Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A study on Freemasonry, Illuminati, Esoteric and Anagogical developments, extending to the two lost continents of Mu and Atlantis to the Maya, Uyghur and the Egyptian civilizations, Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Where are the roots of monotheism? Who were the first monotheistic believers? Where are the roots of today's heavenly religions? This research is about a doctrine that has deeply influenced the belief systems since the dark periods of human history within the context of processes of historical development of esoteric beliefs. In addition to the birth of monotheistic religions, the esoteric teachings that enable the rational thought system to reach the present and allow us to be in the Era of Reason, reveal that God is love and not fear, and that the power of intuition is led by reason. The greatest deficiency of our time is that this great love is not boldly revealed. The real purpose of this work is to bring this sublime expression of love out of its narrow frames to reach out to the masses.

Book excerpt: The student of the history of occultism and the esoteric teachings, and even the average reader of current books and magazines, finds many references to "The Rosicrucians," a supposed ancient secret society devoted to the study of occult doctrines and the manifestation of occult powers. But when such person seeks to obtain detailed information concerning this supposed ancient "order" he finds himself baffled and defeated. Before acknowledging the futility of the quest, however, he usually investigates one or more so-called "orders" having as a part of their title the word "Rosicrucian," only to find himself invited to join such "order" upon the payment of a fee or fees ranging from a small amount in some cases to quite large amounts in others, each "order" claiming to be the "only original order," and asserting that all the others are base imitators. This book will give you all the insights on this secret order.

Book Synopsis The Esoteric Teachings of the Gnostics by : Frances Swiney
Download or read book The Esoteric Teachings of the Gnostics written by Frances Swiney and published by . This book was released on 2015-12-07 with total page 86 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Though Gnosticism long preceded Christianity, the Gnostics were the first Christians; they accepted Christ in the full realization of the word; his life, not his death, was the keynote of their doctrine and their practice. Thousands of years before the Egyptian Seers prognosticated the spiritual evolution of the soul in the seven stages of probation in the life beyond the grave. They conceived of a mystical Christos, a divine type of character that could only be attained through the soul's conflict with evil in the spiritual spheres of nebulous idealism. The Gnostics welded the ancient mythos into mundane practicability. They recognized the divine nature of the Universe, the eternal progression of all things, and of the human in particular. Therefore, it is easily conceivable that they were misunderstood, maligned and discredited by the crude primitive minds of the Goth, the Vandal and the Hun, who had drunk too deeply of the draught of oblivion to remember their former phases of existence. ..".Swiney has much in common with modern scholars like Elaine Pagels or Elizabeth Schussler Fiorenza, who attempt to restore the lost voices of the women of early Christianity... The Esoteric Teachings of the Gnostics is an important book." by Philip Jenkins, Distinguished Professor of History, Baylor University."
Book Synopsis Occult Roots of Religious Studies by : Yves Mühlematter
Download or read book Occult Roots of Religious Studies written by Yves Mühlematter and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2021-06-08 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The historiographers of religious studies have written the history of this discipline primarily as a rationalization of ideological, most prominently theological and phenomenological ideas: first through the establishment of comparative, philological and sociological methods and secondly through the demand for intentional neutrality. This interpretation caused important roots in occult-esoteric traditions to be repressed. This process of “purification” (Latour) is not to be equated with the origin of the academic studies. De facto, the elimination of idealistic theories took time and only happened later. One example concerning the early entanglement is Tibetology, where many researchers and respected chair holders were influenced by theosophical ideas or were even members of the Theosophical Society. Similarly, the emergence of comparatistics cannot be understood without taking into account perennialist ideas of esoteric provenance, which hold that all religions have a common origin. In this perspective, it is not only the history of religious studies which must be revisited, but also the partial shaping of religious studies by these traditions, insofar as it saw itself as a counter-model to occult ideas.
