Book excerpt: God Moves Me... Our Heavenly Father is everywhere and in every situation of our lives. He places people on our paths or in their journey for His purpose and His plan. He does not waver or hold grudges as He quietly waits for us to return to Him so that He can immerse us in unearthly love, kindness, and compassion that only He can provide. The gift of servanthood that God has blessed me with aligns with my faith and life values. He does not want his children to miss out on the opportunity to become His Disciples in this world today. Never pass up the chance to help someone regardless of who they are or what their circumstances may be. Always provide comfort and compassion to one another as we know and understand this is the will of our Father. Being a nurse, God has placed me in many situations and events that would specifically point to His mercy for others. He puts me where He needs me to do His will, and then He moves me... I can also witness to the fact that He provides for me the strength, the wisdom, and the endurance to always persevere in doing what is right and honorable to Him and others. His love, clemency, and gentleness are sufficient for me. May you be blessed by the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Ps115:15

Book excerpt: Now more than ever intercessors are needed to pray and usher in the end-time harvest by deploying the keys of the Kingdom to execute the judgments written against the heathens and the wicked. We must know the Dominion Mandate is still God's original plan for mankind. God wants man to have dominion in the earth. Until someone prays God can do nothing for humanity. But, we must also understand the rules of engagement to be effective in our prayers. In this book, through the study of the scriptures, stories of the men and women of renown in the Bible and through recounting the great revivals and prayer watches of this modern age, we see that ordinary men and women were able to move God in prayer. These men and women have moved on to glory. But, their prayers are still producing power and the mantles they used to open the heavens and bring God into the affairs of men are available to us today. This book will empower, edify and encourage you to pray more effectively so that your prayers move God!

Book excerpt: A previous move of God, traditions, religion systems, human philosophy, perverse science, secular world view and doctrine of men can hinder the present work of God. When Jesus was doing his earthly ministry, it was the political figures, the religious leaders and followers of Judaism of the day, who opposed fresh move of God. Today the Holy Spirit is moving in a special way and God requires his people to respond well and respect his work and word. The God we worship and serve, he is a God of motion and mobility. God is never stationery or stagnant. But our God is the mighty God at work! What the Holy Spirit did in the book of acts he is doing today. The Holy Spirit wants the church, Christians and ministers of the gospel to produce much fruit, increase and multiply. It is very surprising how in the book of acts everywhere there was fruitfulness, increase and multiplication! Yet today the people of God settle for the least instead of Gods best. God requires you to be fruitful, increase and multiply in your entire life. Allow the Holy Spirit to work with your life and achieve his mighty progress. Look worldwide see and hear what God is doing and saying. The move of the Holy Spirit is here! Be part of it, Serve God and support the work of God.

Book excerpt: God’s End-Time Moves is as much about the outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit as it is about the affirmation of His Truth and Word, both of which shall touch down everywhere on earth. This book is a work of the End-Time Prophetic Mission, to show in what direction the Lord God of All Creation will be leading the world and, even more so, the Church. God is set to show in every way that the world is not in place by accident, and the Spirit of God will appear to walk on two feet while still being solidly Spirit. In His mercy and grace, God always allows an adequate period of preparation so that no one will be caught unaware, except by personal choice. God’s End-Time Moves, therefore, is His wakeup call!

Book excerpt: As a Black woman and a Christian, Marie Pierre felt the balance of the world shifting toward the positive when Barack Obamas presidential candidacy was announced in 2008. Like many, she saw in him a potential similar to that of Moses the ability to lead the people of America out of darkness. All her life, Marie has had periods of dreams centered on a common theme. During the election and in the early days of the Obama presidency, Marie experienced a series of recurring dreams seeking expression. With a pen and notepad next to her bed, Marie would awaken and remain as suspended in her dream-state as possible while she wrote down the thoughts and images streaming into her consciousness. This remarkable book is a collection of these transcriptions, reflecting realities of the president, his inner circle, and the nation. Marie is honored to share these prayers, meditations, and insights with you.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Moved by God to Act offers a fresh description of Christian moral action as a moment of connection between divine and human agency. Through an ecumenical consideration of a variety of resources, this book gives an accessible description of the work of God's grace not only in individual Christian agency but also within the dynamics of Christian community. Moved by God to Act brings the contemporary theological ethics of community into dialogue with the pneumatology of Thomas Aquinas. The ethic emerging from this dialogue lifts up the centrality of God's grace in Christian community while at the same time offering a detailed articulation of the human being as naturally and beautifully drawn into cooperation with God's grace in the ethical life. The book concludes by showing how Aquinas stands in substantial harmony with the contemporary authors discussed, offering a proper description of God's agency in individual Christian human agency and the dynamics of the "body" of the Christian community to which the contemporary discourse so rightly points. Moved by God to Act is an attempt to speak to the work of God in the life and day-to-day action of Christians and Christian communities as moved to act by the Holy Spirit.

Book Synopsis The Psychology of Jesus by : David W. Jones

Book excerpt: What do Alfred Adler, William Glasser, Albert Ellis, and Jesus have in common? Together they can help you have healthier relationships now. You don't have to be an ordained minister or a trained psychologist to appreciate the simple concepts found in this book: • "Who am I?" and "What's Wrong with Me?" Are Not Helpful Questions. • Better than "Who am I?" and "What's Wrong With Me?" • Are the Questions, "Where am I?" and "Where am I Going?" • Where I go (my behavior) is motivated toward achieving a goal. • Understand the goal, understand the behavior. • People and Events Don't Bother Us. Our Perceptions of Them Do. • We can't always choose our circumstances, • but we can always choose our response to circumstances. Along with these concepts, The Psychology of Jesus offers practical help for living in relationship through a close study of Jesus' encounters with people in the gospels and opportunities to examine your own life as you live it in relationship. REVIEWS: David Jones achieved the pledge he made in the book's introduction to offer from psychology and the gospel accounts of the life of Jesus practical help for living in relationships. In each chapter he uses biblical texts, stories and quotations to challenge the reader's thinking. A section on applying each chapter's content to life is included, along with a personal exercise. He effectively challenges the questions people ask themselves to achieve personal and spiritual growth. Instead of "Who is God?" Jones says we should ask "Where is God?" A better self-directed question than "Who am I?" should be "Where am I going?" In answering these questions, we come to understand God is where the sinners are and we should be where God is. I strongly recommend this book. Ann Bishop I read this book in a group setting over the course of several weeks. We discussed 2 chapters at a time in the group each week. The subtitle of the book is very revealing and very appropriate---"Practical Help for Living in a Relationship". The author takes various text readings from the Bible all involving Jesus obviously and then breaks down the "movements" of Jesus. Jesus is interacting with people in all the chosen text excerpts--and so the challenge is to see how we can apply this interaction into our own modern day relationships. I'm not sure I like the first part of the Title of the book---The Psychology of Jesus--only because it made me feel (before I picked up the book) that Jesus was pre-planning and/or pre-meditating all of his encounters in the Bible in order to prove a point. Perhaps he was. But Psychology is pretty much a modern day term and so the beauty of the book is that the author applies modern day psychology to the actions of Jesus way back when. And it works. The insights about the "movements" of Jesus both away from and towards his encounters along with the exercises at the end of each chapter helped me to understand more clearly how we should all strive to have meaningful relationships. And what happens when a relationship ceases to grow. Mark Oldham David Jones offers solid practical guidance for understanding what motivates our behavior in relationships. He weaves a number of psychological theories with examples from relationships in the life of Jesus to illustrate that Jesus' interpersonal style is to be a loving presence. "The Psychology of Jesus" as described by David is a way of relating that supports our innate desire for growth and change in our lives. It is not a psychology intended to "fix us" or our circumstances but rather to enable us. This type of relationship provides a safe place where we can understand and be understood. It is this climate of "understanding" that is the source or power to effect meaningful change in our lives, as much as, or more than "doing." Throughout his book, the message is clear - IF action is warranted, it is far more likely to have the desired effect when nonjudgemental understanding preceds it. David's writing is insightful and sensitive and reflects a Pastor's heart. It provokes self-examination without any sense of self-recrimination. I have witnessed the use of the book's material in a group discussion setting where it fosters a climate of trust that allows for openness and positive change for the better. I have found it very helpful for understanding my behavior and relationships. Jim Quiggins

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The Summa Theologica is the best-known work of Italian philosopher, scholar, and Dominican friar SAINT THOMAS AQUINAS (1225 1274), widely considered the Catholic Church s greatest theologian. Famously consulted (immediately after the Bible) on religious questions at the Council of Trent, Aquinas s masterpiece has been considered a summary of official Church philosophy ever since. Aquinas considers approximately 10,000 questions on Church doctrine covering the roles and nature of God, man, and Jesus, then lays out objections to Church teachings and systematically confronts each, using Biblical verses, theologians, and philosophers to bolster his arguments. In Volume I, Aquinas addresses: the existence and perfection of God the justice and mercy of God predestination the cause of evil the union of body and soul free will and fate and much more. This massive work of scholarship, spanning five volumes, addresses just about every possible query or argument that any believer or atheist could have, and remains essential, more than seven hundred years after it was written, for clergy, religious historians, and serious students of Catholic thought."
