Book Synopsis Introduction to Multiphase Flow by : George Yadigaroglu
Download or read book Introduction to Multiphase Flow written by George Yadigaroglu and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-08-19 with total page 221 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the maiden volume in a new series devoted to lectures delivered through the annual seminars “Short Courses on Multiphase Flow,” held primarily at ETH Zurich continuously since 1984. The Zurich short courses, presented by prominent specialists in the various topics covered, have attracted a very large number of participants. This series presents fully updated and when necessary re-grouped lectures in a number of topical volumes. The collection aims at giving a condensed, critical and up-to-date view of basic knowledge on multiphase flows in relation to systems and phenomena encountered in industrial applications. The present volume covers the background of Multiphase Flows (MPF) that introduces the reader to the particular nature and complexity of multiphase flows and to basic but critical aspects of MPFs including concepts and the definition of the quantities of interest, an introduction to modelling strategies for MPFs, flow regimes, flow regime maps and tr ansition criteria. It also deals with the ubiquitous needs of the multiphase-flow modeller, namely pressure drop and phase distribution, i.e., the void fraction and the topology of the phases that determines the flow regimes.

Book Synopsis Preliminary Weight Estimates for Advanced Dynamic Energy Conversion Systems by : George D. Huffman
Download or read book Preliminary Weight Estimates for Advanced Dynamic Energy Conversion Systems written by George D. Huffman and published by . This book was released on 1963 with total page 112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An assessment of working fluids for use in a high-temperature dynamic power conversion system is presented. The method of comparison of the various fluids consists of a preliminary design of the major system components. The results are presented as conversion system weights for the considered fluids, potassium, sodium, lithium, bismuth, and lead, at various values of turbine inlet temperatures. On the basis of the generated data, it has been concluded that only potassium and sodium are practical for use as a working fluid in the temperature range of consideration, 2000 to 4000 R. It is further concluded that potassium and sodium at turbine inlet temperatures from 2800 to 3200 R offer systems of sufficiently low weight to warrant further and more detailed investigations.

Book Synopsis Multiphase Flow Dynamics 2 by : Nikolay Ivanov Kolev
Download or read book Multiphase Flow Dynamics 2 written by Nikolay Ivanov Kolev and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2005-08-15 with total page 702 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Multi-phase flows are part of our natural environment such as tornadoes, typhoons, air and water pollution and volcanic activities as well as part of industrial technology such as power plants, combustion engines, propulsion systems, or chemical and biological industry. The industrial use of multi-phase systems requires analytical and numerical strategies for predicting their behavior. In its third extended edition this book contains theory, methods and practical experience for describing complex transient multi-phase processes in arbitrary geometrical configurations. This book provides a systematic presentation of the theory and practice of numerical multi-phase fluid dynamics. In the present second volume the mechanical and thermal interactions in multiphase dynamics are provided. This third edition includes various updates, extensions, improvements and corrections.
Download or read book Heat and Mass Transfer written by and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2019-09-11 with total page 408 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Heat and mass transfer is the core science for many industrial processes as well as technical and scientific devices. Automotive, aerospace, power generation (both by conventional and renewable energies), industrial equipment and rotating machinery, materials and chemical processing, and many other industries are requiring heat and mass transfer processes. Since the early studies in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, there has been tremendous technical progress and scientific advances in the knowledge of heat and mass transfer, where modeling and simulation developments are increasingly contributing to the current state of the art. Heat and Mass Transfer - Advances in Science and Technology Applications aims at providing researchers and practitioners with a valuable compendium of significant advances in the field.
