Book excerpt: This is the second volume of the annotated translation of Tsong Khapa’s Illumination of the Hidden Meaning (sbas don kun gsal), a magnificent commentary on the Cakrasamvara Tantra. This is the first English translation of this important work, which marked a milestone in the Tibetan understanding and practice of the Indian Buddhist tantras. It covers the vows, observances, and conduct of the initiated yogi, particularly in relation to the yoginis, whose favor he must cultivate. It describes in great detail the rites of the tradition, including homa fire sacrifice and the uses of the mantras of the mandala’s main deities. The author provides a trilingual English-Tibetan-Sanskrit glossary. Together with the present author’s related publications in this series—including a translation of the Cakrasamvara root tantra (2007) and critical editions of its Sanskrit and Tibetan texts (2012), and the first volume of this master Tibetan commentary (2017)—the reader will have the first full study of this important tantra available in English.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first in a two-volume annotated translation of Tsong Khapa's Illumination of the Hidden Meaning (sbas don kun sel). A magnificent and massive commentary on the Cakrasamvara Tantra, this is first English translation of a work that marks a milestone in the Tibetan assimilation of the Indian Buddhist tantras. This first volume, which includes Tsong Khapa's detailed introduction to chapters 1 to 24 of the 51 chapter root tantra, covers the history of the tradition, its interpretation, and a range of topics including the construction of the mandala, the consecration therein, and the decoding of mantras and their ritual applications, as well as extensive details concerning the clans of the yoginis and the procedures to win their favor. David B. Gray situates the work in context and explores in depth the sources used in composing this commentary. He also provides detailed notes, a trilingual English-Tibetan-Sanskrit glossary, and an appendix that includes a translation and a critical edition of the Laghusamvaratantrapatalabhisandhi, a synopsis of the Cakrasamvara Tantra composed by Sumatikirti, which is quoted in its entirety by Tsong Khapa in his commentary. This work will be followed by a second volume of the annotated translation subtitled Yogic Vows, Conduct, and Ritual Praxis (An Annotated Translation of Chapters 25-51) and a third volume that will include a critical edition of the entire Tibetan text. Published by American Institute of Buddhist Studies (AIBS)

Book excerpt: What makes the Book of Illumination stand out among other philosophical and or religious titles is its precision to math, definition, and it's deciphering of prophecy. There truly is no book like it, as it combines every major religion, history, prophecy, pop culture, as well as the occult, into one comprehensive record. It also, with the use of Kabbalah and sacred geometry, animates the lives of past mythological deities, and composites their lives with "stars" that are living today. The revelation given within the Book of Illumination is in direct alignment with New Age prophecy as well as the resurrection spoken of by Jesus. This resurrection is validated by Hinduism, the world's oldest religion, which is also the largest religion in the world that openly acknowledges and promotes reincarnation. Reincarnation, after reading the Book of Illumination, becomes fully realized. It is no longer a matter of theory, as again, the book proves with mathematics and sacred geometry, the existences of ancient celestial beings of folklore and mythology, who walk the earth today in the flesh.

Book excerpt: In his book of 1958: The Council of Seven Lights, George van Tassel produced a compilation of communications describing a reality that many of us are not familiar with. Much of the information is complex and was not easily understood. The subject matters include the cycling of twelve densities, the progressed evolution of planets, and the connection between gravity and electricity. He takes the reader far beyond our atmosphere to give technical data on the lines of energy, the conditions of space. He describes polarity, its positive and negative aspects, and applies theory to fact so the reader can understand every point he makes. The beginning of all creation has the same meaning as the ending of all creation, for all things have always existed and always will exist. Everything anyone has ever been or will ever be, he is now. This is a truth often overlooked in man's search for understanding. He forgets God was all there was, and therefore all there is now or will ever be. Van Tassel writes that religion and science are the same thing, the only difference being that they are two opposite viewpoints. Just as a wall is a wall regardless of which side one stands on, so are science and religion, life itself. According to Van Tassel, the Bible is an accurate history of events repeating themselves in cycles. He says there are predictions referring to spaceships throughout the Bible, among them the prophecy that there will be a day when the ships will come to take the people who are ready, leaving those who are not prepared to face the cataclysmic destruction inevitably approaching. This book explains the vortices of the human body that are responsible for the reasons that certain individuals affect one so strongly on meeting, a violent, a strong attraction without apparent cause, and also explain a person's effect on each others. In The Council of Seven Lights, the reader will ind many absorbing facets of knowledge - new data on atmospheric conditions, further information about space ships, and for the searcher who desires more understanding of the greater pattern of life, a philosophy well worth studying. Original text with almost 100 annotations. This title is the most comprehensive study on Van Tassel ever published, and illuminates every dimension of George Van Tassel's hidden symbolism behind his writings.Copy and paste the link for our books at: https: //saucerianbooks.blogspot.com/

Book excerpt: In her introduction, the author states that she does not accept the commonly held belief that illumination is for only a chosen few. Illumination, she states, is "a perfectly normal experience." Her purpose in writing this book is to reveal how we may experience illumination and live as illumined beings. The illumined one lives a normal life in every way-but without struggle, strain, and worry; without fear, sadness, or grief. As we perceive the nature of illumination, we witness its practicality in our daily affairs. But it does not stop here. This Truth is evidenced in and as the affairs of the world. The illumined are "the light of the world," and this light cannot be hidden. The author asks us to stop living on promises and hopes of a better world in the future and instead realize that God is All-now and here. This Truth, accepted and realized, is evidenced as the world as it is-not as it appears to be."Truly, the undivided Light is come, and we are the Light."

Book excerpt: Illumination is about the pain of awakening to something hidden -- a secret kept from us since the beginning of time itself. A secret that surrounds us with such obvious force that it is missed with common regularity. This Gnostic Handbook has a disturbing edge to it, a challenge to everything that most of us have been taught and believe. It alarms sensitivities and insults lifestyles. It will scare those who wish to make more of this world than it is, for it will intensely confront the idea that there is any real meaning in this dark place other than recognizing its shadow nature. But for others, this Handbook will be a fresh breeze blowing liberation and validation of what they already know to be true. It speaks of an 'alien' presence within that draws us to another reality beyond the scope and nature of this universe.

Book excerpt: This is the first complete, critical English translation of the Cakrasamvara Tantra, also known as the Sriherukabhidhana and Laghusamvara. This is the first complete, critical English translation of the Cakrasamvara Tantra. Composed in India during the eighth century, it is a foundational scripture of one of the most important Indian Buddhist tantric traditions. The translator’s introductory essay provides an analysis of the historical and intellectual contexts in which the Cakrasamvara Tantra was composed. The heavily annotated translation was made on the basis of the surviving Sanskrit manuscripts of the tantra and its commentaries, parallel passages in related explanatory tantras (vyakhyatantra), two different Tibetan translations of the root text, and several Tibetan commentaries. Includes a trilingual glossary and index. The author has also translated the commentary on this tantra by the great Tibetan scholar Tsong Khapa (1357–1419), Illumination of the Hidden Meaning, now published in two companion volumes. Taken together, these three volumes provide the reader with the first full study in English of this pivotal tantra. Composed in India during the late eighth or early ninth century, the Cakrasamvara Tantra is a foundational scripture of one of the most important Indian Buddhist tantric traditions, as evidenced by the vast number of commentaries and ritual literature associated with it. Along with the Hevajra Tantra, it is one of the earliest and most influential of the yogini tantras, a genre of tantric Buddhist scripture that emphasizes female deities, particularly the often fiercely depicted yoginis and ?akinis.

Book excerpt: The present work is the cornerstone of our Jey Yabsey Sungbum Collection, a subset of our Treasury of the Buddhist Sciences series. Comprised of the collected works of Tsong Khapa Losang Drakpa (1357–1419) and His Spiritual Sons, Gyaltsap Darma Rinchen (1364–1432) and Khedrup Gelek Pelsang (1385–1438), this Collection is a voluminous set of independent Tibetan treatises and supercommentaries, all based on the thousands of works contained in the Kangyur and Tengyur Collections. The Brilliant Illumination of the Lamp of the Five Stages (Rim lnga rab tu gsal ba’i sgron me) is Tsong Khapa’s most important commentary on the perfection stage practices of the Esoteric Community (Guhyasamāja), the Tantra he considered fundamental for the practice of the “Father Tantra” class of Unexcelled Yoga Tantras. It draws heavily on Nāgārjuna’s Five Stages (Pañcakrama) and Āryadeva’s Lamp that Integrates the Practices (Caryāmelāpakapradīpa), as well as a vast range of perfection stage works included in the Tibetan Kangyur and Tengyur collections. It is an important work for both scholars and practitioners. The annotated translation is supplemented with extensive glossaries and other support materials. A companion volume of the critically edited Tibetan text, annotated with the found quotes from Tengyur and Kangyur texts in Tibetan and Sanskrit where available.

Nagarjuna's renowned twenty-seven-chapter Fundamental Verses on the Middle Way (Mulamadhyamakakarika) is the foundational text of the Madhyamaka school of Mahayana Buddhist philosophy. It is the definitive, touchstone presentation of the doctrine of emptiness. Professors Siderits and Katsura prepared this translation using the four surviving Indian commentaries in an attempt to reconstruct an interpretation of its enigmatic verses that adheres as closely as possible to that of its earliest proponents. Each verse is accompanied by concise, lively exposition by the authors conveying the explanations of the Indian commentators. The result is a translation that balances the demands for fidelity and accessibility.

Book excerpt: In a very broad sense the historical development of computer graphics can be considered in three phases, each a giant step down the road towards "realistic" computer generated images. The first, during the late 1960's and early 1970's, can perhaps be characterized as the "wire frame" era. Basically pictures were composed of lines. Considerable em phasis was placed on "real time" interactive manipulation of the model. As models became more complex and as raster technology developed, eliminating the hidden lines or hidden surfaces from the image became critical for visual understanding. This requirement resulted in the second phase of computer graphics, the "hidden surface" era, that developed during the 1970's and early 1980's. The names associated with hidden surface algorithms read like a who's who of computer graphics. The cul mination of the hidden surface era and the beginning of the current and third era in computer graphics, the "rendering" era, was Turner Whitted's incorporation of a global illumination model into the ray trac ing algorithm. Now the goal was not just to generate an image, but to generate a realistic appearing image.
