Book excerpt: A Moment in Heaven, Hell, Earth, Judgement and Back Again. It was a great discovery - there is more after death; but of course I'm not the first to say this, many have witnessed this. However each one of us who has gone through this experience seems to come back with a little more to add to the story of us. My experience involves an interaction with God and our enemy. It involves seeing the wonder of God and the other realm that lays not only beyond our death but is all around us, unseen by living human beings. I also have two people who can in a way confirm this happened to me. One who saw the power of God while alive and well, and the other who had a visit in a dream that same night of the enemy capturing me. It was a unique experience. I hope this settles it once and for all for everyone - there is a God

Also included is the new section, “Wrestling With the Big Questions” where Bill answers these and many others questions: Why do some people who have a near-death experience see a bright light? She knew these encounters were meant as a wake-up call for herself and others, so she has made it her mission to share this message with the world. The Hell Conspiracy is a somber warning. It records harrowing accounts of souls enduring endless torture and eternal separation from God. It also reveals terrifying secrets of the afterlife in Hell, including... The five pains of hell: water, bone marrow, breath, agreement, and the garment. The activity of demons. The connection between unforgiveness and eternal torment. The ultimate destination and fate of the condemned. The changing shape of people's bodies in hell. But this book is also a beacon of hope! These horrors are contrasted with the glorious hope of Heaven. Those who receive salvation through Jesus escape torment and experience an eternity of life as it was meant to be: as renewed bodies, souls, and spirits in perfect relationship with God. The alarm is sounding! Heaven and Hell are real. Where will you go?

Book excerpt: God Saved Me is written to encourage believers to be aware of their position in Christ and be willing to prepare their minds and hearts for the challenges ahead. Then, believers should be available to participate in sharing the good news whenever and with whomever God gives the opportunity. God Saved Me addresses critical concerns for outreach and witnessing, focusing on the local churchs responsibility; the importance of prayer in witnessing; reliance on the Word of God; dealing with fear and guilt; being approved as a person of faith; making Christ the topic; and development of a personal testimony that can be shared repeatedly. This book speaks directly to the need for believers to come together in support of one another and make a commitment to follow Christs directive to make disciples wherever an opportunity is presented. Using anecdotal comments and personal accounts of outreach, God Saved Me provides fresh insight to help believers respond to the need for people of faith to get in the fight for the souls of their families, friends, and loved ones. Rev. Wylie Comp has written one of the most comprehensive books on the subject of Christian witnessing that I have ever had the privilege of reading or reviewing. God Saved Me is written on a level that anyone can understand and use as a guide for becoming an effective Christian soldier in the army of God. Dr. Gerald F. Book excerpt: As a girl, Alia Joy came face to face with weakness, poverty, and loss in ways that made her doubt God was good. There were times when it felt as if God had abandoned her. What she didn't realize then was that God was always there, calling her to abandon herself. In this deeply personal exploration of what it means to be "poor in spirit," Joy challenges our cultural proclivity to "pull ourselves up by our own bootstraps." She calls on readers to embrace true vulnerability and authenticity with God and with one another, showing how weakness does not disqualify us from inclusion in the kingdom of God--instead, it is our very invitation to enter in. Anyone who has struggled with feeling inadequate, disillusioned, or just too broken will find hope. This message is an antidote to despair, helping readers reclaim the ways God is good, even when life is anything but.

Book excerpt: The majority Evangelical view is that once someone has accepted Christ as Saviour they are guaranteed salvation. But is it safe to assume that once we are saved, we are saved for always? David Pawson investigates this through biblical evidence, historical figures such as Augustine, Luther and Wesley, and evangelical assumptions about grace and justification, divine sovereignty and human responsibility. He asks whether something more than being born again is required so that our inheritance is not lost. This book helps us decide whether ‘once saved, always saved’ is real assurance or a misleading assumption. The answer will have profound effects on the way we live and disciple others.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'A Moment with God' is an inspirational and motivational treatise. The title was born out of my exigent experience in the world of Salvation. I gave my life to the Lord, yet I never knew what it meant to be born again. I was like in a completely alien world, where I had never been before. Consequently, I learned that new believers struggle tremendously in the seemingly unknown world of Salvation, so much so that, many end up despairing. A Moment with God offers very fundamental information and motivation to new believers. The book gives some kind of reconnaissance information regarding the new world of Salvation, what to expect, and more so the immense role of Jesus Christ as the Savior of the whole World. The book profoundly borrows from my personal experiences, but tactically compounds these narratives with the Word of God and my spiritual knowledge. I not only wish that this book be a source of information and encouragement to new believers, but also parents, nonbelievers, and anyone who wants to know Jesus Christ more. I encourage parents to read the book because I have explored the issue of domestic violence in homes and how the vice has a long-term negative implication on children. The effects usually lead to drug abuse, depression, and even suicide. I grew up in a home where domestic violence was a norm. My foster father was so violent that he could force me to sleep naked inside cold water at night; and yet, I was only 8 years old then. The torture that my mommy and I suffered plunged me to drug abuse and addiction, as well as many other ills such as visiting diviners. In the book, I have explored other practices such as divination and sorcery that parents engage in without taking into account the strongholds they are predisposing their children and family into. A Moment with God is a journey of Salvation and growth in the Lord, which could encourage anyone. The Lord saved me and gave me an opportunity to have a relationship with Him, even when I was so wicked. In fact, the Lord used a dream to rescue me from substance addiction. I found myself standing next to the endless pit in hell. After this dream, details of which I have given in part two of the book, addiction evaporated like thin air; and today I feel so much indebted to the Lord for saving me and giving me an opportunity to know Him. My experiences with the Lord would also affirm the existence of the spiritual world, for those who doubt. The book also speaks about dreams and tongues, subjects that many Christians grapple with. The book would truly encourage your spiritual growth in the Lord and more so help you to navigate in the world of Salvation.

Book excerpt: A compassionate, shame-free guide for your darkest days “A one-of-a-kind book . . . to read for yourself or give to a struggling friend or loved one without the fear that depression and suicidal thoughts will be minimized, medicalized or over-spiritualized.”—Kay Warren, cofounder of Saddleback Church What happens when loving Jesus doesn’t cure you of depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts? You might be crushed by shame over your mental illness, only to be told by well-meaning Christians to “choose joy” and “pray more.” So you beg God to take away the pain, but nothing eases the ache inside. As darkness lingers and color drains from your world, you’re left wondering if God has abandoned you. You just want a way out. But there’s hope. In I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die, Sarah J. Robinson offers a healthy, practical, and shame-free guide for Christians struggling with mental illness. With unflinching honesty, Sarah shares her story of battling depression and fighting to stay alive despite toxic theology that made her afraid to seek help outside the church. Pairing her own story with scriptural insights, mental health research, and simple practices, Sarah helps you reconnect with the God who is present in our deepest anguish and discover that you are worth everything it takes to get better. Beautifully written and full of hard-won wisdom, I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die offers a path toward a rich, hope-filled life in Christ, even when healing doesn’t look like what you expect.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Everlasting hell and divine judgment, a lake of fire and brimstone--these mainstays of evangelical tradition have come under fire once again in recent decades. Would the God of love revealed by Jesus really consign the vast majority of humankind to a destiny of eternal, conscious torment? Is divine mercy bound by the demands of justice? How can anyone presume to know who is saved from the flames and who is not? Reacting to presumptions in like manner, others write off the fiery images of final judgment altogether. If there is a God who loves us, then surely all are welcome into the heavenly kingdom, regardless of their beliefs or behaviors in this life. Yet, given the sheer volume of threat rhetoric in the Scriptures and the wickedness manifest in human history, the pop-universalism of our day sounds more like denial than hope. Mercy triumphs over judgment; it does not skirt it. Her Gates Will Never Be Shut endeavors to reconsider what the Bible and the Church have actually said about hell and hope, noting a breadth of real possibilities that undermines every presumption. The polyphony of perspectives on hell and hope offered by the prophets, apostles, and Jesus humble our obsessive need to harmonize every text into a neat theological system. But they open the door to the eternal hope found in Revelation 21-22: the City whose gates will never be shut; where the Spirit and Bride perpetually invite the thirsty who are outside the city to "Come, drink of the waters of life."

Book excerpt: Central to God’s character is the quality of holiness. Yet, even so, most people are hard-pressed to define what God’s holiness precisely is. Many preachers today avoid the topic altogether because people today don’t quite know what to do with words like “awe” or “fear.” R. C. Sproul, in this classic work, puts the holiness of God in its proper and central place in the Christian life. He paints an awe-inspiring vision of God that encourages Christian to become holy just as God is holy. Once you encounter the holiness of God, your life will never be the same.

Book excerpt: Millions of Christians have struggled with how to reconcile God's love and God's judgment: Has God created billions of people over thousands of years only to select a few to go to heaven and everyone else to suffer forever in hell? Is this acceptable to God? How is this "good news"? Troubling questions—so troubling that many have lost their faith because of them. Others only whisper the questions to themselves, fearing or being taught that they might lose their faith and their church if they ask them out loud. But what if these questions trouble us for good reason? What if the story of heaven and hell we have been taught is not, in fact, what the Bible teaches? What if what Jesus meant by heaven, hell, and salvation are very different from how we have come to understand them? What if it is God who wants us to face these questions? Author, pastor, and innovative teacher Rob Bell presents a deeply biblical vision for rediscovering a richer, grander, truer, and more spiritually satisfying way of understanding heaven, hell, God, Jesus, salvation, and repentance. The result is the discovery that the "good news" is much, much better than we ever imagined. Love wins.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most evangelical Christians believe that those people who are not saved before they die will be punished in hell forever. But is this what the Bible truly teaches? Do Christians need to rethink their understanding of hell? In the late twentieth century, a growing number of evangelical theologians, biblical scholars, and philosophers began to reject the traditional doctrine of eternal conscious torment in hell in favor of a minority theological perspective called conditional immortality. This view contends that the unsaved are resurrected to face divine judgment, just as Christians have always believed, but due to the fact that immortality is only given to those who are in Christ, the unsaved do not exist forever in hell. Instead, they face the punishment of the "second death"--an end to their conscious existence. This volume brings together excerpts from a variety of well-respected evangelical thinkers, including John Stott, John Wenham, and E. Earl Ellis, as they articulate the biblical, theological, and philosophical arguments for conditionalism. These readings will give thoughtful Christians strong evidence that there are indeed compelling reasons for rethinking hell.
