Book excerpt: I knew that arming the general populace and their elected leadership with knowledge, verifiable knowledge, would change the game in New Mexico forever. Now here I was in the present gazing at Teresas rosary. Then abashedly upon the beauty of her body. She was real and it hadnt been a ghost chase. I was having some difficulty in processing the ramifications of finding her by the supernatural means I had used. In fact, I was attempting an inner self-assessment of my spiritual status. I had become a sorcerer to find my lover. Would she be? It was unlikely that she would choose to love a person like myself. ACTION / SUSPENSE / ADULT HISTORICAL FICTION For persons interested in shamanism... this book is a must! Gary Grief, Petroglyph Recorder/Archeologist and former Program Chair, Taos

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jennifer Ebenhack knows what it is to be broken down by circumstances. She and her husband Jarod had no idea their decision to adopt twins from Haiti would turn into eight years of life in that literal sun-scorched land. While those years of ministry involved joys and sorrows, life-threatening dangers and divine interventions, none of those years included any progress on their children's adoptions. But God saw it all. The exhaustion, anxiety, and especially the disintegration of all human hope in the wake of the 2010 Port-au-Prince earthquake. In a Sun-Scorched Land is a story of dead-ends turned to miracles; of desperation turned to peace. Though your story may differ, this is the story of all our lives: reaching the end of ourselves to find that God alone is our hope and the mover of mountains.

When in full bloom the sight is spectacular but it sadly only takes a week until the tree is bare. In a longer cycle of nations and business, we see, unfortunately, a similar pattern for Japanese Multinational Corporations.

Hubert of Hastings, a subject of Richard II of England (1367 – 1400), is shipwrecked upon a foreign shore. He discovers he is in a land the natives call TtahuatinSuyu, pronounced Tavantinsuyu, meaning “The Four Corners of the World.” Early 20th C. An eccentric collector, pottering around a houseful of antiques of dubious quality, spots an old chest -- and when he asks after it he's told it's not for sale...until, suddenly, it is. Buried in that wreck of a chest are the last relics of Hubert of Hastings, including his autobiography detailing the many adventures he had in this strange and mysterious land. He reads that Hubert ended up in America, the West coast of South America to be more precise. Hubert has many adventures and ends up conquering Peru -- and that's hardly the half of the tale and the race to find the truth about “Hubert of Hastings” is on. ================ KEYWORDS/TAGS: Aleys, ancient, balsa, beautiful, Blanche, Chanca, Atlantic, Pacific, company, Cuzco, daughter, Deleroy, England, English, French, Gold, golden, Grimmer, Huaracha, Hubert of Hastings, Hurachi, Inca, Kari, King, Lady, Larico, London, Lord, Lord-from-the-Sea, marriage, Master, Moon, mother, Peru, prince, Quilla, Robert, ship, South America, Amazon, Sun, sword, Tavantinsuyu, Thorgrimmer, Upanqui, Urco, Wave-Flame, white, H Rider Haggard, Action, Adventure, mystery, archaeology, investigate, Richard II, Potts, virgin, sun, oracle, Rimac

Book excerpt: In an adventure of a lifetime, Alexander Armstrong wraps up warm and heads ever north to explore the hostile Arctic winter – the glittering landscape of Scandinavia, the isolated islands of Iceland and Greenland, and the final frontier of Canada and Alaska. Along the way he learns from the Marines how to survive sub-zero temperatures by eating for England, takes a white-knuckle drive along a treacherous 800-mile road that's a river in summer and, with great reluctance, strips off for a dip in the freezing Arctic waters - and that’s all before wrestling Viking-style with a sporting legend called Eva as part of an Icelandic winter festival. Sharing the wonder of the Arctic in his inimitable style, Land of the Midnight Sun is a brilliantly entertaining travelogue that takes readers on an exhilarating and hilarious journey to the farthest reaches of the globe. Through his witty exploration of the region's remarkable landscape and lifestyle, and its even more remarkable people, Armstrong proves himself the ideal travel companion.

But those who lived the war still feel the sting and stigma of their wartime experiences. Knowing the history of a people helps one to understand them, giving rise to compassion rather than condemnation or alienation. This is also true for a people’s posterity to ensure negative history never repeats itself. Though the land’s rising sun is currently dimmed along its horizon, it will never be utterly extinguished and allowed to completely set because of the voices of those still crying out from it. Read on to discover the indigene experience of wartime Biafra through the eyes of a young nurse, chronicled in a historical fiction tribute.

Nizhoni knows he's a threat, but her father won't believe her. When Dad disappears the next day, leaving behind a message that says "Run!", the siblings and Nizhoni's best friend, Davery, are thrust into a rescue mission that can only be accomplished with the help of Diné Holy People, all disguised as quirky characters. Their aid will come at a price: the kids must pass a series of trials in which it seems like nature itself is out to kill them. If Nizhoni, Mac, and Davery can reach the House of the Sun, they will be outfitted with what they need to defeat the ancient monsters Mr. Charles has unleashed. But it will take more than weapons for Nizhoni to become the hero she was destined to be . . . Timeless themes such as the importance of family and respect for the land resonate in this funny, fast-paced, and exciting quest adventure set in the American Southwest.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Christopher Knowlton, author of Cattle Kingdom and former Fortune writer, takes an in-depth look at the spectacular Florida land boom of the 1920s and shows how it led directly to the Great Depression. The 1920s in Florida was a time of incredible excess, immense wealth, and precipitous collapse. The decade there produced the largest human migration in American history, far exceeding the settlement of the West, as millions flocked to the grand hotels and the new cities that rose rapidly from the teeming wetlands. The boom spawned a new subdivision civilization—and the most egregious large-scale assault on the environment in the name of “progress.” Nowhere was the glitz and froth of the Roaring Twenties more excessive than in Florida. Here was Vegas before there was a Vegas: gambling was condoned and so was drinking, since prohibition was not enforced. Tycoons, crooks, and celebrities arrived en masse to promote or exploit this new and dazzling American frontier in the sunshine. Yet, the import and deep impact of these historical events have never been explored thoroughly until now. In Bubble in the Sun Christopher Knowlton examines the grand artistic and entrepreneurial visions behind Coral Gables, Boca Raton, Miami Beach, and other storied sites, as well as the darker side of the frenzy. For while giant fortunes were being made and lost and the nightlife raged more raucously than anywhere else, the pure beauty of the Everglades suffered wanton ruination and the workers, mostly black, who built and maintained the boom, endured grievous abuses. Knowlton breathes dynamic life into the forces that made and wrecked Florida during the decade: the real estate moguls Carl Fisher, George Merrick, and Addison Mizner, and the once-in-a-century hurricane whose aftermath triggered the stock market crash. This essential account is a revelatory—and riveting—history of an era that still affects our country today.

His experience flying the cream of business jets is just what his new employer is looking for. He finds it necessary to adapt to his new environment and new associates. The new employer is General Arab Medical Service who supplies workers for the Saudi Arabian Military service. The job entails flying not only high ranking military, medical evacuation, but also members of the Royal Family. The missions are with a mixed crew of copilots, nurses/hostess, doctors, and engineers. Their nationalities are from all over the world. You need to know that in aviation, the world language is English. The mixup due to language difficulties are mostly humorous, but in at least one case almost deadly. A young man from Texas can be surprised from what he finds the people and customs are in New York on his first visit. A young man from New York can find the people and customs in Texas as surprising. A friend and I were standing on a sidewalk looking in a show window in Wichita Falls, Texas when a lady got out of her car and approached us. "Young man can I ask you a question?" "Why yes Mam, what is it." She pointed at my feet, "Don't those things hurt you're feet?" She was asking about the boots I was wearing. "Why no Mam they don't" She turned with look of not understanding and went back to her car which I noticed was wearing Ohio license plates. That was in 1942 and I still remember what my friend and I talked about later. "You reckon that lady never saw cowboy boots before?" "I don't know. Maybe she never saw a horse before." So many years later the same fellow sees people and customs that are completely strange. They speak English, and eat with a knife and fork (most do) and they want to imitate the western world very much. Of course I'm speaking of those that I came in personal contact with. As a reader you must remember their country was only born in 1932. It had no means of entering seriously into world commerce until oil was discovered. Then suddenly they as a country became very rich almost over night. The King made decisions without the help of a Legislature. So, he decided where the money went. The Royal Family got an early cut and infrastructure was on the early list as well. If there was a need for a road, he just told some contractor to build the road, "And make it out of concrete. That asphalt stuff just melts and runs away over here in the desert." Well, if you have roads then you need cars, so the King calls Japan and says, "Send me over a boat load of those little pickups you make." "Well, ok your Highness. What color do you want." "I don't know, just mix them up, Ok?" The Japanese boat arrived and the King tried to give them to the Bedouins from the desert. The nomads only accepted the white ones, all other colors were sent back to Japan. Everyone know that dark colors are no good in the heat. Do you find that humorous? Well, I do. But what do you expect? A tall apartment building in downtown Riyadh is standing empty on the day of my arrival and on the day of my departure. The King had it built for the Bedouins to use . . . for free. The occasion of celebrating the gift from the King, the Bedouins asked, "Where do we put our camels and goats?" "Well, you won't need them here." The gift was rejected straight-away (as the Brits say). Do you find that interesting? Well, I do. How about this. I asked one of my Saudi copilots, "What is your goal?" "What do you mean?" "I mean what are you working for. What do you hope for in the future?" "Oh, I see what you mean. Well, I'm saving my money to buy a camel and move out on the desert." "You mean you would leave your job in aviation, living in a house with indoor plumbing, electricity, and air conditioning to move into a tent in the desert?" "Sure, what's wrong with that?" Well, the time

Book excerpt: The AMAZING similarity of Native American INDIAN language to that of ancient ASIA. NOW, after 500 years, we can finally understand the rich language & landmarks used by the native "Indians." Words like Massachusetts, Michigan, Dakota, Missouri, tomahawk, Kimosabe, Kansas, Arizona, etc. Taking a broad-brush look at America's early natives, a whole new perspective of AMERICAN HISTORY is unfolded. A rich & surprising history! For the FIRST TIME, the Indian language is explained & the reasons for the enigmas of Indian history are reported. Where did the AZTECS say they came from? What does their name mean? The CAHOKIA mounds were the center of a Mississippi EMPIRE of the SUN. America was split up into two sides of the "KAN - Mississippi river." KANSAS & KENTUCKY sides. Why did Coronado fail to find the 7 golden cities of CIBOLA? CIBOLA is at last found & golden cities existed! Why did Columbus know that he was close to CHINA & JAPAN? Because the Caribbean, Mexico & the Americas used a similar unique ancient language. The Copernican theory boldly abandoned the concept of an earth-centered universe - this new bold hypothesis can dramatically change our social history perspective as well.
