Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God’s Agenda - Religious Poems: Vol 1 By Richard I. Gold God’s Agenda - Religious Poems contains a number of poems about God, Jesus Christ, our relationship with God, and our relationship with our fellow men, all in accordance with the Bible. At several points, two or more poems have the same title, but they were kept in because they are different poems. In other cases, several poems may appear to be somewhat similar; however, the focus is slightly different. Sometimes, a poem may require several readings to get the full meaning. At times, the meaning may be more than the author put into them and the reader may find some ideas which will benefit him or her. In all cases, the meaning of the poem should be taken to help build our faith and hope for the future, both in this life and when we have crossed to the other side. Remember, if we have a loved one who has passed on and is in the next life, they are in a better and more fulfilling place. It is well that we mourn for them, but this should be for our lack of seeing them, not for the fate of the loved one.

Book excerpt: It seems I am best at expressing my love for the Lord through music and poetry, and so out of that longing came the desire to pen "Poems for the Heart of God." I wanted to share something that gave me great joy and encouragement, with others. I wanted to write something that would implant a seed and inspire communication with our Master, especially as we begin our day. Oh, how important is a moment with Him before we step out into the fast-paced world we live in today! "Poems for the Heart of God" is a 366-day (including leap year) devotional with a scripture reading from His word, accompanied by a six-line poem for each day of the year. It is written in a way to receive from Him through scripture and a way to give back to Him in a personal heartfelt way. Each poem was written from my heart to His heart, acknowledging His love and care, as a Good Father, every day of life. Many like to look up their birthdays, their anniversaries, and other special days to see what God may have to say to them on that day. It is a daily seed planter of encouragement for my family and me to help us get off to a good start for the day. I pray it will be the same for you.

We have a sovereign God who loves us and is in control. The answer to our dilemma is thus to allow him to work in and through us. In doing so, we will find meaning and fulfillment in life and hope beyond our existence on earth. The poems are not intended to be expositions of doctrinal truths. The aim is to encourage the reader to search the Bible to discover the relevance of God amid the challenges and problems of life. Written in simple and provocative style, they make enjoyable and inspirational reading.

It is so amazing, once the title for the poem was established; the words flowed from GOD's spirit through her spirit onto paper. June was amazed after writing the poetry of the effect it had on her and others she read them to. After writing the poems, she decided to try and reference the poems with the Kings James Version of the Bible; they all were there! Every poem could be related to a Book, Chapter and Verse. In some cases, there were more than one or two scriptures that corresponded to some of the poems. This is GOD sent, GOD given and received for GOD's proposes! The poetry in this book is for uplifting and giving one hope, security and happiness by believing and trusting in our CREATOR, and HIS SON, JESUS. Thus, June decided to name the manuscript POETRY FROM CHRIST.

Book excerpt: I was a student of the Bible from an early age. I was always fascinated by the stories from both the Old and New Testaments and always tried to apply the lessons learned to my own life. After spending years as a Sunday School Teacher, the Bible stories have stayed with me. I read the Bible every day; it has helped me enormously over the years. I am not ashamed to admit, that I prayed to God each time to send me a wonderful wife. I was never disappointed and will continue to communicate with Him on a regular basis. The inspiration for the poetry comes from many sources. A thought while driving or a thought that comes while watching something on television. In one case it was an incident that inspired me. I will on occasion place at the bottom of the poem, what it was that inspired the poem. This book of poems will be in three sections. - Poems of inspiration from my faith whatever the source - Poems from Bible references or from Bible Stories - Poems from my own personal life. Those produced from my own experiences that lifted me from my pit of despair or helped me to understand better God's love and inspiration Erwin Parent is now retired after completing a near 60-year career in Information Technology. He began writing poetry after the death of his first wife, Virginia, after a 35-year marriage. He has not stopped writing since. Erwin lost two wives to Ovarian Cancer. When discovered, they were both terminal and passed away in a matter of weeks. He kept them both at home and was alone with them both in the end. He wrote this book to help others who may be grieving after losing a loved one. He writes. "My time was not spent with grief, gloom and doom but was filled with Gods presence and inspiration" Please share information about this book with friends and family who may be going through this process now. Book excerpt: Divine Reflections is a book of spiritual poetry. God and His Son, Jesus are my first love, and I profoundly enjoy writing about them through poetry. The poems are enlightening and spiritually significant in worshipping and serving them. The principle aspects of the poems are to promote Gods Word, and encourage saintly behavior. This is imperative to all Gods people who want a closer relationship with Him. He loves all His people, whether they are a believer or non-believer.Yet, its His desire to have everyone love and glorify Him, repent for their sins, and accept Jesus as their Savior. In addition, He wants them to embody the Holy Ghost, and live their lives steadfast in Faith and works, exercising holiness. Saintly behavior rooted in holiness is the crown all believers and saints of God desire to wear in their heaven oriented relationship with Him, and His son, Jesus. Divine Reflections consist of lucent accounts of Jesus life, saint building prayers, and a diversity of praises. These are enjoyable powerful spiritual elements that govern true believers and saints of God.The family and nature poems are crafted from a natural point of view, true to spiritual roots. The nature poems applaud Gods creations, herald praises and thanksgiving for His all knowing and omnipresent spirit. The family poems conveyed in tender simplicity, are Gods superior natural blessings. They are endowed to all His people, both the believer and nonbeliever. Divine Reflections has been a delight for me to write. Im a saint of God, and its gives me great pleasure to craft poems based on His Word.I love Gods Word, and with the help of the Holy Ghost, I strive to exhibit the saintly behavior that it commands. In doing so, Im earnestly seeking His promise of eternal life. Its my hope, the vividly crafted poems, first and foremost will inspire the reader to read Gods Word more and heed the spiritual principles that encourage saintly behavior. Its also my hope for the reader to enjoy reading the poetry.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Like most people in the world, 2020 finds me in the midst of a worldwide pandemic. Inspired by the Word of God and how God has something to say about every situation, I began to write seventy-five poems. It was February when the Holy Spirit prompted me to write God's Word in poetry, and needless to say, 2020 did not find me with nothing to do while in the house, wanting to follow the rules. I have been saved, born again, for thirty-two years. I am a native-born Philadelphian and attend the Bethany Missionary Baptist Church. I love serving the Lord and serving people (i.e. Helping Hand Rescue Mission, women in prison, ushering, and more). My life verse is Matthew 5:16: "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." While reading the first five verses in Joel 1, Wanda began to write. Nothing like This Has Ever Happened Before God gave a message to the prophet to say "listen," everyone See what's happening all around while you are still having fun It came upon the land quickly with a mighty and destructive force Tell your children, everyone, everywhere has been thrown off course Not in our time or your parent's time have we ever seen this before We ask when will it end, how long can it go on each day more and more Everyone, wake up including those who partied too hard and went to sleep Cry out and mourn, like it or not, you're on the wagon, now it is time to weep The virus will attack you no matter who you are, red, brown, black, or white Take heed and realize the seriousness of the situation, we can't win this fight All are closed, restaurants, gyms, malls, nail salons, barber shops, no relief And with virtual doctor's appointments, we pray nothing happens to our teeth We must seek to sense God's purpose for what is happening in the world today Only the Holy Spirit can help us to know what we should do before it all slips away

Book excerpt: This publication is the first interdisciplinary collection of articles focusing on religion and mythology in Celtic studies. The first part presents various current viewpoints within the field from scholars of history, art history and literary studies. In addition to more traditional approaches, the other two parts of the book illustrate the possibilities of applying new theories and methods from the discipline of Comparative Religion to the analysis of Celtic materials. They introduce previously unpublished results of the international research network “The Power of Words in Traditional European Cultures”, and the research project “Religion, Society, and Culture: Defining the Sacred in Early Irish Literature” funded by the Academy of Finland at University of Helsinki. The present collection serves as a significant contribution towards a better understanding of issues that have not been previously brought together in a single volume. As such it is of interest to scholars in Celtic studies as well as other related disciplines.

Book excerpt: Poetry is exciting, but elusive to most. This is troublesome for Christians because the Bible, John Poch reminds us, is largely composed of poetical verse. In God's Poems, Poch re-introduces sacred text as purposefully poetic, and explains what that means and invites the reader to with this insight live more thoughtfully and beautifully. But that is not all. Poch as a well-established and regarded poet, turns his eye to contemporary poetry and vindicates its function in a "created and creative world." Today many have abandoned the genre as a wasteland of misguided voice that really has nothing to say. The poet is a truth-teller, and Poch as devoted writer, teacher, and believer sends out a renewed call to turn to verse as a means of seeing oneself as God's poeima, or poem (Letter to Ephesians). The depth of self-knowing relates directly to an aptitude to engage the category of poetry at some level. A tragic void is filled with Poch's effort to exhort the reader to patiently reconnect with poetry even though it has been hijacked by persons who want to be heard more than speak well. (This book is essential, therefore, for aspiring poets.) For faithful readers or those seeking to return, Poch is a place to begin to understand contemporary writers worth knowing and which poets of the past must remain with us. In Virgilian fashion, he can see the panorama behind him and that which lies immediately ahead and instills a recovered love of an eternal medium that will be restored to a state of coherency and enlightened perspective. If Poch has faith in poetry it is because poetry is indeed a source of faith. If Justin Martyr claimed that everything that is true belongs to Christians, Poch shows us that everyone who speaks truth is to some degree a poet. Even God with his revealed wisdom chooses poetry as medium par excellence. It is essential to know how poetry works. "Great poems that we consider literature give us what we never expected. They go beyond the usefulness of conveying a feeling and unveiling beauty; and they tell us who we are."

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The Seeds of Change" is a collection of inspired poems that help bring to life several of the key lessons taught within God's word, the Holy Bible. These poems combined with short lessons based on key verses of scripture illustrate some of the primary elements these lessons of verse are trying to convey. So often, people are interested to learn more about how the Bible relates to their personal lives and experiences, but they really do not know where to begin or how to go about it. "Th e Seeds of Change" can help show them just how to achieve that relationship. Th e poems package these teaching in what some might consider a more palatable and relatable form, while the passages from scripture illustrate just how the Bible relates to our everyday lives. By first sharing the message in language familiar to most readers, then exposing the reader to that same concept within the scriptures the reader begins to understand just how God intended the Bible to be used in our everyday lives. In that sense, the poems and scripture combine together to create the lessons of verse that plant God's seeds of change into the mind of the reader. And as any follower of our Lord and savior Jesus the Christ knows, when these seeds are planted within good ground, they will not return void. For He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one will reach the father except by him.

Book excerpt: God inspired me to write this collection of poems, speeches, plays and skits for children’s Christmas and Easter programs in 2005. The objective was to help people discover the reason for our Savior’s Birth, Death, and Resurrection. This book is an inspiration when read to your children and grandchildren, even if you’re not involved with planning and implementing a program. However, if you’re the Children’s Ministry leader, this book has it all (poems, speeches, and skits for children’s Christmas and Easter programs. It will touch the hearts of God’s people and those who haven’t accepted Christ’s gift of Salvation. My deepest desire and prayer is that when the unsaved hear (or read) my poems, speeches, and skits, they will want to be saved.
