Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Meet Alex. Alex is a boy who doesn’t believe being a boy or a girl should determine how you think; he is just Alex. He lives near Midtown and travels over the bus network having adventures in some very unusual surrounding towns with his dog Blink, whose main aim in life is to sniff everything in the world and who dreams of being RocketDog. At the ends of the bus lines, they meet people who live in closed towns, they are either all black or white, gay or straight, religious or atheist, rich or poor, old or young, or very differently able. Alex can’t understand why they should live like this. He tries to get them to travel to Midtown, where they might be surprised by how people of all kinds can live together equally. Blink thinks they are all equally sniffable. If Alex is just Alex, perhaps they might realise they can just be themselves too, just equal individuals, with equally important mixtures of properties. I’m Just Me looks at how we all tend to label people, to place them in boxes, usually because of one main property: colour, gender, sexuality, mental or physical ability, wealth, religion, politics, class or age. BUT each property is a line and we are all a dot on every one of those lines somewhere. Where all the lines cross for us, we find our own point of individuality. If each point is equal, then WE MUST ALL BE EQUAL.

Book excerpt: Joan started writing in 1973 at a time when she was desperate, alone and faced with life-changing decisions. She started scribbling down her feelings on scraps of paper, and never stopped writing for the next 40 years. Her scribbling turned into her autobiography. An ordinary woman from London's East end, Joan lived an extraordinary life, becoming the youngest Mayoress ever. The first person to set up a computer dating service, she became a successful business-woman and a psychic counsellor, all whilst battling with the then-unknown problem of dyslexia. "I wrote my life-story from my gut, not my brain. I've never read a book in my life, and go to pieces when I have to write a letter." Joan did not have an easy life, but after painful loss and much sorrow and illness, she finds peace and fulfilment in dance. An inspiring life told with humour and a forgiving spirit.

Book excerpt: A book about the lust for life Rebecca is struck by lightning for seven times, the seventh time out in the open sea. This is really bad, since her yacht catches fire and sinks within just a few minutes. Rebecca, the heroine of the book, is bobbing like a cork in the meter-high waves. She is convinced that she won't be saved this time. This causes her to recall and reflect upon her life: her near-death experiences, her excessive sex life and the erotic experiences she has made all over the world, anecdotes, relationship issues, insights and wisdom. A life full of lust, joy and desperation, her search for a deeper understanding, for the real meaning of existence.

Book excerpt: THE SUNDAY TIMES NUMBER ONE BESTSELLER 'It will certainly raise what I call a smile in her thousands of fans' DAILY MAIL 'Miranda Hart will carry you along with the sheer force of her charm, bumbling cheer and charisma.' SUNDAY EXPRESS Well hello to you dear browser. Now I have your attention it would be rude if I didn't tell you a little about my literary feast. So, here is the thing: is it just me or does anyone else find that adulthood offers no refuge from the unexpected horrors, peculiar lack of physical coordination and sometimes unexplained nudity, that accompanied childhood and adolescence? Does everybody struggle with the hazards that accompany, say, sitting elegantly on a bar stool; using chopsticks; pretending to understand the bank crisis; pedicures - surely it's plain wrong for a stranger to fondle your feet? Or is it just me? I am proud to say I have a wealth of awkward experiences - from school days to life as an office temp - and here I offer my 18-year-old self (and I hope you too dear reader) some much needed caution and guidance on how to navigate life's rocky path. Because frankly where is the manual? The much needed manual to life. Well, fret not, for this is my attempt at one and let's call it, because it's fun, a Miran-ual. I thank you.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I'm not famous. I'm not a theologian. I'm not a Bible scholar. I'm not a pastor. I'm just a regular guy who tries his best to make sense out of the world he's living in, including my spiritual world. To most people, I'm just a nobody. But I'm a nobody who questions what people tell me until I can come to peace with it. I don't take anything at face value. That's the way God wired me. The first time I read the Bible, cover to cover, I had questions, a lot of them, forty typewritten pages worth. For instance, why does God get so angry? Does God ever change his mind? Is there only one way to get to heaven? Is it possible to please God? Did even Judas get saved? What about reincarnation? Will heaven disappear? Do you talk to dead people? Can you trust the Bible? Is Jesus really the son of God? And I had questions about things you hear many Christians say, like "God is in control," but is he? I had hundreds of these questions, and I wanted answers. That's what this book is about. It has been seventeen years in the making. I wanted answers, so I searched for them. I met with my pastor. I read books he recommended. I researched various theological views from trusted online resources. There were times I speculated my own answers because I couldn't find anything else to hang my hat on. Sometimes there simply were no answers. But I found out that it's not about getting the answers that's most important anyway. It's the search for the answers. Join me in that search. You might just find answers to some of your own questions.
