Book excerpt: I have written this book, actually, to, once again, remind everyone what love, romance and even some action and battles people face to survive any obstacles on their way to success and of our two young people in love. There will also be Martial Arts and plenty of action and strive to win in this complicated everyday life, thus, whoever reads this story will never get bored or uninterested while reading the whole story TO THE END. The Music is also written and composed by the author as he is a Music teacher and a Martial Arts teacher. This book is based upon Love, Romance, Action and Suspense as it takes us into Love Triangles, Drugs, Drug lords and Martial Arts scenes. The suspense escalates as it unites also two of the World's most important cultural nations of its historical time. There will also be an attempt on the life of our Martial Arts Hero. It even has some Terrorists trying to capture a whole ship cruiser for their cause and, thus, more action unfolds as our heroes try to regain the cruiser and free it from the Terrorists. The most important fact is the Love, Romance and Strife these two people have to face in order to survive it all.

Download or read book Voices of Labor written by Michael Curtin and published by Univ of California Press. This book was released on 2017-03-03 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The film industry in Hollywood now employs a global mode of production run by massive media conglomerates that mobilize hundreds, sometimes thousands, of workers for each feature film or television series. Yet these workers and their labor remain largely invisible to the general audience. In fact, this has been a signal characteristic of Hollywood style for more than a hundred years: everything that matters happens onscreen, not off. Consequently, when it comes to movies and television, the voices heard most often are those belonging to talent and corporate executives. Those we hear least are the voices of labor, and it's that silence we aim to redress in the collection of interviews in this book. Drawing from the detailed and personal accounts in this collection, we offer three interrelated propositions about the current state and future prospects of craftwork and screen media labor: 1. Craftwork exists within an intricate and intimate matrix of social relations. 2. Hollywood craftwork today constitutes a regime of excessive labor. 3. Screen media production is a protean entity. We organized the collection into three sections: company town, global machine, and fringe city. The first section refers to Hollywood's historic roots as a core component of the motion picture business. The second section engages more directly with the spatial dynamics of film and television production to underscore the economic and political structures that are integrating distant locations into the studios' mode of production. We close with a section on the visual effects sector, in which stories shared by vfx artists, advocates, and organizers specifically illustrate how the industry today relies on marginal institutions to sustain its power and profitability"--Provided by publisher.

Download or read book Stork Mountain written by Miroslav Penkov and published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux. This book was released on 2016-03-15 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Stork Mountain tells the story of a young Bulgarian immigrant who, in an attempt to escape his mediocre life in America, returns to the country of his birth. Retracing the steps of his estranged grandfather, a man who suddenly and inexplicably cut all contact with the family three years prior, the boy finds himself on the border of Bulgaria and Turkey, a stone's throw away from Greece, high up in the Strandja Mountains. It is a place of pagan mysteries and black storks nesting in giant oaks; a place where every spring, possessed by Christian saints, men and women dance barefoot across live coals in search of rebirth. Here in the mountains, the boy reunites with his grandfather. Here in the mountain, he falls in love with an unobtainable Muslim girl. Old ghosts come back to life and forgotten conflicts, in the name of faith and doctrine, blaze anew. Stork Mountain is an enormously charming, slyly brilliant debut novel from an internationally celebrated writer. It is a novel that will undoubtedly find a home in many readers' hearts.
Book Synopsis A Unique Destiny by : Simeon II of Bulgaria
Download or read book A Unique Destiny written by Simeon II of Bulgaria and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2021-10-15 with total page 317 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During World War II, most of Europe’s last monarchies collapsed. Under Tsar Boris III, Bulgaria had been a reluctant ally of Hitler’s Germany, refusing to send troops to fight the Soviets and resisting the Holocaust. But after Boris died in 1943, the Red Army entered the country, and communists executed much of the royal family and sent the boy-tsar, Simeon II, into exile, first to Turkey and Egypt, then to Spain. In 2001, Simeon was elected prime minister of Bulgaria in a landslide that swept out the country’s two major parties. The crown jewel of his time in power was bringing Bulgaria into NATO. He peacefully left power in 2005. In the first English translation of this colorful memoir, Simeon—the world’s last tsar and one of two living heads of state from World War II (with the Dalai Lama)—recounts with honesty and humor an eventful life from Bulgaria to Spain and the United States, and back to Bulgaria, and into the world. His life’s story includes crossing paths with Queen Elizabeth II of England, the Shah of Iran, General Franco of Spain, Hassan II of Morocco, and many other royalty, as well as helping to integrate Bulgaria into a new democratic global system.
