Book Synopsis Employment Performance in the Knowledge-based Economy by : Surendra Gera
Download or read book Employment Performance in the Knowledge-based Economy written by Surendra Gera and published by Industrie Canada. This book was released on 1996 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is a growing consensus among academics and policy-makers that most industrialized economies are increasingly becoming "knowledge-based." Knowledge, both as an input and an output, is seen a key source of long-term growth and job creation. The study examines the relationship between structural change and the employment performance of the Canadian economy over the period 1971 to 1991, using Statistics Canada's input/output model. Though largely based on previous work by the OECD (1992), the study employs more timely data and a finer industrial disaggregation (111 industries as opposed to 33), and explores more closely the employment implications of the emergence of the knowledge- based economy.

Paradoxically, however, this recent period also offers new opportunities. Through the presentation of original research results, reading grids, illustrations and case studies, Wine Management and Marketing 2 analyzes the main challenges facing the wine industry and considers new opportunities: a renewed dynamism of technical, organizational and commercial innovations; the adaptability of actors; a greater introduction of new technologies; etc. The multi-faceted approach adopted by the authors and experts offers an enriched reflection, which provides a better understanding of the current state of the wine industry, and presents various levers for adapting to new commercial, societal and environmental expectations.
Book Synopsis Trends in Enterprise Knowledge Management by : Imed Boughzala
Download or read book Trends in Enterprise Knowledge Management written by Imed Boughzala and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2010-01-05 with total page 298 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Knowledge Management (KM) encompasses a wide range of tools and methods that are at the heart of the information and communication society and provide solutions that rely as much on organization as on technology. This title brings together contributions from authors from a range of countries who are recognized as leading figures in this field, both in an academic and a practical sense. It describes the strategic aspects of KM and defines the underlying principles in terms of management, life cycle, process, methods and tools involved in this discipline. Several approaches to the running of KM within organizations are then discussed. The influence of KM on the performance of a company is analyzed and guidelines are given on various KM approaches that can be used to achieve specific goals. Finally, several case studies of companies that have put KM at the heart of their organizational strategy are given to demonstrate how this approach has been put into practice. Given the practical approach taken by this book and the considerable advantages that a good handling of KM can bring to an organization, this title will be of great interest to those involved in this field.

Book Synopsis La Recherche-Intervention Dans les Entreprises et les Organisations by : Anthony F. Buono
Download or read book La Recherche-Intervention Dans les Entreprises et les Organisations written by Anthony F. Buono and published by IAP. This book was released on 2018-02-01 with total page 313 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume continues to build on the relationship between the Research in Management Consulting series and the intervener-researchers at the Socio-Economic Institute for Firms and Organizations (ISEOR) in Ecully, France, extending that partnership to our recent work with the French Foundation for Management Education (FNEGE), a foundation dedicated to closing the gap between the teaching and practice of management in France. As part of the Foundation’s multifaceted activities—which range from seminars and an advanced training initiative for French doctoral students to joint programs with international organizations an associations—FNEGE partnered with ISEOR to sponsor a series of workshops on developing high quality intervention-research. This volume is one of the results from that endeavor. Although intervention-research helps to uncover valuable insight into organizational dynamics and performance, the challenge of capturing and disseminating that insight to both academics and practitioners is entrenched in the rigor-relevance debate. While we are witnessing increased calls for “actionable knowledge,” this ideal, unfortunately, remains a rather elusive concept as critics contend either that rigorous academic research falls well-short of relevance to the practitioner world or research that proves to be valuable to practitioners falls short of the rigor expected in academic life. This volume is intended to help bridge that divide. Drawing on the FNEGE-ISEOR intervention-research workshop, the volume contains 18 chapters that explore the intervention-research process, from initial conceptualization, to implementation, to publication. The volume will be published in French and English

Book Synopsis La logistique durable by : MORANA Joëlle
Download or read book La logistique durable written by MORANA Joëlle and published by Lavoisier. This book was released on 2013-04-01 with total page 226 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis Functional Economy by : Céline Merlin-Brogniart
Download or read book Functional Economy written by Céline Merlin-Brogniart and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2024-11-05 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Functional Economy is a concept that is often associated with ecological transition and sustainable development. It prioritizes the use of a service or good rather than its sale, and tends to encourage cooperation. This model supports the transition to a more ecological and equitable economic and social environment. This book presents the different approaches to the Functional Economy and the ways in which the various players (companies, public institutions and citizens) are adopting and adapting them through innovation. Depending on their degree of sustainability and their scope, these innovations can have major economic, social and environmental impacts. Particularly at the local territorial level, those involved in innovation need to be supported as closely as possible if they are to overcome the hurdles they face and reap the rewards of the transformations brought about by this socio economic model, which is built around functionality.
