Book excerpt: Lupus, rheumatic fever, colitis, arthritis, dermatitis, insomnia, depression, hallucinations – what do all these illnesses have in common? They were all experienced by a 12-year-old girl in a case study in an American journal of child psychiatry. The cause? – mercury vapor she inhaled from mercury that had been spilled on the carpet in the room she slept in. After removing the carpet and treatment with chelation drugs, the girl returned to good health. Mercury poisoning can cause a variety of illnesses such as chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, ADHD, bipolar disorder, sinusitis, tinnitus, balance problems, tremor, insomnia, inflammatory bowel disease, dermatitis, excessive thirst, salivation and a host of other symptoms. Is mercury from dental amalgams affecting your health? Dental associations claim the mercury in fillings is perfectly safe, but the mercury inhaled from “silver” fillings is 15 times more toxic than lead. The World Health Organization report states that people with amalgams have a daily mercury intake of 4 to 21 micrograms of mercury per day. For many people this exceeds the Environmental Protection Agencies limit of just 7 micrograms per day. Yet there are no Government warnings about this exposure. Those who grind their teeth or chew gum will have even higher exposure. If you eat 100 grams (3.5 ounces) of tuna, that adds another 35 micrograms. Even if your mercury blood level is within the so-called “normal” range, if you don't excrete mercury efficiently it can build up in your brain, liver, kidney, thyroid and other organs over years of continuous exposure. The effects of prolonged exposure to mercury can be delayed for years, making it difficult to determine the cause of your illness. Diseases such as chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia affect millions of people around the world. Doctors say the causes of these illnesses are unknown and there is no cure. This book provides cases histories of many diseases which were caused by mercury and subsequently cured using chelation therapy. It also takes you step by step through the process of safely chelating heavy metals from your body.

Book excerpt: Measureable amounts of pure aluminum has not existed in our environment before the process to separate it from aluminum ore began on an extraordinary large scale during the last few decades. It has been shown through experimental research that as much as 85% of the aluminum that we take in through air, water, food, medicine, vaccines and cosmetics ends up in our brains, resulting in killing 35% of all elderly over the age of 80 in our modern world. This number is expected to increase to 50% during the next 20 years. Imagine if the 100s of millions of deaths from aluminum toxicity can be stopped with one easy solution. Moreover, vaccines containing aluminum provoke an entirely different inflammatory response compared to live attenuated vaccines that don't contain any heavy metals. It has been shown through documented research repeatedly, that heavy metals in vaccines are detrimental to health and have caused countless amounts of suffering and death. The importance of this information currently goes without saying. From the blue zone with the special mineral waters that have been imperative to reinforce the answer, follow this incredible journey with Dr. Bill McGraw. The program is based on a combination of clinical experience working with patients, the latest scientific findings and best of ancient traditions. The most unique aspect of this book is its emphasis on showing the reader how to embracing cleansing as a truly transformative physical healing process and a catalyst to personal growth. The Four Winds Holistic Cleanse is a powerful catalyst anyone can use to stimulate the bodies innate ability to heal itself. By purchasing this book, you are taking a powerful journey to return to optimal health. "All true healing begins with detoxification. This book will show how to cleanse and detoxify your bodys systems safely and effectively." Book excerpt: Eliminate avoidable toxins, mitigate the effects of those you can’t avoid, and enjoy a longer life with this essential health guide from a pioneer in integrative medicine, Dr. Joe Pizzorno—the author, teacher, practitioner, and founder of Bastyr University, the country’s first and largest fully accredited university of natural medicine. Dr. Joe Pizzorno is convinced that lifelong good health rests on two key determinants: your exposure to toxins and your ability to process them in your body. While lifestyle, diet, and genetics all play a major role in well-being, many symptoms of declining health and chronic disease are rooted in toxic overload—our exposure to a barrage of chemicals, heavy metals, radiation, electromagnetic frequencies, and pollution that are the byproducts of modern life. While the human body has an innate capacity to detoxify, it cannot cope with the elevated levels of toxins we are exposed to today. Most alarmingly, this toxic overload has helped transform once rare diseases into epidemics affecting people of all ages. In The Toxin Solution, Dr. Pizzorno provides the proven detox and tailored methods he has developed to heal toxic overload and restore health in just eight weeks. With this essential guide you will learn how to: Avoid toxins in food and the products you use; Mend your gut and prepare for detox; Support your body in releasing the chemicals; Repair some of the damage toxins have caused. Fortunately, our bodies have a tremendous capacity for healing and recovery. With The Toxin Solution you will discover how releasing and avoiding toxins can help you to feel better today—and every day for the rest of your life.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Heavy metals are severe environmental pollutants, and many of them are toxic even at very low concentrations. With industrial development, soil pollution with heavy metal elements have dramatically increased. The uptake of heavy metals via plants that are exposed to contaminated soils is a risk for human health and a major hazard for the ecosystem as a whole, including soil microorganisms. On the other hand, plants may be used in the decontamination of soils. The topics presented in this book include: sources of heavy metals contaminants in soils; plant species that can grow on contaminated soils; the phytoremediation of contaminated soils; tolerance, accumulation and detoxification mechanisms of zinc, copper, arsenic, cadmium and vanadium in plants; the critical role of sulfur metabolism in heavy metal tolerance; the role of aquatic macrophytes, plant growth-promoting bacteria, sugar crops and earthworms in detoxification; and heavy metal stabilization by promoting zeolite synthesis in soils.

The basic geochemical processes are discussed with respect to mobility in the environment and impact as well as methods to derive guidelines for heavy metals. Remediation focuses on currently available methods to treat contaminated sediments and soils. In addition, it considers the concept of geochemical engineering for remediation of large areas contaminated by metals. A number of case studies of polluted sediments and soils and their environmental impact highlight the principles discussed in the first two sections.

However, substances can have different levels of cancer-causing potential, and the risk of developing cancer is dependent on several factors, including individual genetic background and the amount and duration of the exposure. This book focuses on various cancer risk factors, covering numerous known, probable, and possible carcinogens; their role in carcinogenesis; mechanisms of carcinogenicity; and methods for detecting carcinogens. And due to the growing concerns over the effects that substances and environmental exposures can have on human health, the chapters also emphasize on the vital need for further topic-related research as well as development and implementation of beneficial approaches.

Book excerpt: A practical guide to identifying and targeting toxins with the most appropriate and effective detox methods • Reveals the two main types of toxins: colloidal, which affect circulation and organ function, and crystalline, which cause tissue damage and pain • Explains the toxins behind specific illnesses and which of the 5 excretory organs--liver, intestines, kidneys, lungs, or skin--should be stimulated for optimal detox • Details how specific foods can produce these toxins and trigger illnesses The lasting benefits of detoxification and internal cleanses are becoming well-known and accepted—in part, because these practices are more vital than ever for optimal health and longevity and in the fight against environmental and dietary toxins. Christopher Vasey shows how accumulation of toxins is the primary cause of illness and how the key to successful detoxification is identifying the type of toxin--either colloidal or crystalline--polluting your biological terrain. He explains how colloidal toxins hinder circulation and organ function, while crystals move around the body damaging tissues and causing lesions and pain. Left unchecked, the two forms can combine to create “stones”--such as gallstones or kidney stones. Beyond finding the cause of an illness, the most important reason to correctly diagnose your type of toxin is to ensure you choose the most effective method of detoxification and stimulate the appropriate excretory organ--liver, intestines, kidneys, lungs, or skin. For example, a person seeking to purge his system of crystals should increase his fluid intake to stimulate the kidneys not encourage bile production, because crystals cannot be expelled via the liver. With clear, practical instructions and guidance, Vasey explains how to identify which type of toxin is triggering your illness and which medicinal herbs, hydrotherapy techniques, or nutritional options are the best choice for each specific condition or combination of ailments. He reveals which foods produce colloidal and crystalline toxins and should therefore be avoided. This targeted method of detoxification enables each of us to cleanse our bodies of accumulated toxins safely, accurately, and successfully.
