Book Synopsis Dynamic Prayers, Changed Lives by : Kelly Ann Evers
Download or read book Dynamic Prayers, Changed Lives written by Kelly Ann Evers and published by Kelly Ann Evers. This book was released on 2018-01-12 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I want you to know abuse is never okay – EVER! And I promise you, God will NOT let the abuser get by with it. God’s love for you is so deep and so intense, that the pain you experience, He experiences. When you cry, He cries. When you hurt, He hurts. He knows your pain and suffering is very real and very damaging. God has a lot to say about verbal, physical, mental, financial and sexual abuse. After reading this book you will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God has a zero tolerance for abuse. In fact, over 1000 Scriptures talk about abuse. He wants you to know that regardless of what you’ve been told or shamed into believing, God does not condone abuse ever. And God Himself says it’s not okay – ever! I know you will cherish the precious words of God as He reveals His heart to you throughout this book. As a result, readings and meditating on the Scriptures in this book, you will experience total freedom and lasting joy. And that freedom is the most wonderful thing you will ever experience – I promise! God sees your pain. T here is not one tear shed that He doesn’t see. Not one hurt or pain that doesn’t go unnoticed. Not one violent act that hasn’t been recorded. God Himself says that He will wipe away every tear. He will not send someone to wipe your tears … He will wipe away every tear Himself. He says that there will be no more mourning, no more sorrow and no more pain. He says He will make everything brand new. God is devastated by the abuse done to you. He is not only devastated by it, but feels the pain you’ve felt. There is a Greek word, “splagchnizomai” that is used in conjunction with the compassion of Jesus. Whenever Jesus was going to heal someone, this word is used. The best way to describe this word would be Jesus actually enters into the pain someone is suffering. His love is so deep that He actually experiences the same identical pain or emotion we feel. He was so deeply moved with compassion that their pain is His pain, and through that deep level of compassion He is able to heal. This is what Jesus is doing with you this very moment. As He sees your tears and witnesses the abuse done to you – it is equivalent to the abuser abusing Jesus. He feels your pain fully, and He is devastated by it. No one can ever really understand the pain we feel, even someone who has endured the same abuse – but the Almighty God does. He sees your hurts, your pain, the sorrow and He says, He is coming and He will take it away. Did you ever cry out to God begging, pleading, wishing He’d help, intervene? He promises that by no means will He let the guilty go unpunished. There is no wrong done by an unrepentant sinner that will be erased. Everyone who has wronged you, will be held accountable for all that has been done to you. This promise book has been created to introduce you to my God, the God of Justice and the God of Protection.

Book Synopsis If You Love Me by : Maureen Cavanagh
Download or read book If You Love Me written by Maureen Cavanagh and published by Henry Holt and Company. This book was released on 2018-09-04 with total page 227 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Maureen Cavanagh’s gripping memoir If You Love Me is the story of a mother who suddenly finds herself on the frontlines of the opioid epidemic as her daughter battles—and ultimately reckons with—substance use disorder. Fast-paced and heartwarming, devastating and redemptive, Maureen’s incredible odyssey into the opioid crisis—first as a parent, then as an advocate—is ultimately a deeply moving mother-daughter story. When Maureen and her ex-husband Mike see their daughter Katie’s needle track marks for the first time, it is a complete shock. But, slowly, the drug use explains everything—Katie’s constant exhaustion, erratic moods, and all those spoons that have gone missing from the house. Once Mike and Maureen get Katie into detox, Maureen goes to sleep that night hoping that in 48 hours she’ll have her daughter back. It’s not that simple. Like the millions of parents and relatives all over the country—some of whom she has helped through her nonprofit organization—Maureen learns that recovery is neither straightforward nor brief. She fights to save Katie’s life, breaking down doors on the seedy side of town with Mike, kidnapping Katie outside a convenience store, and battling the taboo around substance use disorder in her picturesque New England town. Maureen is launched into the shadowy world of overcrowded, for-profit rehabilitation centers that often prey on worried parents. As Katie runs away from one program after another, never outrunning her pain, Maureen realizes that even while she becomes an expert on getting countless men and women into detox and treatment centers, she remains powerless to save her own daughter. Maureen's unforgettable story brings the opioid crisis out of the shadows and into the house next door.

Download or read book Wander Woman written by Marcia Reynolds and published by Berrett-Koehler Publishers. This book was released on 2010-06-14 with total page 267 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Presents fresh research and powerful stories to give voice to a new generation of women driven by challenge and change Offers compelling advice on how to make wandering a life strategy, not just a series of unplanned events Includes probing questions and thought-provoking exercises to help readers find peace in life's chaos and confusion 2011 Axiom Award Gold Medal winner in the category of Women in Business There’s a new generation of high-achieving women today—confident, ambitious, accomplished, driven. And yet, as master coach Marcia Reynolds discovered, many of them are also anxious, discontented, and frustrated. They’re constantly questioning their purpose, juggling multiple roles, and reevaluating their goals. As a result they’re restless—they move from job to job, from challenge to challenge, almost on impulse. They’re wander women. Existing personal growth books, so focused on empowerment and encouragement, can’t help these women. They don’t need to find their voice—they know how to roar. They don’t expect balance in their lives—but they long to find peace in the chaos. They aren’t necessarily focused on gaining a seat in the boardroom—they want projects that mean something or businesses they run on their own. Reynolds helps wander women understand the roots of their restlessness and make their wandering a conscious strategy, not a reaction. Drawing on extensive research and interviews she illuminates the needs that drive their decisions and the core assumptions that lock them into rigid perfectionist patterns. She offers a wealth of exercises and practices that will enable wander women to reset their mental programming, discover new ways of finding direction, and thoughtfully choose and plan their futures, whether they climb the corporate ladder, find satisfaction below the glass ceiling, or set out on their own. For every woman plagued by frustration and self-doubt—“Will what I’ve done ever feel good enough?”—Wander Woman sets the stage to uncover the answers to life’s tough questions about meaning and purpose, significance and value, and the legacy you can leave from a life lived well.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I probably watch too much news, read too many newspapers, magazines, and blogs, and have too many conversations with people about politics. Often in my mind, I consider myself better than politicians. I may be better than some but not all of them. What I notice is that I make similar mistakes to those in charge. Because of this, I'm willing to say I'm not perfect. And I have the experiences to prove it. Join me in a journey to tell people why I should not run for public office, nor should I receive any write-in votes in the next election. If you do opt for writing my name in on your ballot and are uncertain how, ask for assistance from the helpful people at your voting location and write in my full name, James E. Collins. You may not change an election, but maybe it will change your outlook, knowing that you can vote for whom you want to, not someone you are being told to vote for. As an afterthought, please don't tell me about ending a sentence with a preposition. I tend to do that.
Book Synopsis Grace: Telling It Like It Is by : Erin L McConnell
Download or read book Grace: Telling It Like It Is written by Erin L McConnell and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-11-03 with total page 95 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Grace: Telling It like It Is is a collection of life stories from people who live all over the world paired with inspired designs that readers are free to color in any way they desire. Whether you are dealing with an addiction, struggle of infertility, the loss of a child, or other difficult life experiences, the hope is that you can find some comfort and encouragement while reading this book. Several men and women who have lived through horrible ordeals have been gracious enough to share their stories with me in the hopes that their own personal stories will inspire the reader. Those who have contributed to this book have surrendered their lives to the God of the universe and desire to share their stories with others in need of motivation. They are eager for their stories to touch others' lives and make a difference. Most importantly, this book stands as a guide to help those hurting and broken to know that they are not alone. Jesus has taken all of your brokenness and hurt onto Himself. For those who are grieved and tormented needing to feel God's love or who don't know God, this book is for you. These stories are about God's marvelous and, in some cases, miraculous action in the lives of ordinary, everyday people""people living normal lives but trusting God to enable them to do wonderful things for His kingdom. Most are living lives that are far better than what they ever imagined possible. This book is about how God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things. It is believed that this book will uplift the reader to live their lives and go after the heart of God so that He can use them to do things they never imagined possible. This book is meant to show those who don't know God what exactly His love for His children looks like. God is love and the love He has for His children is more than anyone can imagine, and the prayer of this book is that others see that love.
