Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God's Snowball is a story about a white cat utilized by God to soften a young woman's heart, eventually allowing her to become a born-again Christian. Throughout this enjoyable chronicle of Chloe's transformation, we meet many characters who we can easily relate to. Daniel is the handsome new youth minister who has difficulty getting close enough to Chloe to help her even though she is immediately attracted to him. Irene is her grandfather's housekeeper who becomes her very close friend. Michael Gray is a local attorney who wants Chloe to work for his firm instead of returning to Philadelphia and her previous employment. Snowball is the white cat whose tenderness, affection, and tranquilizing personality help Chloe to unwind and become the blessing God wants her to be. Chloe was rejected by her mother and raised by her grandfather. A major result of that rejection was an untamed youth and a false understanding of love. Although her grandfather was a devout Christian, he could not break down the barriers Chloe built around her heart. His successful life as a doctor and mayor allowed him to make significant contributions back to his church and community, thus paving a path for Chloe's salvation.

Here she wants to inform people about Jesus' work and miracles. She is helped in her endeavours by media designer Luzia, with whom she begins an affair after her visit to the Pope. Book excerpt: As ancient immortals are left reeling, a modern Athena and Hermes search the world for answers in Mortal Gods, the second Goddess War novel by Kendare Blake, acclaimed author of Anna Dressed in Blood. Ares, god of war, is leading the other dying gods into battle. Which is just fine with Athena. She's ready to wage a war of her own, and she's never liked him anyway. If Athena is lucky, the winning gods will have their immortality restored. If not, at least she'll have killed the bloody lot of them, and she and Hermes can die in peace. Cassandra Weaver is a weapon of fate. The girl who kills gods. But all she wants is for the god she loved and lost to return to life. If she can't have that, then the other gods will burn, starting with his murderer, Aphrodite. The alliance between Cassandra and Athena is fragile. Cassandra suspects Athena lacks the will to truly kill her own family. And Athena fears that Cassandra's hate will get them all killed. The war takes them across the globe, searching for lost gods, old enemies, and Achilles, the greatest warrior the world has ever seen. As the struggle escalates, Athena and Cassandra must find a way to work together. Because if they can't, fates far worse than death await. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I wrote this book also for a number of reasons. There are people and organizations that want to take our faith and beliefs away from us. In many ways, we have already lost a lot of ground and some of our ways of practicing our faith. Our forefathers came to this country for freedom of faith. They were tired of being told how they had to worship God or that they couldn't do this or that. Our country was founded on the idea of freedom of religion. We have the right to worship where and when we feel like worshiping God. By doing this, I am not telling anyone else what they can do or how to worship. I am just practicing my faith. Others are free to not worship and stay home on Sundays and do nothing if this is what makes them happy. But they don't need to tell me where I can hang a picture of Jesus, put up a cross or sign, or where I can pray to my savior. I have showed in this book where we have lost some of our freedom because we did nothing. Those with money have won out in many ways. We may not be rich in money, but we all have a voice and legs to stand on. We can't convince anyone that we are right by saying, "Okay, we won't defend what we believe." This we have done too often. The prophets were perhaps the first to give witness to us and then Jesus and then the apostles and the church after that. All of creation, if we look at what God has created and is still creating, should all be witnesses. The big bang theory just doesn't work. Everything had to begin with something. Where did this something come from if not from an all-knowing supreme being. This I all tried to bring out in my book, as well as the time when God spoke for himself when the sky opened and a voice from the clouds said, "This is my beloved Son. Listen to him." In this book, I have witnessed again and also some of my friends have given their witness in hope of convincing others how important our faith is and how we all need to respond to attacks on our faith. If you want to share your faith in Jesus and how you have seen God work in your life, I would like to tell you to maybe write your own book. If you say that it isn't possible for you to write, I would like you to send me the story of God's work in your life. When I get enough, I may have another book to write. If God wants you to write, he will help you. He helped me. A few years ago, a friend read my first book and shared her story with me. I told her that she should write her own book, and she did; in fact, she has written several. Her name is Vicki Leigh. I shared a part of her story in this book. Will you stand up or speak for your faith?

Book excerpt: The Hand of God is a non-fictional, compelling account of John Keatings survival and recovery after accidentally contacting 16,000-volt Swedish railroad power line. It is an inspiring story of courage, determination, and the power of love. The story traces his journey from the accident scene in the Swedish mountains, through his lengthy hospitalization and rehabilitation in Sweden, to the familys return to the United States. The near-death experience affected many and the life saving amputations challenged their emotional resources. The book includes many of the powerful letters he received. These inspirational letters, which empowered John and his family, are as powerful today as they were when received. The humor and the heartbreak, the joys and the disappointments, and the hopes and the frustrations are blended into an emotional and unforgettable story.

Book excerpt: This unauthorized companion to George Orwell’s Animal Farm is a controversial parable about September 11th by one of fiction’s most inventive and provocative writers Written in 14 days shortly after the September 11th attacks, Snowball’s Chance is an outrageous and unauthorized companion to George Orwell’s Animal Farm, in which exiled pig Snowball returns to the farm, takes charge, and implements a new world order of untrammeled capitalism. Orwell’s “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others” has morphed into the new rallying cry: “All animals are born equal—what they become is their own affair.” A brilliant political satire and literary parody, John Reed’s Snowball’s Chance caused an uproar on publication in 2002, denounced by Christopher Hitchens, and barely dodging a lawsuit from the Orwell estate. Now, a decade later, with America in wars on many fronts, readers can judge anew the visionary truth of Reed’s satirical masterpiece.
