Book Synopsis Developments in gender and management research in central and Eastern Europe by :
Download or read book Developments in gender and management research in central and Eastern Europe written by and published by Emerald Group Publishing. This book was released on 2005 with total page 84 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is limited scholarship that has considered gender, management and organizational analysis in Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries. The restructuring of state socialism which began in the 1980s with perestroika marked the start of industrial re-organisation across post-socialist states with large scale privatisation, worker layoffs and the development of managerial strategies away from centralised planning systems. These political and economic developments combined with globalisation, the internationalisation of work practices, increased foreign investment and business development.
Book Synopsis Das erweiterte Europa: Arbeitnehmerbeteiligung an der Entscheidungsfindung im Unternehmen by : Peter Jansen
Download or read book Das erweiterte Europa: Arbeitnehmerbeteiligung an der Entscheidungsfindung im Unternehmen written by Peter Jansen and published by Peter Lang. This book was released on 2009 with total page 458 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Political Socialisation, Participation, and Education by : Heinz Sünker
Download or read book Political Socialisation, Participation, and Education written by Heinz Sünker and published by Peter Lang Publishing. This book was released on 2003 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Given the catastrophic history of the `short 20th century' (Hobsbawm), the crucial question facing the new millennium - all over the world - is that of the future social as well as political development. At the centre of our engagement with this question should lie reflections on participatory forms of democratisation in as many societies around the globe as possible, so as to make globalisation more than simply an economic theme. Such reflections - as the contributions in this book show - from this perspective would also examine the possible ways in which relations might be constituted within political socialisation, participation and education. These concepts are in turn to be explored in the substantive discussions of `democracy' and `democratisation' in relation to individuals as well as political systems. If educational policy is social policy, if a democratic society demands citizens who are educated and thus capable of political action, the themes `Political Education' and `Political Socialisation' need to be addressed anew, and this is equally important for a rethinking of the future of the `political' more generally. The contributions to the book contribute to a challenging debate.

Download or read book Management of Permanent Change written by Horst Albach and published by Springer. This book was released on 2014-12-09 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the current times of more frequent crises and ever shortening innovation cycles, the management of change has become a crucial task of survival. While it is not a new topic in business research, the developments of the last decade have posed many new challenges for the change management of firms and organizations and have thus also raised many new questions for academic research in business administration, which the present book turns to deepen. Its particular focus is on disruptive change including its driving forces as well as effective and sustainable management. This publication constitutes a collection of articles that discuss change and innovation processes across different sectors of the economy (industry, banking, and retail), the role of leadership and corporate governance for the effectiveness and sustainability of organizational change.
Book Synopsis Social Partnership at Work by : Carola M. Frege
Download or read book Social Partnership at Work written by Carola M. Frege and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2017-06-14 with total page 271 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book, originally published in 1999, provided the first comparative, in-depth analysis of workplace relations in east and west Germany. The collapse of communism and the ensuing process of reform means that East Germany provides a particularly interesting case, having experienced rapid and radical political and economic transformation, and representing an historically outstanding experiment of the shifting of an entire social system onto a different society. This book examines the success of the institutional transfer of west German labour organisations into east Germany workplaces and addresses central questions such as : Can capitalist labour institutions be imposed on a former communist workforce? What conditions determine the success or failure of these institutions? Can 'social partnership/ between capital and labour be learned?
