The qualitative case study takes a look at decades of abuse of power and sexualized violence by the director of an analytical institute for children and young people. It shows that the psychotherapists involved in this system do not live up to central ideas and concepts of their profession: Silence, denial, rationalization, rejection of responsibility, and ignorance of those affected have for a long time prevented the uncovering of the acts and sustainable forms of coming to terms with them. The life of the institute is characterized by a dialectical tension between the necessity of processing and the desire for undisturbed functioning. This dynamic also proves to be analogous to the problem-solving patterns of psychotherapeutic patients. The case points to fundamental problems in the field of psychotherapy, which are primarily related to a structural power imbalance and pronounced dependency relationships both in the context of training and in the treatment setting. The findings of this empirical study are used to derive professional and organizational ethical considerations and - based on these - to formulate concrete recommendations for the prevention of sexualized violence in psychotherapy institutes.

Im ersten Abschnitt werden grundlegende Begriffe erläutert und Zusammenhänge verdeutlicht. Der zweite Abschnitt behandelt die Hintergründe sexueller Gewalt, einschließlich Prävalenz, Formen der Grenzverletzung, Täterprofile und die Situation der Betroffenen. Im dritten Abschnitt wird speziell auf sexuelle Gewalt in pädagogischen Institutionen eingegangen, wobei förderliche Strukturen, das Spannungsfeld von Nähe und Distanz sowie die Rolle von Macht und Schweigen thematisiert werden. Der vierte Abschnitt untersucht Präventions- und Interventionsmaßnahmen, die in den letzten Jahren erforscht wurden. Abschließend werden im fünften Abschnitt die Ergebnisse zusammengefasst und diskutiert, wobei auch Anregungen für zukünftige Forschung gegeben werden. Sexuelle Gewalt gegen Kinder und Jugendliche ist eine Thematik, die in unserer Gesellschaft längst aus dem Schatten des Tabus getreten ist. Sowohl in den Medien als auch in wissenschaftlichen Diskursen bleibt sie von anhaltender Relevanz. Der herkömmliche Blick auf sexuellen Kindesmissbrauch, der oft einen fremden Mann in der Nähe von Spielplätzen oder Schulen imaginiert, wurde durch aktuelle Forschungsergebnisse widerlegt. Es ist klar geworden, dass sexuelle Gewalt gegen Minderjährige vor allem innerhalb ihres direkten sozialen Umfelds stattfindet. Eine Entwicklung, die bereits in den 60er und 80er Jahren begann, als das Schweigen über sexuelle Gewalt im familiären Kontext erstmals gebrochen wurde. Dennoch bleibt es für viele schwer nachzuvollziehen, dass auch pädagogische Institutionen zu Tatorten sexueller Gewalt werden können. Dies steht im Kontrast zur gesetzlichen Verpflichtung, die Einrichtungen als sichere Orte für Kinder und Jugendliche zu gestalten. Doch längst beschränkt sich sexuelle Ausbeutung nicht mehr auf das familiäre Umfeld; durch die Institutionalisierung von Erziehung haben potenzielle Täter innerhalb pädagogischer Einrichtungen einen erweiterten Handlungsspielraum.

Im Folgenden werden die Grundlagen der Thematik der sexuellen Gewalt an Kindern thematisiert, dazu werden die Täterstrategien erläutert und sexuelle Gewalt an Kindern und speziell an Jungen aufgezeigt. Die Arbeit geht daraufhin zum Thema sexuelle Gewalt in Institutionen über. Im vierten Kapitel wird die Gründung der Odenwaldschule und das pädagogische Konzept vorgestellt. Im Anschluss daran wird die Frage beantwortet, wie die sexuelle Gewalt an der Odenwaldschule begünstigt wurde und mit welchen Strategien der Haupttäter vorging. Durch die Aufdeckungsarbeiten stellte sich heraus, dass sich die Vorfälle von sexueller Gewalt innerhalb der Amtszeit des Schulleiters Gerold Becker häuften, er wird somit als Haupttäter betrachtet und somit wird sich die Arbeit im weiteren Verlauf auf diesen Zeitraum beschränken. Es wird analysiert, inwieweit die Bestandteile der reformpädagogischen Elemente der Odenwaldschule - die Nähe zum Kind, die Abgeschlossenheit der Internatsfamilien – für sexuelle Gewalt an Kindern genutzt wurden. Darauf folgt die Veröffentlichung der Vorfälle durch Huckele und seine Mitschüler, es wird gezeigt, welche Rolle die Medienberichte spielen und welche gesellschaftlichen Konsequenzen sich aus der Veröffentlichung ergeben. Die Arbeit bezieht sich zum großen Teil auf das Buch von Andreas Huckele (bis November 2012 unter Pseudonym Jürgen Dehmers geschützt). Zum Schluss des vierten Kapitels wird die Umsetzung des Films von Röhl über die sexuelle Gewalt an der Odenwaldschule erläutert. Im letzten Abschnitt zeigt die Arbeit Schutzkonzepte und Ansätze der Prävention gegen sexuelle Gewalt an Kindern in öffentlichen Einrichtungen auf.
