Book Synopsis Towards a New Theory of the Firm: Humanizing the Firm and the Management Profession by : Josep Maria Rosanas Martí
Download or read book Towards a New Theory of the Firm: Humanizing the Firm and the Management Profession written by Josep Maria Rosanas Martí and published by Fundacion BBVA. This book was released on 2012 with total page 444 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. La primera, On Leaders and Society: What Future Are We Building Today?

This book was released on 2012 with total page 445 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Ibero-American Bioethics by : Léo Pessini
Download or read book Ibero-American Bioethics written by Léo Pessini and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009-12-16 with total page 396 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the first in a series of planned volumes focused on preserving the character of the development of bioethics in particular cultural contexts. As the first of these volumes, Leo Pessini, Christian de Paul de Barchifontaine, and Fernando Lolas Stepke’s work has succeeded well. It has brought together accounts by sch- ars who were crucial to the emergence of bioethics in the Ibero-American cultural domain. This trail-blazing work in the history of bioethics will be of enduring s- nificance. I am deeply in their debt for having shouldered this far from easy task. Bioethics is the product of very particular socio-historical developments. Most prominent among them have been (1) the secularization of the dominant culture of North America, Western Europe, and now Central and South America as well, (2) a deflation of the status and authority of physicians as moral authorities able to guide their own profession, and (3) the salience of a post-traditional animus that gives c- tral place to persons as isolated atomic sources of moral authority. Bioethics initially took shape in North America as a post-Christian, post-professional, post-traditional social movement. This bioethics sought to establish a moral discourse for the public forum, a moral practice able to give practical guidance in hospitals and other insti- tions, and a body of undergirding and justifying theoretical reflections.

This book was released on 2012-10 with total page 271 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Standards and Audits for Ethics Management Systems by : Josef Wieland
Download or read book Standards and Audits for Ethics Management Systems written by Josef Wieland and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-14 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The articles collected in this volume deal with the contents and processes of good corporate practice. Their common question is how moral values and ethical demands can become an integral part of economic and corporate deci sions- in a way that is credible and comprehensible for the society. Generally accepted best practice or minimum requirements for codes of conduct matter in this context. They codify values like integrity, fairness, openness, honesty, truthfulness, solidarity and justice, which have to be im plemented in a company's day-to-day business. In one sentence: There is a need to develop criteria for seriosity and credibility, for evaluating and con trolling standards of conduct and the managerial systems created for this purpose. In the international arena terms like Ethics management system, Ethics program, Values program, Ethics audit and Social audit are in use to denote these management systems. In this context it seems to me that the European perspective results from the values driven integration of corporate govern ance (e.g. risk management, compliance), quality management (e.g. human capital, supply chain) and corporate citizenship (human rights, ecology, so cial responsibility, communitiy) into a comprehensive and consistent man agement decision system. The core value and common denominator of these areas is sustainability. This, for instance, as opposed to narrow compliance programs that are largely law driven, to use a distinction which Lynn S. Paine introduced.
