Book excerpt: Using Scripture and personal narrative, Courageously Expecting empathizes with and empowers women to face a pregnancy after loss with faith and courage, despite inevitable feelings of grief and fear that accompany life after losing a baby. Pregnancy is widely regarded as the most joyful time in a woman's life, but for the mother who has experienced pregnancy loss, a subsequent pregnancy can feel like she's holding her breath and hoping for what she can't control. In Courageously Expecting, Jenny Albers meets women in this difficult season as someone who has also experienced the worst and cautiously hoped for the best. Through the telling of her own story, Scripture, and heartfelt prayer, she encourages readers to cling to faith in the face of fear and guides them to cultivate hope when doubt weighs heavy; realize that the past does not dictate the present or the future and that God creates a way in the wilderness of grief and loss; flip the script on the what-if, worst-case-scenario narrative in their minds and learn to take their thoughts captive; and find the courage to humble themselves and ask for and accept help from others. Regardless of where readers are on their pregnancy after loss journey, Courageously Expecting is a companion to help them through the days when fear overshadows hope.

Download or read book Walking with Dog written by Tom Vint and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2011-07-15 with total page 112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dogs are referred to as mans best friend. They love their masters unconditionally, no matter how the master behaves. Even if the master has flaws, a dog will still show love and devotion. They are forgiving, compassionate, and attentive, and what do they ask in return? To be lovedsimply, honestly, all a dog wants is to be loved. So what do dogs have to do with God? More than you might think! In Walking with Dog, Labrador enthusiast and dog lover Tom Vint provides an enlightening view of our loving housemates. He asks the question: What if God built human relationships with dogs as mirrors of Gods relationship with His people? After all, God loves us unconditionally. God is willing to forgive our flaws. God is always attentive, and He only asks for our love in return. As Christians, we were all puppies once. We all had need of training and guidance in the ways of our Master. We were never perfect; we will never be perfect. Yet God gives us loving discipline to keep us on the right path, just as we do with our furry friends. There are heartwarming correlations between God and dogs, and Christian dog owners will relate. Dogs may be mans best friends, but we are Gods best friends, and He is waiting to open His arms and love us.
Book Synopsis Jesus and His Dog (Colored Version) by : Michael Considine Jr
Download or read book Jesus and His Dog (Colored Version) written by Michael Considine Jr and published by Speedy Publishing LLC. This book was released on 2014-03-14 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Author truly believes that the dog is God's most perfect creation, and it shows by the unconditional love dog shows for man. This trait is not shown by any other creature and only shown in the relationship dog has with man, and is a gift from God to man. God is the only other that shows this unconditional love towards man, so the Author feels the dog is very special in God's eyes, even the name "Dog" is a reflection of the name "God". This book will touch on all your emotions, happiness, sadness, anger and in the final chapter this Author's vision of why dogs go to heaven, you will feel the unconditional love given to man only from God and Dog. We all have heard the Gospel stories of Jesus, but the Author tastefully injected a loving companion dog into some of these beautiful stories. He knew some might take offense with him messing with the Gospels, but he is a man of great faith as well as a dog parent, and he takes great pain in writing this book so as to not change the Gospel's real meaning. The best way to see if this book is for you is to hit the look inside button, and you will be able to read the full chapter before you buy. There are a few purely fictional chapters that were added, but they are respectfully written and take nothing from the scriptures.

Book Synopsis Dog Is God Spelled Backwards by : Marcella Bickerstaff
Download or read book Dog Is God Spelled Backwards written by Marcella Bickerstaff and published by . This book was released on 2011-03 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God is always speaking to us, but most of the time we just aren't listening. We either don't discern His voice or we just ignore Him when He does speak. Far too often, He has to use various ways of getting our attention. In my situation, He chose to use what I cherished the most--my dogs--to make me aware of His Love and Goodness. God speaks in the most unusual, extraordinary, and sometimes funny ways. He speaks the loudest during our times of pain and suffering when we need Him the most.Too often, I experienced pain and unnecessary loss because I ignored Him when He spoke. It was during a traumatic event that it finally dawned on me how long He had been trying to get me to tune my antenna to His frequency, which resonated on the wavelength of my heart. There is no static on His frequency, there only was on mine. I finally figured out that by clearing up the static on my channel, I would always receive clear signals from His transmitter and ride upon His wavelength. By obeying and following His instructions, I can experience more joy, instead of pain or loss. The second lesson I learned was to never give up on praying. Praying is the direct channel into God's throne room of grace and mercy, from which He transmits the signals of love that broadcast answered prayers and instructions. It has been through my journey with dogs that He transmitted the most, because they were the bandwidth on my radio receiver that I operated on. He created them, so He can use them in whatever capacity He chooses. They were just one way He chose to show me how much He really loves me. I just needed to listen and then obey Him.
