En revanche, la communauté peut accepter plus volontiers d'agir sur ce cadre contextuel favorisant la survenue du problème de santé déterminé, soit sur des aspects connexes de la pathologie, détectables au niveau de l'environnement, dans l'espace communautaire et /ou les espaces contigus. Ce sont souvent des comportements malsains qui génèrent un état d'extrême insalubrité généralisée, supportant un classique péril infectieux de sociétés traditionnelles, et qui demeurent parmi les fondements de lieux porteurs de risques. Les investigations du géographe en interface environnement / comportement pratiquées à l'échelle communautaire, gardent leur légitimité et leur utilité pour parfaire le diagnostic communautaire, selon une perspective de santé communautaire qui voudrait obtenir des solutions ajustées pour éliminer un problème dénoncé par des personnels de santé et répondre correctement aux besoins ressentis par une communauté. Ces solutions adaptées à la situation sanitaire décryptée à travers l'espace communautaire et au sein de groupes humains sont de multiples natures. Les mesures curatives, préventives, éducatives et la surveillance à vertus prédictive intègrent divers horizons disciplinaires qui associent des éléments géographiques à des aspects biologiques, sociaux, sanitaires, économiques, politico-administratifs... autant de faits et de déterminants de santé.
