Book Synopsis IGNORANCE SINS SUFFERINGS by : Rabindranath Mohanty
Download or read book IGNORANCE SINS SUFFERINGS written by Rabindranath Mohanty and published by Notion Press. This book was released on 2023-02-04 with total page 323 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What ails us? Why are we unhappy? Why do we suffer? The Upanishads call us Amritasya Putrah, scions of immortality. But we struggle to be happy. Why is it so? Where are we going wrong? This is because we do not know how to conduct ourselves in this world. Though we are endowed with divine virtues we do not practise it. Ignorance about Self has enveloped our intellect. Though we are born to be blissful we lead a life of misery. Our thought process is very important in this regard. When we think of something, we become the object of thought. Sadguru Sri Sri Arjn says, "Ignorance is the cause of sufferings." Ignorance leads to desire; desire leads to wrongdoings which leads to suffering. This book is a compilation of some of the spiritual discourses of Sadguru Sri Sri Arjun. He is the founder of Divya Darshan-The Philosophy Divine. Divya Darshan lays stress on living harmoniously in society by practising divine virtues and learning about Self to know one’s true nature. Sadguru Sri Sri Arjun says, “You never welcome woes but your ignorance brings them to you. You are absolutely divine. Therefore, pursue divine knowledge, desire only divinity, contemplate on divinity and then only divine bliss will be bestowed upon you.” He further says, "Knowledge paves the way to Dharma and Dharma to freedom (moksha).” Elucidating further he explains, "Knowing the Law of Eternity is knowledge and observance of the same is Dharma. Without self-knowledge it is impossible to attain bliss and freedom, the ultimate goal of everyone.”

Download or read book The God/Man/World Triangle written by R. Crawford and published by Springer. This book was released on 1997-10-06 with total page 245 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why is there a world? Does it reflect the presence of God in any way? Did the world spontaneously come into existence or is there a creator? How will it end? Does God Exist? Do religions give a coherent view of His existence and nature? Can we enter into relation with Him? Robert Crawford tries to answer these and other questions by arguing that religion and science complement one another and, while they use different sources and methods, insights can be gleaned from both concerning our nature, the world, and God. Major attention is given to Christianity because modern science arose in that context but the discussion includes the teachings of five other religions in the hope that we can also learn from them.

Book Synopsis Transcending Sorrow and Suffering (Trust-Test-Taste) by : Col. Bishan Singh
Download or read book Transcending Sorrow and Suffering (Trust-Test-Taste) written by Col. Bishan Singh and published by Partridge Publishing. This book was released on 2014-08-21 with total page 265 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Self realization is the key factor to transcend sorrow and sufferings. Sorrow and suffering are the products of mind which keeps weaving illusory and imaginary world at its own as it happens during the dream. Sorrow and sufferings are dissolved when one goes beyond mind through enriching consciousness, free of contents. Mind remains restless, disturbed and noisy when it is loaded with information and worldly knowledge. Non desiring and non wavering mind is required for total transformation to experience the joy and ecstasy of your divine nature. Living a self esteemed life empowers man with will, wisdom, self-confidence, inner power, purity, love, peace, joy, enthusiasm and compassion so that man strives without seeking and struggles without greed for a peaceful and harmonious living bringing order and discipline in the world, dissolving clash and conflict. This is the essence of ancient wisdom and an eternal thought which transformed man to go beyond human sorrows and sufferings. Transforming oneself is the greatest effort but most rewarding and paying. This wisdom has come to us from trustworthy and enlightened souls of the past. It had happened to them through total trust in their true being (divinity) which they experienced through testing it from within their own self and later tasted it by living life that way with total silence, joy and peace. You should also trust, test and taste.
Book Synopsis Without Buddha I Could Not be a Christian by : Paul F. Knitter
Download or read book Without Buddha I Could Not be a Christian written by Paul F. Knitter and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2013-01-01 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An honest, unflinching tale of re-finding one's faith, from one of the world's most famous theologians Without Buddha I Could Not Be a Christian narrates how esteemed theologian, Paul F. Knitter overcame a crisis of faith by looking to Buddhism for inspiration. From prayer to how Christianity views life after death, Knitter argues that a Buddhist standpoint can encourage a more person-centred conception of Christianity, where individual religious experience comes first, and liturgy and tradition second. Moving and revolutionary, this book will inspire Christians everywhere.
Book Synopsis Mazard's Version of Mason's Pali Grammar by : Francis Mason
Download or read book Mazard's Version of Mason's Pali Grammar written by Francis Mason and published by Eisel Mazard. This book was released on 2014-12-24 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A grammatical textbook for the Pali language with Burmese and Sinhalese script (alongside the Romanization), this edition offers a combination of the new (2015) and the old (1868), with some eccentric digressions into the Ashokan inscriptions, theories of the history and origins of the language, and anecdotes from an era when European archaeology and scholarship were (re-)discovering Theravada Buddhist philosophy. Mason's approach to the language is based in the ancient grammar of Kaccāyana, and reflects the first (pioneering) attempts of Europeans to explain the language to a western audience (often making comparisons to Latin, Greek and Sanskrit). This can be used in conjunction with the three other (free!) PDF textbooks for the Pali language available for download (at www.pali.pratyeka.org).
Book Synopsis Jesus Imandars and Christ Bhaktas by : Jonas Adelin Jørgensen
Download or read book Jesus Imandars and Christ Bhaktas written by Jonas Adelin Jørgensen and published by Peter Lang. This book was released on 2008 with total page 504 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The massive changes of Christianity during the 20th century raise the perennial question about its identity in a new, radical form. The author addresses the question of identity and asks how globalisation, religious pluralism, and the polycentric nature of Christianity affect Christian self-identification and theological reflection. First, religious life and theological reflection among believers in Jesus from Muslim and Hindu background in South Asia is presented in two empirical studies. Secondly, the findings are analysed and interpreted within a broad theoretical framework, drawing on models for syncretistic processes from history of religions, cultural anthropology, and Christian theology. Finally, the study concludes with a systematic-theological perspective on the interreligious hermeneutics underlying the changes of Christianity and discusses how interreligious hermeneutics might inform missiology as well as Christian theologies of religions and how this might challenge our understanding of the church's nature and mission. In conclusion, it is argued that a global, polycentric Christianity can be interpreted as fellowship created by the Spirit and centred on Christ.
