Download or read book Aluminium Alloys written by Zaki Ahmad and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2012-12-05 with total page 371 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Aluminium alloys have undergone a dramatic transformation in areas of extrusion, machining, welding, heat treatment, structural changes, created by ultra fine particles and enhanced corrosion resistance. Hence, these alloys have made rapid gains in European automotive and space industry. These developments have been described by experts in the book with new data and attractive graphics. The effect of processing parameters, including welding and deep rolling on their performance have been highlighted to alleviate the concerns of manufacturers and designers for new applications. The novel role of aluminum alloys in photovoltaic cells and concentrated solar power has been comprehensively described in the context of corrosion and the aggressive environment to which they may be exposed. The book is designed to serve as a guide for future innovations and new developments in aluminium alloys.
Book Synopsis Advanced Approaches Applied to Materials Development and Design Predictions by : Abílio M. P. De Jesus
Download or read book Advanced Approaches Applied to Materials Development and Design Predictions written by Abílio M. P. De Jesus and published by MDPI. This book was released on 2020-03-25 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This thematic issue on advanced simulation tools applied to materials development and design predictions gathers selected extended papers related to power generation systems, presented at the XIX International Colloquium on Mechanical Fatigue of Metals (ICMFM XIX), organized at University of Porto, Portugal, in 2018. In this issue, the limits of the current generation of materials are explored, which are continuously being reached according to the frontier of hostile environments, whether in the aerospace, nuclear, or petrochemistry industry, or in the design of gas turbines where efficiency of energy production and transformation demands increased temperatures and pressures. Thus, advanced methods and applications for theoretical, numerical, and experimental contributions that address these issues on failure mechanism modeling and simulation of materials are covered. As the Guest Editors, we would like to thank all the authors who submitted papers to this Special Issue. All the papers published were peer-reviewed by experts in the field whose comments helped to improve the quality of the edition. We also would like to thank the Editorial Board of Materials for their assistance in managing this Special Issue.

Book Synopsis Fracture Resistance of Aluminum Alloys by : John Gilbert Kaufman
Download or read book Fracture Resistance of Aluminum Alloys written by John Gilbert Kaufman and published by ASM International. This book was released on 2001-01-01 with total page 235 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Annotation Kaufman prevents this summary of data on the fracture characteristics of aluminum alloys, broadly based on a publication by Alcoa in 1964, Fracture Characteristics of Aluminum Alloys. Coverage includes tensile properties as indicators of fracture behavior; notched-bar impact and related tests for toughness; notch toughness and sensitivity; tear resistance; fracture toughness; the interrelation of fracture characteristics; toughness at subzero and elevated temperatures; subcritical crack growth; and metallurgical considerations in fracture resistance. Most of the data is presented in only the English/engineering units, contrary to normal ASM International and Aluminum Association, Inc. policies. The author's credentials are not stated. c. Book Synopsis The Influence of Testing Parameters on Stress Corrosion Crack Growth in the High Strength Aluminium Alloy 7010-T651 by : L. Schra
Download or read book The Influence of Testing Parameters on Stress Corrosion Crack Growth in the High Strength Aluminium Alloy 7010-T651 written by L. Schra and published by . This book was released on 1996 with total page 60 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An interlaboratory testing programme to evaluate the rising displacement test for stress corrosion crack (SCC) growth investigations was carried out within the framework of the "Measurements and Testing" programme of the European Community under BCR contract nr. MATI CT 930038. The contribution of the NLR to the project consisted of testing of precracked Double Cantilever Beam (DCB) Specimens made from the high strength aluminium alloy 7010-T651 under constant displacement and by continuous immersion in substitute ocean water. The results of these static tests were to be used as reference data for the dynamic rising displacement tests carried out by other participants in the project. Further, additional static tests were carried out by the NLR using alternate y. Duriimmersion in substitute ocean water. The results of these tests were compared with those of 7010-T651 plate from another batch of material tested previously at the NLR.
