Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The focus in Holy Bible Gems is to present chronologically the significant truths, principles, outstanding stories, key Biblical figures, and major historic events, in the King James version of the Holy Bible. While the reader is encouraged to read the full textual entries, the over-riding highlight throughout the book is the placement of a key bolded and italicized heading succinctly representing each entry, like a polished Gem. The purpose of this book’s format is to facilitate covering in essence the entire Bible quite rapidly and with assured ease if by reading just the headings alone. The reader can then rely on consistent richness, right to the end of the Bible, without being weighed down with what might be considered vast extraneous material.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Here is a book that has been needed for a long time. My mother wrote these words during a time in her life when she was raising us two boys to be the men we are today along with being a pastor's wife. Fast forward to today-she has been deceased for almost 5 years now and the publication of this book couldn't have come at a better time! You will enjoy her comments on the scripture reading of the day. It is a chronological devotional book of the whole Bible. My mother typed all these words on one of the old Royal typewriters of the day. It's amazing how good her thoughts were concerning serving her Lord and Master on a daily basis. We can each glean something from the Word and become closer to the Lord after reading what she wrote in her daily devotions. I'm glad to have been a small part in getting this book to print. I'm sure that everyone that buys this devotional book will be as pleased as I was when I went through it in my personal devotions every morning. May the Lord bless all who receive this book with a new appreciation of the Lord we serve.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Book of Mormon Gems provides a careful selection of the vast majority of outstanding principles, prophets and events throughout the great journeys contained in The Book of Mormon. Above each entry is a bolded and enlarged heading in italics which, as a Gem, gives the clear essence of the entry. This format gives the reader the option of reading just the Gem, or also the full underlying text of each entry. Each entry is meticulously documented, and includes in parenthesis who is speaking. The selection of well over two thousand entries in Book of Mormon Gems, is a modest attempt to gather completely from The Book of Mormon, the plain and precious truths and events revealed centuries ago to chosen prophets who were led to a promised land by the Power of God. What makes Book of Mormon Gems so valuable is that it presents the most important and sacred scriptural truths found in The Book of Mormon, without having to read as well the volumes of extra writing throughout the book.

Book Synopsis Gems of God by : David Paul Dzerigian
Download or read book Gems of God written by David Paul Dzerigian and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2000-08-29 with total page 142 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gems of God was conceived long ago; just how long, only God Himself knows. All the messages are original. They were inspired by the Holy Spirit and merely written down by myself. Scriptures are taken from the King James Version of the Bible. Many of these sermons were written in the very early hours of the morning. I would awaken and hurry to write the thought down before it escaped. God has no watch; but He has perfect timing. It is no coincidence that you are reading this description at this particular time. Somewhere in the book is a thought that God wants you to have. All credit is due Him. We hope this book will bless you. Until that glorious day when all His family is gathered together, we say God be with you.
Book Synopsis Doctrine and Covenant Gems by : Sterling H. Redd, Sr.
Download or read book Doctrine and Covenant Gems written by Sterling H. Redd, Sr. and published by 4 Sterlings LLC. This book was released on 2023-09-20 with total page 343 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Doctrine and Covenant Gems is a book organized primarily to facilitate a reader’s ease in identifying and enjoying the sacred and remarkable revelations recorded in the book Doctrine and Covenants, which the prophet Joseph Smith, Jr. received during the restoration of the Gospel and Church of Jesus Christ during the early 1800’s. This restoration had for centuries been prophesied to take place in the latter days. Doctrine and Covenant Gems follows the original 138 sections, and provides a chronological arrangement of the remarkable revelations of principles, truths, doctrines, proclamations, priesthood keys and authority restored at that time. Each section includes the date, location and circumstances associated with the revelation received. Revelations recorded in the Doctrine and Covenants, in the summarizing words of the 1981 Church-authorized edition, include “the nature of the Godhead, the origin of man, the reality of Satan, the purpose of mortality, the necessity of obedience, the need for repentance, the workings of the Holy Spirit, the ordinances and performances that pertain to salvation, the destiny of the earth, the future condition of man after the resurrection and the judgment, the eternity of the marriage relationship, and the eternal nature of the family”. Doctrine and Covenant Gems carefully identifies and polishes each scriptural gem in facilitating a reader’s ready grasp of the truths therein. It follows the same system used in the 1981 church-authorized publication in, identifying the individual subjects addressed in each section. The book in no way proposes to replace the value of a person’s reading and enjoying the Doctrine and Covenants in its full text. Apology is rendered for any errors or valued scriptural oversights. What makes Doctrine and Covenant Gems particularly valuable in a person’s reading about the restoration of the Gospel is the clarity it offers in focusing on just the pertinent scriptural truths found in the Doctrine and Covenants without having to read as well the sometimes more voluminous circumstantial history and extraneous writing experienced in various sections of the original scriptural document itself.
Book Synopsis The Pearl of Great Price Gems by : Sterling H. Redd, Sr.
Download or read book The Pearl of Great Price Gems written by Sterling H. Redd, Sr. and published by 4 Sterlings LLC. This book was released on 2023-09-20 with total page 103 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Pearl of Great Price Gems is published with the primary goal of identifying, separating, highlighting and entitling the individual Gems of truth, wisdom, history and doctrine found in The Pearl of Great Price as though they had been buried in a vast field of text for centuries, found, polished and now presented. The text of The Pearl of Great Price Gems is itself identical to that of The Pearl of Great Price authorized and published by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints The following introduction of The Pearl of Great Price Gems, and is taken from the more extensive and detailed introduction of the 1981 Church-authorized publication. The Pearl of Great Price Gems contains choice materials regarding many significant aspects of faith and doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The contents were brought forth through the Prophet Joseph Smith and were originally published in the Church periodicals of his day. The earliest collection of contents carrying the name Pearl of Great Price was in 1851 through the efforts of Franklin D. Richards, then an apostle and president of the British Mission. With a growing need to make the book’s important contents more readily accessible in Europe as well as in America, it was made a standard work of the Church by action of the First Presidency and the general conference in Salt Lake City on October 10, 1880. Arrangement of contents into chapters and verses, with footnotes, was done in 1902; and arrangement of double-column pages, with index, in the Church authorized publication, was made in 1921. Following is a Brief Outline of the Book’s Contents: Selections from the Book of Moses. An extract from the book of Genesis of Joseph Smith’s Translation of the Bible, which he began in 1830. See History of the Church, vol. 1, pp. 98-101, 131-139; The Book of Abraham. A translation from some Egyptian papyri that came into the hands of Joseph Smith in 1835, containing writings of the patriarch Abraham. The translation was published serially in the Times and Seasons, beginning March 1, 1842, at Nauvoo, Illinois. See History of the Church, vol. 4, pp. 519-534. Joseph Smith—Matthew. An extract from the testimony of Matthew in Joseph Smith’s Translation of the Bible. See Doctrine and Covenants 45:60-61 for the divine injunction to begin the translation of the New Testament. Joseph Smith—History. Excerpts from Joseph Smith’s official testimony and history, which he prepared in 1838, and which was published serially in the Times and Seasons in Nauvoo, Illinois, beginning on March 15, 1842. See History of the Church, vol. 1, pp. 1-44, for the complete account. The Articles of Faith of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A statement by Joseph Smith of the distinguishing beliefs of the Church published in the Times and Seasons March 1, 1842, in company with a short history of the Church. The document was popularly known as the Wentworth Letter. See History of the Church, vol. 4, pp. 535-541.
