How will the universe end? What existed before the stars? Does your life have any meaning? Does God know me and care for me? What was God's first gift to the world? Is God still involved with both Mankind and Creation? Can you believe in the Big Bang and still be a Christian? The answers to your questions, the questions that tear apart religious denominations, and the questions of the ages are truly right in front of you.At one time many scientists were inspired by God's creation and attributed the fixed natural laws to the Creator. The Bible was inspiration and guided them under a set of ethical standards into life's major questions and search for knowledge. Now, to raise Biblical points, embrace a Christian worldview and its teachings, a Christian is ridiculed and dismissed as ignorant by a very large portion of scientists. This new book, I Am, the Great Creator God, has the opportunity to bring the Christian and the scientists closer together.

Book excerpt: An invitation for overachievers to discover what it means to rest as God's daughters without compromising their God-given design as doers. Are you a Martha who feels guilty for not being a Mary? Do you want to sit at Jesus’s feet as Mary did—but you feel the need to get things done? In Made Like Martha, Katie M. Reid invites you to exchange try-hard striving for hope-filled freedom without abandoning your doer’s heart in the process. Through her own story and rich biblical illustrations, Katie reminds you that it’s not important whether you sit and listen or stand and work. What matters is that your spiritual posture is one of a beloved daughter who knows she doesn’t need to earn God’s love. Your desire to get things done is not something to temper but something to embrace as you serve from a place of strength and peace—knowing Christ already did His most important work for you on the cross. With “It Is Finished” activities at the end of each chapter and a fiveweek Bible study included, Made Like Martha helps you find rest from striving even as you celebrate your God-given design to “do.” “Made Like Martha will infuse your life with a fresh perspective as you learn both to embrace your God-given personality and also discover how—and when—to rest and retreat.” —Karen Ehman, Proverbs 31 Ministries speaker and New York Times bestselling author of Keep It Shut

Book excerpt: Southwestern Journal of Theology 2021 Book of the Year Award (Theological Studies) 2021 Book Award, The Gospel Coalition (Honorable Mention, Academic Theology) Following his well-received Interpreting Scripture with the Great Tradition, Craig Carter presents the biblical and theological foundations of trinitarian classical theism. Carter, a leading Christian theologian known for his provocative defenses of classical approaches to doctrine, critiques the recent trend toward modifying or rejecting classical theism in favor of modern "relational" understandings of God. The book includes a short history of trinitarian theology from its patristic origins to the modern period, and a concluding appendix provides a brief summary of classical trinitarian theology. Foreword by Carl R. Trueman.

Book excerpt: Why is God's beauty often absent from our theology? Rarely do theologians take up the theme of God's beauty—even more rarely do they consider how God's beauty should shape the task of theology itself. But the psalmist says that the heart of the believer's desire is to behold the beauty of the Lord. In The Beauty of the Lord, Jonathan King restores aesthetics as not merely a valid lens for theological reflection, but an essential one. Jesus, our incarnate Redeemer, displays the Triune God's beauty in his actions and person, from creation to final consummation. How can and should theology better reflect this unveiled beauty? The Beauty of the Lord is a renewal of a truly aesthetic theology and a properly theological aesthetics.

Book excerpt: The author of Desiring God reveals the biblical evidence to help us see and savor what the pleasures of God show us about Him. Includes a study guide for individual and small-group use. Isn’t it true—we really don’t know someone until we understand what makes that person happy? And so it is with God! What does bring delight to the happiest Being in the universe? John Piper writes, that it’s only when we know what makes God glad that we’ll know the greatness of His glory. Therefore, we must comprehend “the pleasures of God.” Unlike so much of what is written today, this is not a book about us. It is about the One we were made for—God Himself. In this theological masterpiece—chosen by World Magazine as one of the 20th Century’s top 100 books, John Piper reveals the biblical evidence to help us see and savor what the pleasures of God show us about Him. Then we will be able to drink deeply—and satisfyingly—from the only well that offers living water. What followers of Jesus need now, more than anything else, is to know and love—behold and embrace—the great, glorious, sovereign, happy God of the Bible. “This is a unique and precious book that everybody should read more than once.” —J.I. PACKER, Regent College, Vancouver, British Columbia

In this 8-session video Bible study (streaming included), enter the creation of the world and the first movements of God's perfect plan to deliver his people. Throughout the Bible—from its very first pages to the culmination of Christ's return—there are two parallel dramas unfolding: The lower story, which describes the events from our human perspective. The upper story, which reveals how the events unfold from God's perspective. The objective of God the Creator—the first in a series of three small-group studies in The Story series—is to introduce you to these lower and upper stories as told in the Old Testament books of Genesis through Ruth. As you read these narratives—featuring characters such as Adam, Eve, Abraham, Sarah, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Gideon, and Ruth—you will see how God has been weaving our lower story into the greater upper story that he has been writing. This study guide has everything you need for a full Bible study experience, including: The study guide itself—with discussion and reflection questions, video notes, and Scripture readings. An individual access code to stream all eight video sessions online (you don't need to buy a DVD!). Sessions include: The Beginning of Life as We Know It (Genesis 1–11) God Builds a Nation (Genesis 12–36) From Slave to Deputy Pharaoh (Genesis 37–50) Deliverance (Exodus 1–17) Wanderings (Exodus 18–Numbers 27) The Battle Begins (Joshua 1–24) A Few Good Men . . . and Women (Judges 1–21) The Faith of a Foreign Woman (Ruth 1–4) The God the Creator Study Guide is part of The Story Bible Study Series: a three-part Bible study drawn from Randy Frazee's bestselling The Story, which reveals the Bible as a single, continuous narrative of God and his people. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cynthia Crysdale and Neil Ormerod here present a robust theology of God in light of supposed tensions between Christian belief and evolutionary science. Those who pit faith in an almighty and unchanging God over against a world in which chance is operative have it wrong on several accounts, they insist. Creator God, Evolving World clarifies a number of confused assumptions in an effort to redeem chance as an intelligible force interacting with stable patterns in nature. A proper conception of probabilities and regularities in the world's unfolding reveals neither random chaos nor a predetermined blueprint but a view of the universe as the fruit of both chance and necessity. By clarifying terms often used imprecisely in both scientific and theological discourse, the authors make the case that the role of chance in evolution neither mitigates God's radical otherness from creation nor challenges the efficacy of God's providence in the world.

Book excerpt: I was inspired to write the book RADICALLY CHANGED as a result of my being exposed to people in the downtown eastside skid row of a large city. Men and women come to the downtown eastside skid row with problems that often seem insurmountable. Many have addictions while, others are traumatized or victimized with little self esteem or self worth. They try to drown their sorrows with mind altering substances. Others have horrible nightmares as a reminder of something often horrendous that had happened to them or to a loved one. There are those who have done something which they regret. They are sorry but often plagued with memories of what they have done or failed to do. Men and women abused and beaten down are appalled by what they have suffered at the hands of people they trusted and respected. Some contemplate suicide in order to end their dependance on drugs or memories which impede their ability to function adequately in society. the Mission, on the worst street in the country, is a gathering place for those who are plagued with these problems. It is a safe place in the bowels of a hellish existence for many who are forced to live and interact in this setting and sub culture. When they enter the Mission they feel the caring and concern of the staff and the students from the Bible College. These are loving persons ready to brighten their day, listen to their sordid stories and tell them about Jesus who is their hope. Those who respond to the invitation and go to the Bible College are rewarded with knowledge and insight into methods of recovering and becoming new creations. Many have become radically changed. Their life changing adventures are exposed in the pages of this inspirational book.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God is so, so good! He never stops showering his love, his mercy, and his compassion on us in so many, many ways. The Lord gives, and I take. It doesn’t sound too good for us, does it? I could spend the rest of my life writing about what God gives to each one of us even to those who do not walk with the Lord. His hand is continually pouring out. Most of us do not think about it, or we ignore it. And if we do, we look at it with very dim-sighted eyes. Much of our time is spent on the expectations of what we want from him. But he gives, and he gives, and he gives. And the reality is, we take, and we take, and we take. We take all that God supplies with very little thankfulness to him. We are greedy, and we expect so much, and the truth is, we are so undeserving. Can we ever pay God back? Never...never...never. But we can recognize, appreciate, embrace, and be thankful for what he has done, is doing, and will do by honoring him and living our lives in his love and in service to him, worshipping and giving him all the glory and bringing to light his word to those who don’t know him. I stand in awe and amazement at the Lord’s grace for humankind. He holds all together for us. Be brought back to the beauty, the awe, and the wonder of God! May we change the casualness in our hearts and minds that we take toward him and begin to develop a view of his awesome mercy and grace. Join me in plunging into the depths of his goodness.
