Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Multivariable complex analysis and harmonic analysis provide efficient techniques to study many applied mathematical problems. The main objective of a conference held in Bordeaux in June 1995, in honour of Professor Roger Gay, was to connect these mathematical fields with some of their applications. This was also the guideline for the fourteen contributions collected in this volume. Besides presenting new results, each speaker made a substantial effort in order to present an up to date survey of his field of research. All the subjects presented here are very active domains of research: integral geometry (with its relation to X-ray tomography), classical harmonic analysis and orthogonal polynomials, pluricomplex potential theory (with its deep connection with polynomial approximation), complex analytic methods in the theory of partial differentiable operators with constant coefficients (in the spirit of those initiated by Leon Ehrenpreis), Calderon-Zygmund operators and nonlinear operators, oscillatory integrals and resonance, and finally multivariable residue theory in its most recent developments. It is hoped that the reader will find enough insight in the different survey papers presented here to become involved with one of these subjects or to pursue further applications.
Book Synopsis Harmonic Analysis, Partial Differential Equations, Complex Analysis, Banach Spaces, and Operator Theory (Volume 1) by : María Cristina Pereyra
Download or read book Harmonic Analysis, Partial Differential Equations, Complex Analysis, Banach Spaces, and Operator Theory (Volume 1) written by María Cristina Pereyra and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-09-15 with total page 380 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Covering a range of subjects from operator theory and classical harmonic analysis to Banach space theory, this book contains survey and expository articles by leading experts in their corresponding fields, and features fully-refereed, high-quality papers exploring new results and trends in spectral theory, mathematical physics, geometric function theory, and partial differential equations. Graduate students and researchers in analysis will find inspiration in the articles collected in this volume, which emphasize the remarkable connections between harmonic analysis and operator theory. Another shared research interest of the contributors of this volume lies in the area of applied harmonic analysis, where a new notion called chromatic derivatives has recently been introduced in communication engineering. The material for this volume is based on the 13th New Mexico Analysis Seminar held at the University of New Mexico, April 3-4, 2014 and on several special sections of the Western Spring Sectional Meeting at the University of New Mexico, April 4-6, 2014. During the event, participants honored the memory of Cora Sadosky—a great mathematician who recently passed away and who made significant contributions to the field of harmonic analysis. Cora was an exceptional mathematician and human being. She was a world expert in harmonic analysis and operator theory, publishing over fifty-five research papers and authoring a major textbook in the field. Participants of the conference include new and senior researchers, recent doctorates as well as leading experts in the area.
Book Synopsis Complex Analysis and Special Topics in Harmonic Analysis by : Carlos A. Berenstein
Download or read book Complex Analysis and Special Topics in Harmonic Analysis written by Carlos A. Berenstein and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 491 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A companion volume to the text "Complex Variables: An Introduction" by the same authors, this book further develops the theory, continuing to emphasize the role that the Cauchy-Riemann equation plays in modern complex analysis. Topics considered include: Boundary values of holomorphic functions in the sense of distributions; interpolation problems and ideal theory in algebras of entire functions with growth conditions; exponential polynomials; the G transform and the unifying role it plays in complex analysis and transcendental number theory; summation methods; and the theorem of L. Schwarz concerning the solutions of a homogeneous convolution equation on the real line and its applications in harmonic function theory.

Book Synopsis Tauberian Theory by : Jacob Korevaar
Download or read book Tauberian Theory written by Jacob Korevaar and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 497 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tauberian theory compares summability methods for series and integrals, helps to decide when there is convergence, and provides asymptotic and remainder estimates. The author shows the development of the theory from the beginning and his expert commentary evokes the excitement surrounding the early results. He shows the fascination of the difficult Hardy-Littlewood theorems and of an unexpected simple proof, and extolls Wiener's breakthrough based on Fourier theory. There are the spectacular "high-indices" theorems and Karamata's "regular variation", which permeates probability theory. The author presents Gelfand's elegant algebraic treatment of Wiener theory and his own distributional approach. There is also a new unified theory for Borel and "circle" methods. The text describes many Tauberian ways to the prime number theorem. A large bibliography and a substantial index round out the book.
Book Synopsis Harmonic Analysis, Partial Differential Equations, Banach Spaces, and Operator Theory (Volume 2) by : María Cristina Pereyra
Download or read book Harmonic Analysis, Partial Differential Equations, Banach Spaces, and Operator Theory (Volume 2) written by María Cristina Pereyra and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-07-10 with total page 469 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the second of a two volume series. Covering a range of subjects from operator theory and classical harmonic analysis to Banach space theory, this book features fully-refereed, high-quality papers exploring new results and trends in weighted norm inequalities, Schur-Agler class functions, complex analysis, dynamical systems, and dyadic harmonic analysis. Graduate students and researchers in analysis will find inspiration in the articles collected in this volume, which emphasize the remarkable connections between harmonic analysis and operator theory. A survey of the two weight problem for the Hilbert transform and an expository article on the Clark model to the case of non-singular measures and applications to the study of rank-one perturbations are included. The material for this volume is based on the 13th New Mexico Analysis Seminar held at the University of New Mexico, April 3-4, 2014 and on several special sections of the Western Spring Sectional Meeting at the University of New Mexico, April 4-6,2014. Book Synopsis Generalized Harmonic Analysis and Wavelet Packets by : Khalifa Trimeche
Download or read book Generalized Harmonic Analysis and Wavelet Packets written by Khalifa Trimeche and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2001-03-07 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book presents a more comprehensive treatment of transmutation operators associated with the Bessel operator, and explores many of their properties. They are fundamental in the complete study of the Bessel harmonic analysis and the Bessel wavelet packets. Many applications of these theories and their generalizations have been injected throughout the text by way of a rich collection of problems and references. The results and methods in this book should be of interest to graduate and researchers working in special functions such as Fourier analysis, hypergroup and operator theories, differential equations, probability theory and mathematical physics. Background materials are given in adequate detail to enable a graduate student to proceed rapidly from the very basics of the frontier of research in the area of generalized harmonic analysis and wavelets.
