Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If this is a fair world, Cheryl H. Harrington would have most likely not written this book. This book is a thrilling story about the struggles and hardships that she has been through in this cold, hard world. It goes from the ever so loving happiness of a family, to the deepest depths of addiction. Her story is one for the history books, but also a story that tells of the strength and passion of a black woman who dreams to be successful in this world today. Not everyone can overcome the challenges she has faced in her life, but as a strong black woman in this unforgiving world, Cheryl has made a name for herself. This story here tells how that name came about. In life God provides you with chances, opportunities, situations, circumstances, and people....for a reason or a season Sometimes both. The author of this book has not written these words for entertainment, they are authentic. This is her story. I know because God has loaned her to me for quite a season now and i recognize the reason...This story being shared is one of true revelation of the meaning of a deep and loving relationship with our Divine Higher Power and most be-loved God! The courage, strength, wisdom, sincerity this soldier of the Lord has chosen to share will help those wandering in the dark to look deeper, harder and longer at the choices they have made and whom they have served within and without their struggles through life....Riveting book....awesome, metaphorically intertwined in the complex and compelling struggle Christians experienced while carry our cross...Amazing!!!!!!!!! Book Synopsis I've Tried Being Nice by : Ann Leary
Download or read book I've Tried Being Nice written by Ann Leary and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2024-06-04 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New York Times bestselling author Ann Leary offers a literary feast of humor and wisdom told from the perspective of a recovering people pleaser. Having arrived at a certain age (her prime), Ann Leary casts a wry backward glance at a life spent trying—and often failing—to be nice. With wit and surprising candor, Leary recounts the bedlam of home bat invasions, an obsession with online personality tests, and the mortification of taking ballroom dance lessons with her actor husband. She describes hilarious red-carpet fiascos and other observations from the sidelines of fame, while also touching upon her more poignant struggles with alcoholism, her love for her family, her dogs, and so much more. Prepare to laugh, cry, cringe and revel in the comically relatable chaos of Ann Leary’s life as revealed in this delightful collection of essays.
Book Synopsis I've Been through Hell Trying to Make It Up to Heaven by : Alida Jai Rogers
Download or read book I've Been through Hell Trying to Make It Up to Heaven written by Alida Jai Rogers and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2023-09-19 with total page 703 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How would you like to have your funeral at any place you wanted? Well, in this book, you will see what my uncle did. He was a major coach. What is a major coach? Well, that is where you coach literally everything: basketball, baseball, track, football, martial arts, swimming, golf, and dancing lessons. He tutored adults and children and worked a regular job. Lazy wasn't a word he knew. What better way than to go out the way you lived your life? I personally thought it was very cool. My uncle's funeral was on the track and football field where over three hundred people attended to celebrate and paid their respects. It made my father feel like he was putting on a gospel celebrity concert that he waited for all his life. Lord Jesus help us. If only Erica from Mary Mary would have just given my father a solo at their church. My beautiful great-aunt had us join a procession at the funeral as if it was a wedding. We sat in white chairs on the football field as if we were holding a presidential election. He was just that special. My uncle's only daughter's wedding colors were purple and white. And she wanted to honor him by the family wearing those colors since he would not be here to walk her down the aisle. My father felt like this was his time to shine. He didn't have to shine that much to make us go viral. We were embarrassed. We had just seen Kobe and his daughter buried the day before. I was grateful for the tribute they gave to all nine lives that were lost. Everyone was watching at the airport. We were delayed due to the fog. After watching the funeral, no one complained about the fog again. I flew all the way from St. Louis. I couldn't miss my uncle's funeral. Who would have thought the world would shut down five weeks later? I say God is trying to tell us all something. With me being six months pregnant, and bleeding for five of those six months, I believed it would be a double funeral. God said, "You both shall live," yet the devil was trying to take me out. I believe in my heart that this book will show you that no matter your skin color, we are the same. Even if your faith is paper thin, this book is for you. Religion shouldn't be anyone's cup of tea. Even in the COVID pandemic, Jesus has never left us nor forsaken us. His blood is why we breathe. Now that's love. That should be our cup of tea. Not religion.

Download or read book Try This At Home: Adventures in songwriting written by Frank Turner and published by Hachette UK. This book was released on 2019-03-21 with total page 348 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: *THE SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLER* The brand new memoir from the Sunday Times bestselling author of The Road Beneath My Feet. Taking 36 songs from his back catalogue, folk-punk icon Frank Turner explores his songwriting process. Find out the stories behind the songs forged in the hedonistic years of the mid-2000s North London scene, the ones perfected in Nashville studios, and everything in between. Some of these songs arrive fully-formed, as if they've always been there, some take graft and endless reworking to find 'the one'. In exploring them all, Turner reflects with eloquence, insight and self-deprecating wit on exactly what it is to be a songwriter. From love songs and break-up songs to political calls-to-arms; songs composed alone in a hotel room or in soundcheck with the Sleeping Souls, this brilliantly written memoir - featuring exclusive photos of handwritten lyrics and more - is a must-have book for FT fans and anyone curious about how to write music.
