Download or read book Die Macht des Gedächtnisses: Entstehung und Wandel kommunaler Schriftkultur im spätmittelalterlichen Augsburg written by Mathias Franc Kluge and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2014-03-13 with total page 442 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Holistic Business Model Transformation written by Hartmut F. Binner and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-11-17 with total page 309 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes the control loop-oriented change management process for implementing a digital business model via the holistic Organization 4.0 MITO configuration management. The content chapter structure of this MITO book with the description of the different transformation design views is based on the higher-level operational control loop principle within the MITO model segments shown in Figure 1. Whereby the management segment (M) is still subdivided on the default side into the process-related management segment and on the feedback side into the fact-related management segment. The MITO business model based on this supplements the 5 model segments with the downstream customer and upstream supplier segments and integrates the hierarchical process level model into the MITO model representation for the conception of the process-oriented target, management and control system. This book is a translation of the original German 1st edition Ganzheitliche Businessmodell-Transformation by Hartmut F. Binner, published by Springer Fachmedien Wiesbaden GmbH, part of Springer Nature in 2020. The translation was done with the help of artificial intelligence (machine translation by the service DeepL.com). A subsequent human revision was done primarily in terms of content, so that the book will read stylistically differently from a conventional translation. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Bibliophiles and Bibliothieves, Opritsa Popa has documented what might justifiably be described as the most celebrated case of looting of two German cultural treasures by a member of the U.S. Army at the end of World War II and their subsequent odyssey across both an ocean and a continent: the pilfering from a cellar in Bad Wildungen of the ninth-century Liber Sapientiae, containing the two leaves of the oldest extant German heroic poem, the Old High German Hildebrandslied, along with the fourteenth-century illuminated Willehalm codex, both of which had been removed from the State Library in Kassel for protection from bombing raids.
Book Synopsis The Origins of Post-War German Politics (RLE: German Politics) by : Barbara Marshall
Download or read book The Origins of Post-War German Politics (RLE: German Politics) written by Barbara Marshall and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-12-17 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book discusses how the allies worked towards determining the political future of a defeated Germany. It oulines how the deep ideological divisions within the allied forces ultimately resulted in the division of Germany and discusses how indigenous political movements were impeded by a deeply felt distrust of German nationalism in all organisations. Yes these considerations are seen in the context of the masive logistical problems faced by the allies in restoring order to the chaos of war-ravaged Germany. Focusing on the experiences of Hanover, the book illustrates how post-war German politics are the result of a coalescence of distinct and at times even contradictory ideologies and interests, emphasising how the German political scene can only be understood in terms of the mutual interaction of personalities, beliefs and economics and of indigenous and foreign influences.
Book Synopsis Operation "Valkyrie" by : Winfried Heinemann
Download or read book Operation "Valkyrie" written by Winfried Heinemann and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2021-11-08 with total page 479 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 20 July 1944 is usually associated with the bomb plot to murder Hitler. However, what distinguishes Colonel Stauffenberg’s plan from all others is that the attempt on the Führer’s life was only to be the initial stage of a full military coup d’état. The aim was to overthrow the murderous regime, and to end the war as soon as possible. The conspiracy has long been analyzed from political, social, religious, or moral points of view. This book asks what the military dimension of the plan was. What traditions in the German army were at work, how was planning and preparation done, and why did the plot fail eventually? What is more: how did the conspiracy affect the German armies created in East and West after World War II, and also the Austrian Army? As the politicians among the conspirators thought in categories of Imperial Germany or at least the Weimar Republic, the officers among them were conditioned by the Reichswehr. Yet, Stauffenberg and some others were also bright intellectuals who were willing to incorporate their war experience into their plans, rendering them surprisingly modern at times. The coup d’état had been planned as meticulously as circumstances in war-torn Berlin allowed. However, as most officers had foreseen, once it became public knowledge that Hitler had survived Stauffenberg’s bomb, army units refused to act. The myth surrounding the "Führer" effectively prevented any military action against him. Still, the failed uprising had its effects: the regime took the opportunity to tilt the balance of power further in favor of Himmler and his fiefdom (SS, Gestapo, Police), to the detriment of the army which Hitler felt was too reactionary anyway. The leadership of the West German Bundeswehr always saw the failed uprising as part of its tradition, but it took time for this attitude to percolate down to the rank and file. For decades, some of the former Wehrmacht soldiers viewed Stauffenberg and his friends as "traitors". The book is the first to approach this important event in German history from a specifically military point of view, and that results in some surprising new results.

Book Synopsis Finding a Solution to Leadership by : Niels Brabandt
Download or read book Finding a Solution to Leadership written by Niels Brabandt and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2019-10-21 with total page 546 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Business and employee management are key subjects in business administration. For decades, actually for centuries, there has been a discussion about how effective leadership of people or employees can be realized. It has always been a major concern within market-based economic systems to learn how its products and services should be designed in order to generate consumer demand. That the discussion about business and employee management is more relevant than ever is linked to the fact that leadership situations are influenced by a variety of external factors. They include, in particular, political, cultural, social, demographic, economic, and technological developments. It is therefore required for business and employee management to be adapted to those external framework conditions on a permanent basis. In former times, the assumption in mainstream leadership research was that leadership success relied on specific personal characteristics. Later on, the prevailing view was that the decisive factors in employee management lied in specific leadership behavior or leadership styles. Today's research on leadership is dominated by situation-oriented approaches, providing for specific leadership concepts for specific organizational and employee-related structures. The present thesis is an attempt to bundle a variety of approaches to leadership with the aim of providing an overarching framework for concepts of a similar nature. Therefore, the leadership concept to be developed in what follows is to be characterized by the principles of holism and sustainability. The first step is to present the fundamentals of leadership and management in order to introduce key terms and concepts and provide an overview of the research on leadership. Chapter 3 deals with separately displaying the business and employee management approaches of various management pioneers, distinguishing between early and con-temporary pioneers. Each approach is presented in consideration of its key elements, its strengths and opportunities, as well as its weaknesses and limitations. The fourth chapter, finally, is devoted to developing a holistic and sustainable leader-ship concept.
