Book excerpt: Jesus A Revelation of God JESUS A REVELATION OF GOD is a comparative study of Jesus’ words in The Bible and The Urantia Book. In JESUS A REVELATION OF GOD Laurence unlocks the truths contained in the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Laurence started by cutting the words of Jesus from each of the four gospels. He then put each passage together in chronological order, combining the material into one story. Laurence used thirty-five versions of the Bible along with ten other books by other writers on the gospels to write JESUS A REVELATION OF GOD. Laurence then compares Jesus’ words in The Bible with the words of Jesus in The Urantia Book. Laurence Whelan has been searching all his life for the truth. His effort has culminated in a nineteen-year study of the words of Jesus. Mr. Whelan hopes that JESUS A REVELATION OF GOD will lead you one step closer to the truth. This book is the second edition of JESUS A REVELATION OF GOD, the third of three books Mr. Whelan has completed: 1. JESUS THE WORD, contains only the words of Jesus. 2. JESUS THE WORDS OF JESUS contains the story of Jesus. 3. JESUS A REVELATION OF GOD is a comparative study of Jesus’ words in The Bible and The Urantia Book.

Book excerpt: A Commentary on the Book of Revelation - Volume 2 The author presents a detailed study of the Book of Revelation emphasizing prophetic themes from the rest of the Bible which find their fulfillment in Revelation. To understand this controversial book, the author explores the many connections between the visions seen by the Apostle John and previous prophetic revelation given to Old Testament prophets such as Daniel, Ezekiel, and others. It is the author's conviction that an understanding of related passages elsewhere in the Bible is the most important key to unlocking the bewildering variety of interpretations which often accompany the study of the last book of the Bible. The commentary is linked to a free companion internet course providing an additional 70 hours of audio instruction linked to almost 1,000 slides.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the Introduction by Merrill C. Tenney: This commentary is an attempt to make plain the meaning of Revelation. With commendable reserve, Dr. Smith has restricted himself largely to interpretation by other passages of Scripture which are related to Revelation by actual quotation or by striking parallelism. His painstaking studies of vocabulary and of related ideas make the book valuable to the earnest student of the Bible. Dr. Smith is a futurist and a premillenarian, holding that all of the Book of Revelation beginning with the fourth chapter relates to the future period of judgment known as 'the great tribulation,' which will be followed by the personal return of Christ and by the establishment of His kingdom. In this regard he is in a long line of renowned commentators, including Seiss, Gaebelein, Ottman, and others. The distinguishing feature of this commentary is its use of Biblical statistics and comparisons. The uses of important terms in the Revelation are cataloged, and their interpretation is derived from their context. The appendices contain some extensive studies of individual topics, correlating information not easily obtainable elsewhere. Dr. Smith follows a literal interpretation except where avowed symbolism demands a different procedure. He has sought to make his exposition consistent in method and in results. His use of Greek is apt, and shows a careful investigation of the underlying vocabulary of the Greek text. This commentary will probably be the mainstay of premillennial exposition for some years to come.

Book excerpt: Ray Pennington, a country preacher and pastor, spent many years studying the Word of God, spending many hours reading the writings of different authors of books about the Revelation of Jesus Christ. In 2005 God put a desire in Ray to simply read this great Revelation of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. It was during this year and in a very short period of time that God illuminated Ray's mind concerning this Great Revelation of Jesus Christ and he preached thirty-one sermons as the Holy Spirit inspired him. Through this experience of illumination given by the Holy Spirit Ray realized that we have been given a Teacher that is far above the commentaries of men. This book was not written as a commentary but God given illumination concerning The Revelation of Jesus Christ. Ray and his wife Dolly now reside in Staffordsville, Kentucky.

Book excerpt: Jesus is Victor is a compilation of the only 14 tapes that can be found of A. W. Tozer's 1961 Revelation sermons. Though not a complete study of the entire book, it offers a timely and vivid spiritual lesson to each and every one of us, Instead of trying to interpret the various events of Revelation, Tozer looks at the underlying spiritual lessons of the book, such as: The basic truth that Jesus is Victor The strong message of repentance The holiness of Jesus The wrath of God This book is not a presentation of any certain eschatological view, but a plea for readers to repent. It is A. W. Tozer's desire that all who would pursue the truth of Revelation to be overcomers and rest their faith on the goodness and grace of a loving and just Creator God.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Not found on any map, the Valley of Decision is a place of indecision—a quagmire of noncommitment, stalling forward motion. It’s the anxious middle place, whose occupants include the multitudes who are still not sure what exactly to do with Jesus Christ. Polarized by life and the ways of the world, they stand here unconvinced, at the end of times, when wickedness is great and the harvest is ripe. Yet perhaps knowing more about what tomorrow brings would help those still undecided make the clear choice to freely stand with God. The Revelation of Jesus Christ—Standing in the Valley of Decision explores the book of Revelation as the source of God’s true prophecy for what our future holds. Authors David and Denise Hall offer verse-by-verse commentaries on Christ’s revelation, omitting nothing and using the Bible to interpret itself with scriptural citations supporting every point. Believers are invited to take notes and engage in active Bible study as they learn how end-time prophecies are being fulfilled today. In what time is left, the choice is clear, personal, and simple: freely stand with God and have your sins washed away and your ransom paid, or face the eternal consequence of separation. Choose now and soon, because the time of His return draws near. The time to study Revelation is now, and The Revelation of Jesus Christ—Standing in the Valley of Decision will help all those seeking truth in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Book excerpt: Revelation is possibly the most controversial book in the bible. Some famous theologians have even suggested to remove it from the bible cannon because it is so hard to understand. I will argue it is not that difficult to make sense of as long as we manage to place it on “Gods timeline” in history and understand “Gods relation and reaction” to an unrepentant Israel. If we allow the bible text to be our theology in stead of trying to fit the bible into our theology, it all comes together nicely. It is Jesus speaking in Revelation. It is not a book to be ignored but to be studied diligently. It helps us understand where we are in history on “Gods timeline”. The book in front of you is a commentary to the essential message, chapter and verses in the biblical book Revelation. You can not fully understand who Jesus is until you understand Revelation. Suddenly the overall message of the bible comes together. Exciting. This book is for bible readers that would like to be challenged and to understand “the bigger picture” of what God is trying to teach us through his word. If you on the other hand have a theology cemented in cherry-picked bible verses and religious denominational tradition, this book most likely is not for you.

When thinking about the book of Revelation, death and destruction, lawlessness and chaos seem to be the focus of most people. Humanity, especially Hollywood, seems to have an insatiable appetite for the sensational devastation and death that is predicted in this biblical prophecy. The problem with this is most media sources miss the main point for which these catastrophes occur; the call of God for His creation to reunite with Him. The book of Revelation is probably the most controversial book of the Bible! Which piece of literature throughout history has had more written about it, with such widely divided opinions and differing beliefs? Yet through all of the existing material, there is still widespread confusion and improbable comprehension regarding this prophecy. However controversial it may seem, Revelation is also one of the most important writings we have available concerning the Christian life today. It is a compulsory read for anyone serious about living their life for Jesus Christ. Revelation: The Full Disclosure of Jesus Christ takes the reader verse by verse through the entire twenty-two chapters of Revelation, giving accurate but easy-to-understand explanations. It is designed as a study guide for the children of God, at every level of understanding! The book of Revelation is both a continuation and ending of the story that began in the book of Genesis. So come, let us explore together the final chapter of the greatest story ever told!

The book presents a concise verse-by-verse study of the Apostle John’s Revelation of Jesus Christ, i.e., the New Testament book of Revelation. Its purpose is to make the study of Revelation comprehensive but not complex, thorough yet easy to follow. Bible commentary, related subject lessons, charts and illustrations, and frequently asked questions (FAQ) taken from years of teaching combine to add redundancy and visual appeal to the study. The book is written to appeal to Bible students of all ages, young adults through seniors. Review questions and up-to-date discussion questions are included at the end of each chapter for the purpose of personal reflection or to facilitate classroom discussion in group study settings.

Book excerpt: Finally a Bible study made easy for one of the least read and least understood books in the Bible. But it is the Word of God and He gave it to us for a purpose. He wanted those in Christ to know what the future would hold for this world. God wants us to know and believe not only the Lamb of God, but the coming Lion of Judah. This book is the revealing of Who Jesus Christ really is. He came first to save the world and He's coming again to judge the world. But for those in Christ there is nothing to fear. Expand your knowledge of the events that are yet to take place and you will find peace. It is the only book that comes with a promise of blessings for those who read it. So dig in and growth your faith by studying and knowing His Word. You will not only trust but know that He has ALL things under control.
