This book was released on 2017-03-02 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Constantino, ¿el primer emperador cristiano? Religión y política en el siglo IV written by Josep Vilella Masana and published by Edicions Universitat Barcelona. This book was released on 2015-11-17 with total page 609 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: King Alfonso VIII of Castile: Government, Family and War brings together a diverse group of scholars whose work concerns the reign of Alfonso VIII (1158–1215). This was a critical period in the history of the Iberian peninsula, when the conflict between the Christian north and the Moroccan empire of the Almohads was at its most intense, while the political divisions between the five Christian kingdoms reached their high-water mark. From his troubled ascension as a child to his victory at Las Navas de Tolosa near the end of his fifty-seven-year reign, Alfonso VIII and his kingdom were at the epicenter of many of the most dramatic events of the era. Book Synopsis The Council of Trent: Reform and Controversy in Europe and Beyond (1545-1700) by : Wim François
Download or read book The Council of Trent: Reform and Controversy in Europe and Beyond (1545-1700) written by Wim François and published by Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht. This book was released on 2018-09-10 with total page 317 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Exactly 450 years after the solemn closure of the Council of Trent on 4 December 1563, scholars from diverse regional, disciplinary and confessional backgrounds convened in Leuven to reflect upon the impact of this Council, not only in Europe but also beyond. Their conclusions are to be found in these three impressive volumes. Bridging different generations of scholarship, the authors reassess in a first volume Tridentine views on the Bible, theology and liturgy, as well as their reception by Protestants, deconstructing many myths surviving in scholarship and society alike. They also deal with the mechanisms 'Rome' developed to hold a grip on the Council's implementation. The second volume analyzes the changes in local ecclesiastical life, initiated by bishops, orders and congregations, and the political strife and confessionalisation accompanying this reform process. The third and final volume examines the afterlife of Trent in arts and music, as well as in the global impact of Trent through missions.

Book Synopsis Principles of an Epistemology of Values by : Marià Corbí
Download or read book Principles of an Epistemology of Values written by Marià Corbí and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-10-12 with total page 253 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book addresses the need to create an “axiological epistemology”. This term refers to knowledge of what is axiological, i.e. everything related to human values, and the know-how on how to manage the study of values. In knowledge societies, we know and live axiological projects that we do not receive from anyone, but that we must construct ourselves in a situation of continuous change. In view of the fact that the axiological crisis in which we are immersed is the most serious one that humanity has suffered over its long history, the seriousness and urgency of the issue in question is evident. Adequate knowledge is required to solve this problem, which is at the root of all the problems we are experiencing. This work offers a potential solution that, in contrast to the past, cannot be definitive, but must be transformed throughout the continuous changes to ways of life as a result of technoscience. It will prove of great value to all those who must operate within human values and motivate groups, as well as to those interested in spirituality.
