This book was released on 2023-04-03 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Employee sustainability and well-being have been increasingly important discussions in today’s business world. Businesses may have difficulty implementing a successful long-term policy due to a lack of knowledge, limited resources, and a short-term focus; however, the effects have shown a potential strategic and growth advantage. Promoting employee sustainability is an important step towards greater competitive advantage, creation of added value to the business, and a greater identity among society and within the organization itself. Developing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Policies for Promoting Employee Sustainability and Well-Being analyzes the current state of employee sustainability policies, systematizes the factors that promote a more sustainable and healthier workplace, explores the implications of diversity and inclusion practices on the well-being of employees, and collects policy options aimed at finding solutions to enhance well-being. Covering topics such as emotional health, organizational behavior, and work satisfaction, this reference work is ideal for academicians, researchers, scholars, practitioners, policymakers, business owners, managers, government officials, instructors, and students.

The authors review the empirical evidence for the BRICS’ modes of development cooperation and their geographical reach, and explore the historical background and patterns of international development engagement of each country. They also present a cutting-edge analysis of the broader geopolitical shifts, distinctive ideologies and normative discourses that are influencing and informing their engagement in increasingly ambitious joint projects such as the New Development Bank. This collection is essential reading for anyone seeking to understand the rapidly changing landscape of international development.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reclaiming Participatory Governance offers empirical and theoretical perspectives on how the relationship between social movements and state institutions is emerging and developing through new modes of participatory governance. One of the most interesting political developments of the past decade has been the adoption by social movements of strategies seeking to change political institutions through participatory governance. These strategies have flourished in a variety of contexts, from anti-austerity and pro-social justice protests in Spain, to movements demanding climate transition and race equality in the UK and the USA, to constitutional reforms in Belgium and Iceland. The chief ambition and challenge of these new forms of participatory governance is to institutionalise the prefigurative politics and social justice values that inspired them in the first place, by mobilising the bureaucracy to respond to their claims for reforms and rights. The authors of this volume assess how participatory governance is being transformed and explore the impact of such changes, providing timely critical reflections on: the constraints imposed by cultural, economic and political power relations on these new empowered participatory spaces; the potential of this new "wave" of participatory democracy to reimagine the relationship between citizens and traditional institutions towards more radical democratic renewal; where and how these new democratisation efforts sit within the representative state; and how tensions between the different demands of lay citizens, organised civil society and public officials are being managed. This book will be an important resource for students and academics in political science, public administration and social policy, as well as activists, practitioners and policymakers interested in supporting innovative engagement for deeper social transformation. Book excerpt: This book sets out to answer the call for the historic turn in organization studies through the development of an alternative methodology for history, one that we call ANTi-History. In responding to that call, this book contributes generally to the broad critique of the ahistorical nature of management and organization theory, but more specifically it sets out to address the need for more historicized research and in particular, alternative ways of writing and conceptualizing history. The application and theoretical development of ANTi-History is explored through the performance of a series of histories of Pan American Airways.
