Richards and bestselling author of Indivisible: Restoring Faith, Family, and Freedom Before It's Too Late and Infiltrated: How to Stop the Insiders and Activists Who Are Exploiting the Financial Crisis to Control Our Lives and Our Fortunes, defends capitalism within the context of the Christian faith, revealing how entrepreneurial enterprise, based on hard work, honesty, and trust, actually fosters creativity and growth. In doing so, Money, Greed, and God exposes eight myths about capitalism, and demonstrates that a good Christian can be a good capitalist.

Book excerpt: Gripping True Story of War and Romance, Hope and Miracles When the odds are impossible, love goes to work. In this thrilling true-life story, readers follow the path of friendship that grows into a romance that spans continents and survives devastating hardship. Craig Keener, a respected white scholar, was cautious after a broken relationship. Médine, a well-educated African woman, met Craig through a campus ministry and the two became friends. Long after they parted for their respective worlds, Craig realized his love for her and began the arduous--and often supernatural--journey to be reunited. Médine faced terror and disease as a refugee in the war-torn Congo; Craig did not know most days if she was alive or dead. Their tender story of love beating the odds inspires readers to believe that God's own great love for each of us will always overcome.

Book excerpt: As it was so long ago, it appears to be today. The same two evils plague many of God's people: #1, they have forsaken God, the fountain of living waters, and #2, they have hewn out for themselves wells—broken wells, that contain not the waters (Jeremiah 2:13).The author identifies two main tendencies that “Christians” are drawn to as “Legalism” and “Fatalism”. He himself spent over twenty years drinking from each, never able to quench his thirst for God.At the age of 22, after a dramatic conversion, almost immediately he joined a religious cult and spent years in spiritual bondage. Attempting to establish his own righteousness, he was not able to be subject to the righteousness of God (Romans 10:3). Year after year, he remained ignorant of the fact that he was being exempted from Christ, by seeking to be justified in law. The rules, creeds and doctrines, which he followed religiously, actually caused him to fall out of the realm where grace operates (Galatians 5:4,5).Finally in his 40's he came to the realization of what it really means to be saved in grace through faith, alone. As is often the case, when the pendulum, swings too far one way, it does the same in the opposite direction. For the next 20 years he abused his freedom in Christ, simply enjoying life and wasting precious time and energy. Finally, at the age of 60, when a financial crisis hit, his whole world seemed to crumble and all his pet doctrines were tested. Painfully, over the next few years, God steadily awakened him out of his apathy and fatalist view of life and the scriptures. In this writing he shares the secret message he discovered. The message is none other than the gospel of God. It is the good news of Christ crucified, entombed and risen, according to the scriptures. The message itself is God's power for salvation to all who actually believe it (Romans 1:16). It alone can make one free to get hold of life really.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Evangelical Theology is a systematic theology written from the perspective of a biblical scholar. Michael F. Bird contends that the center, unity, and boundary of the evangelical faith is the evangel (= gospel), as opposed to things like justification by faith or inerrancy. The evangel is the unifying thread in evangelical theology and the theological hermeneutic through which the various loci of theology need to be understood. Using the gospel as a theological leitmotif—an approach to Christian doctrine that begins with the gospel and sees each loci through the lens of the gospel—this text presents an authentically evangelical theology, as opposed to an ordinary systematic theology written by an evangelical theologian. According to the author, theology is the drama of gospelizing—performing and living out the gospel in the theatre of Christian life. The text features tables, sidebars, and questions for discussion. The end of every part includes a “What to Take Home” section that gives students a run-down on what they need to know. And since reading theology can often be dry and cerebral, the author applies his unique sense of humor in occasional “Comic Belief” sections so that students may enjoy their learning experience through some theological humor added for good measure.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mary Lee Meares, co-founder and elder, provides a fascinating look at the early years of a ministry that started in a tent and grew to become one of the largest congregations in the Washington Metropolitan region. The church was called the National Evangelistic Center and Evangel Temple before being named Evangel Cathedral (pastored by her son, Bishop Don Meares). Co-founder Bishop John L. Meares was a patriarch of the faith whose zeal for spiritual unity was an instrumental part of racial reconciliation in the Body of Christ, bringing blacks and whites together during a time of segregation. Popular ministers such as Oral Roberts, Jack Coe, Morris Cerullo, Nicky Cruz, John McTernan, T. L. Osborne and G. B. McDowell were guest speakers. During the early years of the ministry, Bishop Meares moved in the miraculous and thousands were healed, saved and set free as the church experienced continuous revival. The ministry received countless letters and testimonies about the move of God. So, Elder Mary wrote and published a monthly Fellowship News which kept thousands of subscribers informed. Elder Mary has painstakingly compiled select articles from that newsletter to preserve the history of this great ministry. This work consists of those clippings as well as testimonies, newspaper articles, news from the worldwide mission field, first-hand accounts, teaching, and encouragement.
