men. The Quran made Muslims to understand that one of the unpardonable sins of man is to make God a partner with man, and Christianity and Judaism happens to falls under the categories of religion that makes their prophets partners with God according to Islam and this is shirk the unpardonable sin.

Book excerpt: Jesus and Muhammad lived in different times and in different contexts. An absolute comparison of the careers of these two men is not a satisfactory method in understanding the similarities and differences between their teachings. This book approaches this topic from a different perspective. The time that Muhammad preached in Mecca is compared to the time Jesus spent preaching throughout Palestine. This improves the similarities in contexts between them and makes a comparison more valid. The number of similarities outweighs the number of differences when looking at the four books of the Gospel and the chapters of the Qur'an revealed in Mecca. On issues related to prayer, the Oneness of God, charity, the Hereafter and forgiveness the teachings in these two books are practically the same. A number of core theological issues surfaced in the Book of John do clash with Qur’anic teachings about the person of Jesus. These differences and the possible reasons for them are explored in this book. The conclusion of this book is that Muslims and Christians have more shared values and even theological similarities than differences. It is recommended that Muslims and Christians should spend more time understanding these commonalities.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jesus and Muhammad are two of the best known and revered figures in history, each with a billion or more global followers. Now, in this intriguing volume, F.E. Peters offers a clear and compelling analysis of the parallel lives of Jesus and Muhammad, the first such in-depth comparison in print. Like a detective, Peters compiles "dossiers" of what we do and do not know about the lives and portraits of these towering figures, drawing on the views of modern historians and the evidence of the Gospels and the Quran. With erudition and wit, the author nimbly leads the reader through drama and dogma to reveal surprising similarities between the two leaders and their messages. Each had a public career as a semi-successful preacher. Both encountered opposition that threatened their lives and those of their followers. Each left a body of teaching purported to be their very words, with an urgent imperative that all must become believers in the face of the approaching apocalypse. Both are symbols of hope on the one hand and of God's terrible judgment on the other. They are bringers of peace--and the sword. There is, however, a fundamental difference. Muslims revere Muhammad ibn Abdullah of Mecca as a mortal prophet. Although known as a prophet in his day, the Galilean Jew Jesus was and is believed by his followers to have been the promised Messiah, indeed the son of God. The Quran records revelations received by Muhammad as the messenger of God, whereas the revelations of the Gospels focus on Jesus and the events of his life and death. A lasting contribution to interfaith understanding, Jesus and Muhammad offers lucid, intelligent answers to questions that underlie some of the world's most intractable conflicts.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is important for Christians and Muslims to engage in respectful dialogue. However, it is not easy. The present book delves into the past for wisdom and guidance. Spanish theologian Martin Perez de Ayala (1504-66) wrote a catechism or Catecismo that was not published until more than three decades after he had passed away. Why was the Catecismo published posthumously? The search for answers to this question involved evaluating the Catecismo against thirteen other catechisms written in sixteenth-century Spain. This assessment generated timeless principles that can be used today by those who wish to have cordial conversations about Islam and biblical Christianity with their Muslim friends.

And what was their vision for the future? This book answers all these questions, drawing on the earliest ancient documents we have about them. Some of the stories of the Prophet’s interactions with them are based on legends and myths, while others are more authentic and plausible. But who exactly were these Christians? Why did Muhammad interact with them as he reportedly did? And what lessons can today’s Christians and Muslims learn from these encounters? Scholar Craig Considine, one of the most powerful global voices speaking in admiration of the prophet of Islam, provides answers to these questions. Through a careful study of works by historians and theologians, he highlights an idea central to Muhammad’s vision: an inclusive Ummah, or Muslim nation, rooted in citizenship rights, interfaith dialogue, and freedom of conscience, religion and speech. In this unprecedented sociological analysis of one of history’s most influential human beings, Considine offers groundbreaking insight that could redefine Christian and Muslim relations.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Accessible and readable. Spotlights an important theological theme in a way that both illuminates its internal development in Islamic thought and presents it as a helpful basis for interreligious discussion. The topic is very much in need of teaching and discussion and is a fine example of ‘common ground.’”—John Renard, author of Islam and Christianity “Contains valuable and fascinating material about how classical Muslim theologians treated various aspects of Jesus and, in particular, the role of Jesus in Islamic eschatology. Saritoprak brings new insights from contemporary Turkish thinkers to bear on the issues raised by the Jesus figure in Islamic narratives about the Last Days.”—Marcia Hermansen, author of Shah Wali Allah’s Treatises on Islamic Law “A refreshingly easy read that makes a complex world of theology and interfaith relations accessible and enjoyable for readers of all backgrounds.”—Jonathan Brown, author of Hadith: Muhammad’s Legacy in the Medieval and Modern World Few people realize that Jesus was a prominent messenger of God in Islam and that Muslims believe in the return of Jesus. Even among Muslims, it is not well known that there are diverse interpretations of references to Jesus in the Qur’an and the Hadith. Aiming to remedy this, Islam’s Jesus takes a bold yet candid look at the highly charged topic of Jesus’s place in Islam, exploring some of the religion’s least understood aspects. Examining multiple intellectual traditions, Zeki Saritoprak makes clear the reality of pluralism in the history of Islamic religious scholarship. Actively engaged in efforts to promote interfaith dialogue and harmony, Saritoprak thoughtfully argues that the shared belief in Jesus presents an excellent opportunity for understanding between Muslims and Christians. Together, they constitute more than half of the world’s population, and such understanding may be a foundation for peace.

Book excerpt: Offering readers an engaging, accessible, and balanced account of the contributions of American Muslims to the contemporary United States, this important book serves to clarify misrepresentations and misunderstandings regarding Muslim Americans and Islam. Unfortunately, American mass media representations of Muslims—whether in news or entertainment—are typically negative and one-dimensional. As a result, Muslims are frequently viewed negatively by those with minimal knowledge of Islam in America. This accessible two-volume work will help readers to construct an accurate framework for understanding the presence and depictions of Muslims in American society. These volumes discuss a uniquely broad array of key topics in American popular culture, including jihad and jihadis; the hejab, veil, and burka; Islamophobia; Oriental despots; Arabs; Muslims in the media; and mosque burnings. Muslims and American Popular Culture offers more than 40 chapters that serve to debunk the overwhelmingly negative associations of Islam in American popular culture and illustrate the tremendous contributions of Muslims to the United States across an extended historical period.

White presents Islamic beliefs about Christ, salvation, the Trinity, the afterlife, and other important topics. Arceno Jr and published by Partridge Publishing Singapore. This book was released on 2019-07-22 with total page 628 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Volume 1 of the book will discuss the true gospel of Jesus(as), which is about the imminent coming of the Son of Man and the establishment of the universal kingdom of God on earth. We will emphasize the fact that the entire ministry of Jesus(as) is all about the good news of the imminent fulfillment of the ‘Son of Man’ prophecy and the ‘Kingdom of God’ prophecy of Prophet Daniel(as) as written in the Bible. Based on the correct context and interpretation, the “Son of Man” mentioned by Jesus(as) refers to Prophet Muhammad(saw) and the “kingdom of God” refers to Islam. Volume 2 will discuss about the fulfillment of the Seventy Weeks prophecy of Prophet Daniel(as). This prophecy is actually a countdown to know the year Jesus(as) and Muhammad(saw) will come on earth. Jesus(as) is expected to arrive in the sixty-ninth week of the countdown, and Prophet Muhammad(saw) will arrive in the seventieth week of the countdown. Its exact fulfillment in history (such as the year of their birth, the starting year of their ministry and the year their messianic mission will be accomplished) is a miracle or sign from God Almighty (Qur’an 20:133) and a clear evidence (Qur’an 61:6) attesting the veracity of the prophethood of both Jesus(as) and Muhammad(saw). This will explain to us why there were Jews in Judea who knew what time or year Jesus(as) will arrive on earth; and why there were Jews in Yathrib Arabia who knew what time or year Muhammad(saw) will emerge as Messenger of God.
