Da es vielfältige Möglichkeiten der Anreizsetzung gibt, ist es das Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit, zu klären welche Formen immaterieller Anreize in Unternehmen zur Verfügung stehen und welche Motivationswirkungen diese aufweisen. Abschließend soll festgestellt werden, welche Instrumente bezüglich ihrer Effektivität und Praxisnähe Erfolg bieten. Dazu ist es zuerst notwendig zu klären, was Motivation bedeutet und welche Formen sie besitzt. In Verbindung hiermit werden zu Beginn grundlegende Motivationstheorien erläutert. Das dritte Kapitel befasst sich mit der Anreizsetzung und den immateriellen Anreizinstrumenten. Bei der Anreizsetzung wird auf die Gestaltung von Anreizsystemen und deren Ziele näher eingegangen, um im Anschluss daran dann verschiedene immaterielle Anreizinstrumente vorzustellen. Hierbei wird jedes Instrument einzeln erörtert und der Aspekt der Motivationswirkung beleuchtet. Anschließend werden Ergebnisse verschiedener Studien zu diesen immateriellen Anreizinstrumenten zusammengefasst, um deren Bedeutung in der Praxis zu verdeutlichen. Das Schlusskapitel fasst die Erkenntnisse der Arbeit letztendlich zusammen.

Dies erfolgt mit einem aktuellen Bezug auf die sich verändernden Bedürfnisse der Arbeitnehmerschaft. Es wurde untersucht, ob und inwiefern der Wertewandel der Gesellschaft eine Anpassung der Gestaltung von Anreizsystemen erforderlich macht. Dazu wurden die Bedürfnisse verschiedener Generationen im Arbeitsleben analysiert. Basierend auf den Ergebnissen dieser Analyse und repräsentativen Studien, wurden Trends in der Anreizgestaltung abgeleitet, die vermehrt einen immateriellen und nicht-monetären Charakter aufweisen. Auf diesen Erkenntnissen gestützt, wurden Handlungsempfehlungen für die Gestaltung von Anreizsystemem zur Mitarbeitermotivation in der heutigen Zeit gegeben.

Eine effektive Weiterentwicklung dieser Komponente stellt die Strategie der Integrierten Kommunikation dar, die den Informationsfluss auf allen Ebenen des Unternehmens aber auch die Kommunikation nach außen harmonisiert. Ziel der Integrierten Kommunikation ist es, die Glaubwürdigkeit des Unternehmens nach innen und nach außen zu steigern und gleichzeitig das Ergebnis der Unternehmung zu verbessern. Diese Arbeit soll die unterschiedlichen immateriellen und materiellen Instrumente der Mitarbeitermotivation darstellen und ihre Wirkungsmöglichkeiten aufzeigen. Als theoretische Grundlagen dienen die Inhaltstheorien und Prozesstheorien der Motivation. Den Schwerpunkt dieser Arbeit bildet innerhalb der immateriellen Instrumente das Thema Kommunikation und hier besonders die Integrierte Kommunikation als Instrument der Mitarbeitermotivation. Als Beispiel dient der Kommunikationsplan der „Basler Securitas Versicherungs-AG“ zur Fusion im Jahr 2003. Die theoretischen Annahmen dieser Diplomarbeit sollen durch die Darstellung der Ergebnisse eines Interviews mit dem Leiter der Abteilung Kommunikation der „Basler Securitas“ unterstützt werden.

Mitarbeiter werden zwar oft als die wichtigste Ressource des Unternehmens dargestellt, in der Praxis allerdings bleibt dies in den meisten Fallen nur ein Lippenbekenntnis. Das zeigen u.a. die Studien der Gallup GmbH. Eine Umfrage unter 1323 Befragten im Jahr 2011 ergab, dass nur 14 Prozent der Arbeitnehmer in Deutschland eine emotional hohe Bindung zu ihrem Unternehmen aufweisen. 63 Prozent waren nur gering an ihr Unternehmen gebunden und machten Dienst nach Vorschrift. Emotional nicht gebunden zu sein sowie innerlich bereits gekundigt zu haben, gaben 23 Prozent der Befragten an. Haufig fuhren Situations- oder Gestaltungsdefizite der Arbeitstatigkeit oder des Arbeitsplatzes zu einem Motivationsverlust beim Mitarbeiter. Eine verminderte Produktivitat und Leistungsfahigkeit sind die Folge. Verringert sich ausserdem die Arbeitszufriedenheit nimmt nicht nur die Gefahr steigender Fehlzeiten, sondern auch das Bedurfnis das Unternehmen zu wechseln, zu. Kosten, die sich gerade in Zeiten der Wirtschaftskrise negativ auf den Erfolg eines Unternehmens auswirken und die fur das weitere Uberleben am Markt entscheidend sein konnen. Angesichts des globalen Wettbewerbs verfugen Unternehmen auch in Zeiten von Kosteneinsparungen langst nicht mehr uber die finanziellen Mittel, die es erlauben, die Mitarbeitermotivation dauerhaft uber materielle Anreize, wie bspw. geldwerte Mittel, aufrecht zu erhalten. Unternehmen sollten deshalb verstarkt das Augenmerk auf die immaterielle Anreizgestaltung richten. In spite of repeated calls to action, including those of the World Health Organization (WHO), the pandemic continues to progress. WHO recently projected that if the current lifestyle trend in young and adult populations around the world persist, by 2012 in countries like the USA, health care costs may amount to as much as 17.7% of the GDP. Book excerpt: Two stars of contemporary architecture explore the unique handling of light and heat in the architecture of Burkina Faso Across the African continent, but especially in the sub-Saharan regions, the light has a particularly stark quality, which becomes most apparent in relation to older buildings. Before electricity, architecture was required to make use of the sun as a light source within a building, while also protecting its inhabitants from the heat. This resulted in vernacular architecture that features very few or small openings, which consequently render the inside of a building near pitch black, while the outside is illuminated by sunshine that bears down mercilessly. On the initiative of the lighting technology company Zumtobel Group, photographer Iwan Baan (born 1975) and architect Francis Kéré (born 1965) set out to capture how the sun's natural light cycle shapes vernacular architecture in Burkina Faso with little to no artificial light sources. They traveled to three exemplary locations: communal compounds in Gando; the main mosque of Bobo Dioulasso; and the terraced houses in Dano. Baan's pictures are accompanied by architectural sketches by Francis Kéré, who himself grew up in this light environment and whose architecture is inspired by it. The stunning photographs are printed using a special technique, to give a sense of being immersed in the very light conditions documented here.

It is founded on the theoretical work related to the German «Leistungsmotivationsinventar (LMI)» (Schuler & Prochaska, 2001) and enables users to test candidates for 17 different facets of achievement motivation. The theoretical conception of this test is based upon all common conceptualizations of the construct but for the first time integrates relevant social motives into a test measuring the construct of achievement motivation as well. Thus, in addition to traditional scales, e.g. Confidence in Success or Persistance, scales like Dominance or Status Orientation are integrated in the AMI. The AMI consists of 170 items to be responded by examinees on a 7-point-Likert format. Reliability: Reliability (Cronbach`s alpha) for the total score is α = .96 and ranges from α = .66 to α = .83 for single scales. Retest reliability is rtt = .94 for the total score and ranges from rtt = .71 to rtt = .89 for single scales.
