Book excerpt: "Men, if all you're looking for is a woman who smokes, frequents bars and has sex with any man she likes, then you need to read this book." -Literary R&R Are you shy around beautiful women? Do you break out in a cold sweat at the thought of approaching that cute girl across the bar? Are you crippled by the fear of rejection? On those rare occasions when you do find yourself chatting with a girl you're attracted to, do you freeze up and spend several minutes babbling idiotically until she finally, mercifully concocts an excuse to leave? Do you frequently find yourself going home alone, putting on some sad music, cursing your miserable life and crying yourself to sleep? Would you like to be that guy who walks into a bar by himself and exits shortly thereafter with the hottest broad in the room? If you answered yes to any of these questions, How to Meet Broads: A Comprehensive Guide to the Art of Seduction is here to help! Using the ground-breaking How to Meet Broads system, you can improve your look, boost your self-confidence and successfully seduce the girls of your dreams! How to Meet Broads: A Comprehensive Guide to the Art of Seduction offers a point-by-point process for becoming not only a man that women aspire to be with, but also one who is capable of sustaining a healthy relationship (when applicable). This process is elaborated upon in the form of letters written by the online readers of Mr. Cagney and his often-hilarious replies. Don't let the sarcasm and self-deprecation fool you, however... at its most basic, this is a book about respecting yourself and those around you, and you'll be surprised at just how heartfelt Mr. Cagney is about helping others achieve happiness.

Broad Is the Way is a collection of stories from their seven years there. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this sequel to the acclaimed In the Time of Greenbloom, John Blaydon "runs head on into the paradox of Ireland, attempts to solve it single-handed and gets his heart and most of his head broken in the process. The manner of his undoing is told in a series of brilliant pictures, evocative, authentic, macabre, or hilariously funny. . . . Mr. Fielding has written an original novel of vitality, wit, and compassionate insight."—Isabelle Mallet, New York Times Book Review "A powerful and beautifully written novel, "Streets" can either stand by itself or solidly in company with In the Time of Greenbloom. . . . [Fielding's] touch is as sure and controlled as his invention is unlimited, and the resultant work seems various and beautiful and new. The major objection to the book is not its ending, but that it ends. It is too good to give up, too vital and dynamic to leave."—Margaret Marble, Los Angeles Times "A prismatic study of a finely gifted man in the elaborate tangles of his growth in a complex and wonderfully drawn environment."—Newsweek "Fielding writes a torrential prose, and his imagist phrases, fabulous incidents, antic characters and peripheral violence whip the story forward."—Time

Book Synopsis A Broad and Ennobling Spirit by : Ronald Mendel
Download or read book A Broad and Ennobling Spirit written by Ronald Mendel and published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA. This book was released on 2003-10-30 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With the introduction of new production methods and technological innovation, tradesmen and workers encountered new challenges. This study examines the development of trade unions as a manifestation of working class experience in late Gilded Age America. It underscores both the distinctive and the common features of trade unionism across four occupations: building tradesmen, cigar makers, garment workers, and printers. While reactions differed, the unions representing these workers displayed a convergence in their strategic orientation, programmatic emphasis and organizational modus operandi. As such, they were not disparate organizations, concerned only with sectional interests, but participants in an organizational-network in which cooperation and solidarity became benchmarks for the labor movement. Printers coped with the mechanization of typesetting by promoting greater cooperation among the different craft unions within the industry, with the aim of establishing effective job control. Building tradesmen exerted a pragmatic militancy, which combined strikes with overtures to the employers' business sense, to uphold the standards of craft labor. Cigar makers, especially handicraftsmen who found their position threatened by machinery and the growth of factory production, debated the merits of a craft-based union against the possible advantages of an industrial-oriented organization. Garment workers, caught in the snare of a sweating system of labor in which wages and work loads were inversely related, organized unions to mount strikes during the busy season in the hope of securing higher wages, only to see them whither in the midst of slack periods.
