Book Synopsis Solubility of Gases and Liquids by : W. Gerrard
Download or read book Solubility of Gases and Liquids written by W. Gerrard and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-11 with total page 275 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The solubility of gases and liquids in liquids is of great importance in large areas of operations based on chemical concepts. Phenomena have appeared to be so varied that even experts have from time to time remarked on the difficulty of seeing a consistent pattern. Now for the first time the essential pattern of all known gas solubility data is set out in a graphic form for all to see. The continuous merging of the gas-liquid systems and the liquid-liquid systems is also illustrated. The pattern opens the way to rational predictions. The new data given for the lower alkanes and alkenes, the three methylamines, ammonia, bromomethane, and chloroethane, together with my previously reported data on hydrogen sulfide, dimethyl ether, chloromethane, and sulfur dioxide, have been obtained by a bubbler-manometer procedure which is fully described. Not only are these data of significance in many chemical processes, but they have also been vital to the development of the overall essential pattern covering all gases. The book is for chemists, chemical engineers, biotechnologists, certain physi cists, and teachers and students in these disciplines. It is a book for all those who are concerned with the use and inculcation of the fundamental, even rudimentary, principles of chemistry.

Book Synopsis Working Guide to Vapor-Liquid Phase Equilibria Calculations by : Tarek Ahmed
Download or read book Working Guide to Vapor-Liquid Phase Equilibria Calculations written by Tarek Ahmed and published by Gulf Professional Publishing. This book was released on 2009-08-27 with total page 149 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Working Guide to Vapor-Liquid Phase Equilibria Calculations offers a practical guide for calculations of vapor-phase equilibria. The book begins by introducing basic concepts such as vapor pressure, vapor pressure charts, equilibrium ratios, and flash calculations. It then presents methods for predicting the equilibrium ratios of hydrocarbon mixtures: Wilson's correlation, Standing's correlation, convergence pressure method, and Whitson and Torp correlation. The book describes techniques to determine equilibrium ratios of the plus fraction, including Campbell's method, Winn's method, and Katz's method. The remaining chapters cover the solution of phase equilibrium problems in reservoir and process engineering; developments in the field of empirical cubic equations of state (EOS) and their applications in petroleum engineering; and the splitting of the plus fraction for EOS calculations. - Includes explanations of formulas - Step by step calculations - Provides examples and solutions
Book Synopsis Liquid-vapor and Solid-liquid-vapor Equilibrium in Natural Gas Systems by : E. Dendy Sloan
