Book excerpt: Life is a continuous poem. As the poems continue, so does the journey. One day, the journey led him to a fork in the roadone sign pointing to the world and the other sign to the way, the truth, and the life. He is still on the road he took leading to the way, the truth and the life. However, a strange thing happened on this journey. The road he took led him through the world. But he was not afraid. Having seen the world through his eyes, he was now seeing it through the eyes of God. Having seen today, he could see tomorrow. Oh sure, he stumbled and he fell, but there was always a hand reaching out to pick him up and brush him off. There was always a smile that told him he was loved. These pages are the poems of his journey, one that continues still. Maybe its yours.

Book excerpt: Imagine Gods book of poetry, the Psalms, written as poems that rhyme that have a variety of metrical patterns that remain true to meaning of Scripture that help us hear Gods voice in a new way Jehovah, Thou searchest me deeply; My nature dost Thou understand; Whenever I sit, Thou ponderest it; Whenever I rise, Thou dost realize My thoughts and the deeds I have planned. Psalm 139 Jehovahs mine, my Shepherd divine; No want will He fail to surpass; He makes me dine, be filled, and recline In pastures of tender, young grass. Psalm 23 The panting hart seeks most and first For water-brooks, to quench its thirst, Lest it should die; So pants my soul, O God, for Thee Who art the God of life to me: Let me draw nigh! Psalm 42 I have been teaching the Psalms for more than thirty years, and yet, as I read through these poems, I found myself repeatedly stopping to reflect on things I had never considered before, and being blessed by that exercise. Dr. David Howard, Professor of Old Testament, Bethel Seminary, St. Paul, MN

Download or read book Wisdom 'N Rhyme written by Noah C. Hardy and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2010-10 with total page 508 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In January, 1987, at age 48, I was stricken with ulcerative colitis. I was gravely ill and on the brink of a major organ failure. All my intestines were severely inflamed because of a medication I had taken in order to treat ankylosing spondylitis. (A form of arthritis of the spine). I spent twelve days in a hospital due to my illness, and a couple nights after my release from the hospital I was in our spare bedroom praying that God would touch and heal me. And during that time of prayer I had an encounter with the Lord God, and that encounter was unlike anything I had ever experienced. I did not see God, nor did I hear His voice, but I felt the Lord's power and presence over-shadowing me in a way in which I go wanting for words in order to fully explain that experience. My encounter with God was similar to that of Job only in that God opened my mind and revealed unto me who I was, and who God the Father really is. The Holy Spirit revealed unto me the enormous sin of pride, and a need for me to repent and change my sinful attitude. Thank You, Lord, for Your eternal mercy! Soon after my spiritual awakening, I began to have thoughts come into my mind in a way that I had not ever experienced. The thoughts were Biblical truths and principles that were often formulated in rhyme, and they were occurring randomly day and night. But soon I realized I was forgetting the rhymes, sometimes within minutes of their occurrence, then I realized there was a necessity to quickly write my thought down; sometimes I would write them on a small piece of scratch paper. For the most part, but with a few exceptions, each page of this book contains rhymes and axioms in the order they initially came into my mind.
