Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the book I Am Someone Special, the author shares the story of her dysfunctional childhoodher journey through the road of drug addiction and drug dealing and how she struggled to leave her dark past behind and move on to a new and better life. Ms. Hernandez did not experience the kind of childhood others enjoy by being adopted into a wealthy, well-off family. She failed to receive the affection she wanted from her parents, particularly from her adoptive mother. The author was the youngest among seven children and the one who received the worst treatment from her alcoholic mother, who was also addicted to drugs. Her birthmother had stabbed her in the head when she was a nine-month-old baby. After an incident that almost robbed the author of her life, she was placed into an orphanage, where her adoptive parents rescued her. The authors adoptive family gave her the love she had long wanted, along with everything she and her adopted brother and sister could ask for. But despite it all, Ms. Hernandez became rebellious, especially as a teenager. Her rebellious teenage years eventually led her to the wrong path as she started using drugs and selling it as well. She worked further into the drug business until she got caught and sentenced for a couple years in prison. After serving her sentence, the author strived to live a clean life and start anew. With the help of her faith in God and the support of the man she loves, she managed to reinvent herself into a better and strong person. I Am Someone Special might appeal to a reader interested in stories that have changed the lives of individuals who recovered from drug addiction and made the decision to rebuild their lives away from drugs. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Imagine everything that you thought you knew about life being challenged. You now question the best way to do things. You look at what makes things easy or difficult with a new perspective. Now imagine that the person responsible for this is your child. Typically, that is not abnormal. We always look at things with a sense of wonder and magic when our children are small. Now consider what it would be like if this stage of life never stopped. This book is about my experiences navigating life with my daughter starting with first discovering that she was someone special as an infant through her high school years. We faced many challenges. Some of them came from others while some challenges were self-inflicted. When dealing with someone who perpetually sees things from a different perspective, you have to adjust your responses. What you don't realize as a parent is that others do not understand the importance of operating from that alternative perspective. You will never look at things the same again. They have never had someone totally melt down over something that to most is seemingly simple. They do not understand that the things that most normal people value are not the same things that some with disabilities value. It is my hope with this book that others will get a glimpse into the lives of those who are special and the people who love and care for them.

Book excerpt: On 21st April 1926, three baby girls are born. In North Wales, Hester Coburn, a farm labourer's wife, gives birth to Nell, whilst in Norwich, in an exclusive nursing home, Anna is born to rich and pampered Constance Radwell. And in London, Elizabeth, Duchess of York, has her first child, Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Mary. The future looks straightforward for all three girls, yet before Nell is eight, she and Hester are forced to leave home, finding work with a travelling fair. Anna's happy security is threatened by her father's infidelities and her mother's jealousy, and the Princess's life is irrevocably altered by her uncle's abdication. Set in the hills of Wales and the rolling Norfolk countryside, the story follows Nell and Anna through their wartime adolescence into young womanhood as they struggle to overcome their problems, whilst watching 'their' Princess move towards her great destiny. Only when they finally meet do the two girls understand that each of them is 'someone special'.

With low grades that make him look like nothing compared to his sisters, mediocre baseball skills and not acting like his true self at school. Only acting like himself in front of his best friend, Macy Fergensen, who had feelings for him since they were kids that he fails to see, does Zayn truly feel alone. It isn’t until the popular girl, Michelle Aprils, takes notice of him after his first home run, that he finally feels seen. Nothing in life, especially high school is ever that easy as something happens at a party at Michelle’s that changes how Zayn views Macy. But also changes her perception of him due to how he treats her and a huge secret that finally comes out. When Zayn truly evaluates his relationship with Michelle and decides to go for Macy, she distances herself from him and gets close with his cousin, the sweet and charming J. P Trent. This forces Zayn to befriend the sassy, lost girl, who eats her lunch on the floor by the cafeteria doors, Lex Fisher. Will Zayn and Macy find their way back to each other, or just like Zayn’s home run, will the unexpected happen?
