She couldn’t be more wrong. Her kingdom is in the hands of Myrddin, her friends are on the run, and her children are being hunted by the supernatural world. But that isn’t the worst of it. They aren’t just outlaws—they are fully grown adult outlaws. In the four days that passed while they were gone, twelve years have passed at home. Now Zoey, Danny, and Dev find themselves in the middle of a new war where they are hunted by old foes and former allies…some they could never have imagined would turn against them. As Myrddin’s plan becomes clear, Zoey realizes she just might hold the key to stopping him for good and reclaiming their kingdom. Doing so means risking it all to steal back an artifact out from under the wizard’s nose. The fate of everyone on the Earth plane hangs in the balance, and one wrong move could cost Zoey everything she loves.

Book Synopsis Hey, God! What Went Wrong and When Are You Going to Fix It? by : Samuel D. G. Heath
Download or read book Hey, God! What Went Wrong and When Are You Going to Fix It? written by Samuel D. G. Heath and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2009-05 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Awarded an American Legion Scholarship I am also an award winning author and have published numerous articles and books. Having attended several colleges and universities eventually earning my Ph. D. in Human Behavior I hold several life credentials in education earned during many years as an educator together with years spent working in the Aerospace Industry and other occupations. But to call Einstein's famous equation E=MC2 incomplete because it does not account for life and death does seem quite extraordinary, yet these remain the two greatest mysteries they have ever been denying us thus far a "theory of everything." The title of this book: "Hey, God! What went wrong and when are You going to fix it?" is a perfectly legitimate question and one that often comes to the minds of most of us. We know something animates life and departs with death, but what this "something" is not all our science has yet discovered, though things like the Large Hadron Collider may provide needed insight, and it has been in the pursuit of knowledge about these two greatest mysteries that has compelled me into so many varied academic studies and careers attempting to make sense of the world and our place in it and how people think and deal with the issues of life and death philosophically, religiously, and politically. The things I have discovered along the way compelled me to much research and speculation about these mysteries and how they impact our lives, to communicate my thoughts about them to others. But there are many things, some of them terribly wrong which we wish God would intervene and set right and question why He does not. Some years ago I removed from the greater part of society to live in semi-seclusion alone with my books and thoughts in a quiet part of the Sequoia National Forest devoting myself to contemplation, speculating about many things and committing my thoughts in writing fulltime. As a writer and author given to much introspection and fascinated by human behavior, nature, and our universe it was important to me to simplify my life as much as possible as anyone given to philosophical speculation about many things must. That much of my writing covers some metaphysical thoughts about God, angels and demons, an afterlife and Biblical stories of origins, of prophecies of the End Times and so much more have been absorbing studies as well and I freely share my thoughts about these in this volume.

Seductive, haunting and beautiful." —Willa Reece, author of Wildwood Magic A drowned town. A damning secret. The ghostly chill of memory...and three women who must face the past in order to bring light to an old Southern town lost deep beneath the surface. Prosper, Arkansas had not always been this way. Years ago, at the height of the summer swelter, in the wake of an unexpected storm, the local dam failed and the valley flooded—drowning the town and everyone trapped inside. The secrets of old Prosper drowned with them. Now, decades later, when a mysterious locked box is pulled from the depths of the lake, three descendants of that long-ago tragedy are hurled into another feverish summer. Cassie: the reclusive sole witness to an impossible horror no one believes. Lark: a wide-eyed dreamer haunted by bizarre visions. June: caught between longing for a fresh start and bearing witness to the ghosts of the past. Bound together, all three must contend with their home's complex history—and with the ruins of the town lost far beneath the troubled water. Also By Quinn Connor: The Pecan Children

Book Synopsis Into the Slave Nebula by : John Brunner
Download or read book Into the Slave Nebula written by John Brunner and published by Gateway. This book was released on 2011-09-29 with total page 122 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It was carnival time on Earth. Prosperity was at its peak; science had triumphed over environment; all human needs were taken care of by computers, robots and androids. There was nothing left for humans to do but enjoy, themselves . . . to seek pleasure where they found it, without inhibitions and without thinking of the price. Then an android died - in a senseless, brutal murder. And young Derry Horn was shocked out of his boredom and alienation. His life of flabby ease had not prepared him for a fantastically dangerous mission to outlying, primitive stars - but now, at last, he had a reason for living. And even when he found himself a prisoner of ruthless slavers, even when he learned the shocking truth about what the androids really were and where they came from . . . even when he saw all the laws of the orderly, civilised universe he knew turned upside-down and inside-out . . . he fought on. For that universe had to be shattered and reborn - even if Derry Horn and the Earth he had irrevocably left behind died in the process! (First published 1968)

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Scotch and Water is a story about the sea phase of rum-running on Puget Sound from British Columbia, Canada, to Seattle, Washington, during the years 1920 to 1926. The only effective barrier was one small antiquated Coast Guard cutter, the Sentinel. It was described as a donkey chasing gazelles. However, due to the honesty and cunning of the cutters captain, Karl Hirsch, the Sentinel compiled a record of captures matched by no other seagoing unit in the Northwest. This is a story of characters violating an unjust lawthe intrigue, pursuits, the loves and the lives of the participants, and the disastrous results for nearly all.
