Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: INTRODUCING UFOs - A Young Person's GuideFULL COLOUR VERSIONWritten by Philip Mantle and illustrated by Ronald Kinsella. The UFO subject as we know it came to the public's attention on June 24th 1947 when private pilot Kenneth Arnold, flying over the Cascade Mountains in the USA, witnessed a formation of objects that he could not identify. Speaking later to a journalist regarding the encounter, Arnold was asked how this formation of objects moved through the air, and his response was: "Like skipping a saucer across a pond." From that moment on, the coined phrase 'Flying Saucer' was born.Since that time, the UFO subject has been studied by a variety of military agencies, scientists and of course civilian run organisations. As a result, there are thousands of UFO books and magazines available, plus countless news items and documentaries on television, social media and of course online. Very few of these cater for a younger audience, so that is where our book 'INTRODUCING UFOs - A Young Person's Guide' steps in. I think the title says it all.In this book, we look at selected case histories from the 1940's onwards. These documentations are not meant to be in-depth, but rather to illustrate the case in as brief a way as possible, without missing any salient points. The case histories chosen for this book come from around the world and are accompanied by illustrations, documents, photographs and maps. Each chapter is split into decades and comes complete with its own piece of unique artwork. The book also provides an overview on what to do if you encounter a UFO and discusses, in brief, some of the many theories put forward to try and explain the phenomenon. This book is designed with a young adolescent audience in mind and comes complete with a photo section, with a series of authentic UFO photographs from around the world. The UFO phenomena shows no signs of disappearing, hence a book that we hope might help the next generation of researchers in their quest for answers. This book has a selection of new and unique illustrations and a selection of UFO photographs from around the world. This is the full colour version of the book. A black and white version is also in print.ABOUT THE AUTHOR AND ILLUSTRATOR: Ronald Kinsella (illustrator): Ronald Kinsella is an artist and author. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A richly illustrated, encyclopedic deep dive into the history of roleplaying games. When Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson released Dungeons & Dragons in 1974, they created the first roleplaying game of all time. Little did they know that their humble box set of three small digest-sized booklets would spawn an entire industry practically overnight. In Monsters, Aliens, and Holes in the Ground, Stu Horvath explores how the hobby of roleplaying games, commonly known as RPGs, blossomed out of an unlikely pop culture phenomenon and became a dominant gaming form by the 2010s. Going far beyond D&D, this heavily illustrated tome covers more than three hundred different RPGs that have been published in the last five decades. Monsters, Aliens, and Holes in the Ground features (among other things) bunnies, ghostbusters, soap operas, criminal bears, space monsters, political intrigue, vampires, romance, and, of course, some dungeons and dragons. In a decade-by-decade breakdown, Horvath chronicles how RPGs have evolved in the time between their inception and the present day, offering a deep and gratifying glimpse into a hobby that has changed the way we think about games and play. The deluxe edition will include a foil-stamped cover and slipcase with a cloth binding, a ribbon, gilded edges, and an 8.5x11-inch card stock poster of the regular edition.

While many can be explained as natural and man-made phenomena such as planets, stars, aircraft and weather balloons, a small hard-core percentage of UFOs described as strange symmetrical metallic and glowing objects has continued to mystify the scientists. Now a new concise and simple scientific analysis of the mystery will, for the first time, solve the mystery. This book reveals the answer. And it is true, there is a new electromagnetic technology to be found in the UFO reports. In fact, if you know how universal gravitation works from an electromagnetic perspective according to Einstein's Unified Field Theory, you will know how this electromagnetic technology works. And it is simpler than you think.Furthermore, there is something else about a moving charged surface and what is contained in light that gives this technology an added kick. You can understand this from the Unified Field Theory book. This UFO book shows the application of this additional knowledge thanks to one unusual formula in electromagnetism.Full color version available from http://www.sunrisepage.comSpecial Edition version containsextra details on three world-class UFO cases.

Book excerpt: A picture-book account of one of the most famous pieces of radio history! * “Sandwiched between a look at Depression-era radios and a set of fanciful period advertisements, McCarthy delivers a semi-serious account of the 1938 War of the Worlds broadcast, illustrating both passages from the script and briefly told descriptions of widespread panic with smudgy cartoon scenes featuring bug-eyed monsters and equally bug-eyed people. The author closes with a substantial note that analyzes the broadcast’ immediate and long-term effects, points out that the announcers repeatedly admitted that they were presenting a drama during the broadcast, mentions several later revivals here and internationally and notes the response of H.G. Wells himself to the original production. She has also set up an invitingly designed Web site with an array of relevant links.” —Kirkus Reviews, Starred An ALA–ALSC Notable Children’s Book A School Library Journal Best Book of the Year An IRA–CBC Children’s Choice A Kirkus Reviews Editor’s Choice A 2006 New York Public Library 100 Titles for Reading and Sharing

While many can be explained under a range of natural and man-made phenomena such as planets, stars, aircraft and weather balloons, a small hard-core percentage of UFOs providing considerable details of a strange symmetrical metallic and glowing object flying in the air has continued to mystify the scientists. Naturally one must ask, What are these UFOs? In 1969, a US government-sponsored study by the University of Colorado headed by Dr Edward U. Condon claimed that UFO reports represented nothing new to science and, therefore, will neither advance our scientific knowledge nor present any new technology. With marks left on the ground, electromagnetic disruptions to man-made electrical systems, and witnesses who have suffered from radiation poisoning, burns, and other medical conditions in the presence of these objects, a growing number of the hard-core reports are revealing some kind of a real and physical electromagnetic phenomenon. Are these UFOs ball lightning? Are they a secret man-made electromagnetic experiment being employed by someone in the world (perhaps the U.S. Air Force)? Or are they alien? Now a new concise and simple scientific analysis of the mystery will blow away the 1969 conclusion thanks to an amazing new discovery that will shock some readers. This book reveals for the first time the answer to the genuine UFO reports.

Book excerpt: NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Impeccably researched, this riveting journalistic investigation separates fact from fiction, and documents the unexplained mysteries of—and government reactions to—actual UFOs. “A treasure trove of insightful and eye-opening information.”—Michio Kaku, PH.D., bestselling author of Physics of the Future Leslie Kean, a veteran investigative reporter who has spent the past ten years studying the still-unexplained UFO phenomenon, reviewed hundreds of government documents, aviation reports, radar data, and case studies with corroborating physical evidence. She interviewed dozens of high-level officials and aviation witnesses from around the world. Among them, five Air Force generals and a host of high-level sources—including Fife Symington III, former governor of Arizona, and Nick Pope, former head of the British Defence Ministry’s UFO Investigative Unit—have written their own breathtaking, firsthand accounts about UFO encounters and investigations exclusively for this book. With the support of former White House chief of staff John Podesta, Kean lifts the veil on decades of U.S. government misinformation about this mysterious phenomenon and presents irrefutable evidence that unknown flying objects—metallic, luminous, and seemingly able to maneuver in ways that defy the laws of physics—actually exist. With a Foreword by John Podesta “The most important book on the phenomenon in a generation.”—Journal of Scientific Exploration “Written with penetrating depth and insight, the revelations in this book constitute a watershed event in lifting the taboo against rational discourse about this controversial subject.”—Harold E. Puthoff, PH.D., Director of the Institute for Advanced Studies at Austin “Kean presents the most accurate, most credible reports on UFOs you will ever find. She may not have the final smoking gun, but I smell the gunpowder.”—Miles O’Brien, science correspondent for PBS’s NewsHour
