Book Synopsis Mutual market connectivity and Hong Kong market innovations for new-economy financing by : 巴曙松 BA Shusong
Download or read book Mutual market connectivity and Hong Kong market innovations for new-economy financing written by 巴曙松 BA Shusong and published by 商務印書館(香港)有限公司. This book was released on 2019-10-30 with total page 727 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Amid the global financial turbulence, the Mutual Market Access (MMA) programme, comprising the Shanghai Connect, the Shenzhen Connect and the Bond Connect, has solidified Hong Kong’s status as a unique financial hub connecting the East and the West and, in this process, has explored a new path for the opening-up of China’s capital market. In the face of economic structural changes across the globe, Hong Kong seeks to look into innovations in financing the new economy, and has built up experiences for reference in the Asian time zone. Hong Kong is gradually establishing a new ecosystem around new-economy enterprises and has made them new targets of investment for both Mainland and overseas investors trading under MMA. This book is the first bilingual title in the market that explains in detail the MMA model between Hong Kong and Mainland China and innovations in new-economy financing, in which experts and research teams who are experienced in these areas discuss in-depth on the key functional drivers of innovations in Hong Kong and the Mainland, including the “MMA”, “new-economy financing” and “global asset allocation”. Elaborating the unique concepts of the MMA model and summarising what HKEX has learned in its reforms in new-economy financing, this book shall come in handy for market participants to make better use of the MMA model and benefit from the latest reforms of Hong Kong’s listing regime. Preface –Exploring Hong Kong’s Unique Strategic Positioning in the Face of International Changes Charles Li Chief Executive, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited Part I – The New Trend of Connectivity and New-Economy Financing Chapter 1 – Mutual Market Access: Hong Kong as a Financial Hub Connecting China and the World 李小加 香港交易所 集團行政總裁 Charles Li Chief Executive, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited 第2章—新經濟融資創新與香港的探索 Chapter 2 – Financing Innocation for the New Economy and Hong Kong’s Explorations Chapter 3 – Stock Connect Ushers in a New Era for China’s Capital Market Hau Hong Head of Research and Managing Director, BOCOM International Holdings Company Limited Part II–The Listing Reform and Financing Innovation for New-Economy Companies Chapter 4 – Initial Public Offering (IPO) and Listing Process on the SEHK with Highlights 香港交易所 首席中國經濟學家辦公室及環球上市服務部 Chief China Economist’s Office and Global Issuer Services, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited 第5章—香港的新股上市制度改革與突破 Chapter 5 – Reform and Breakthrough of Hong Kong’s Listing Regime 香港交易所 首席中國經濟學家辦公室及環球上市服務部 Chief China Economist’s Office and Global Issuer Services, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited 第6章—雙重股權架構的香港實踐 Chapter 6 – The Practice of Dual-Class Share Structure in Hong Kong 香港交易所 首席中國經濟學家辦公室 Chief China Economist’s Office, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited 第7章—同股不同權:對投資者是好? Book Synopsis A Guide to the Equity Markets of Hong Kong by : Paul B. McGuinness
Download or read book A Guide to the Equity Markets of Hong Kong written by Paul B. McGuinness and published by Oxford University Press, USA. This book was released on 1999 with total page 474 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explains the structure and outline of Hong Kong's equity markets, and examines Hong Kong's rising prominence (ranked sixth largest in the world) and importance as a financial centre in the region. It details the workings of the equity market system, covering the basics of all the major derivatives, and gives a brief overview of its other regional contemporary markets. Hong Kong's equity market has changed beyond all recognition over the last decade. The rise of China and East Asia has fuelled tremendous growth in this market. In the last two years alone, the market capitalisation of stocks traded in The Stock exchange of Hong Kong (SEHK) has grown by almost 100%. This growth, reflecting both the appreciation of existing stock values and a flood of new listing, is expected to continue as the PRC develops in to a world economic power. The rising volumes of trading and recent flurry of 'H' share listings and other PRC-backed stocks, is also indicative of the PRC's commitment to establish Hong Kong as the centre of its financial system. Hong Kong's mantle as the financial

Book Synopsis The New Legal Order in Hong Kong by : Raymond Wacks
Download or read book The New Legal Order in Hong Kong written by Raymond Wacks and published by Hong Kong University Press. This book was released on 1999-11-01 with total page 710 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As Hong Kong enters its third year under Chinese rule, the prognosis for the common law remains uncertain. Can the improbable doctrine of 'one country, two systems' be made to work? Will the political controversies that continue to bedevil the territory undermine the rule of law and the integrity of the legal order? The 21 essays in this important new collection consider these, and many other, questions. The first part examines several problems that lie at the heart of the Basic Law's promise of legal continuity. Hong Kong's economic order and its legal buttresses are analysed in Part 2, while the essays in Part 3 trace the shifts in social values as reflected both in Chinese and Hong Kong law. Though they embrace a wide area, the contributions to this volume suggest that, while many problems lie ahead, Hong Kong's law and legal system seem adequately entrenched to endure well into the future. Raymond Wacks is Professor of Law and Legal Theory at the University of Hong Kong. He is an international authority on the legal protection of privacy, and has also published widely in the field of legal theory. Professor Wacks has edited several books on Hong Kong law and human rights. His recent books include Privacy and Press Freedom (1995). The fifth edition of his text, Jurisprudence will appear in early 2000. “(B)y far the most comprehensive study of the post-1997 legal order I have come across, covering nearly all the subjects which the Basic Law touches upon... (I)t contains much insightful analysis of the historical development and future issues surrounding each topic... A very valuable contribution to scholarship... Far more importantly, there is no collection that comes close to such an array of good analysis on so many topics.” — Anthony Neoh, SC, Visiting Professor, Peking University

Book Synopsis People’s Republic of China–Hong Kong Special Administrative Region by : International Monetary Fund. Monetary and Capital Markets Department
Download or read book People’s Republic of China–Hong Kong Special Administrative Region written by International Monetary Fund. Monetary and Capital Markets Department and published by International Monetary Fund. This book was released on 2014-07-16 with total page 223 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Financial Sector Assessment Program report on People’s Republic of China–Hong Kong Special Administrative Region highlights that it has developed a sound framework for the regulation of securities markets, which exhibits a high level of implementation of the International Organization of Securities Commissions Principles. Both the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) are sophisticated regulators and have been able to leverage from domestic and international expertise to develop sound supervisory practices. Further, while traumatic, the Lehman minibond experience has led to material improvements in conduct supervision that have permeated both the SFC and the HKMA. Continuing efforts by the SFC to build up its capacity to identify and monitor emerging risks should increase the SFC’s ability to react in a timely manner to an evolving landscape, marked by an increased interconnection with the Mainland China, an active presence by international players and increased regional competition as an international finance center. It is important to consider translating the operational independence that the regulators have enjoyed into de-jure independence, through modifications in the current legal governance arrangements for both SFC and HKMA.
