Book Synopsis Freemasonry's Royal Secret by : Arturo De Hoyos
Download or read book Freemasonry's Royal Secret written by Arturo De Hoyos and published by Westphalia Press. This book was released on 2014-05 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many have heard of the Thirty-third Degree and the Scottish Rite, but lesser known is that it sprung from an equally important Masonic system. Created by the Frenchman Stephen Morin in the 1760s, the 25-degree system known as the "Order of the Royal Secret" used many of the most important Masonic degrees of the time. With its genesis in the French Caribbean, by 1764 these "high degrees" were established in New Orleans, and by 1767 they were brought to Albany, New York. Ultimately, its rituals were absorbed into the Scottish Rite at its creation in 1801. This original work, copied from a rare manuscript, provides the complete original system, from 4° Secret Master, to 25° Prince of the Royal Secret. Also included are the detached degrees of Select Master of 27°, Knight of the Royal Arch, and Grand Master Ecose, which appeared at the back of the original manuscript.
Download or read book Sacred Secrets written by Mike Neville and published by The History Press. This book was released on 2012-06-01 with total page 282 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Who were Tubalcain, Aholiab and Zabud and what is their significance for the Freemason? There is a general interest in the rituals of Freemasonry, generated in part by the apparently obscure references they contain. This is the only book that offers a guide to the stories used in Masonic ritual and their links to the Bible and Christianity. The new Mason is directed to a 'serious contemplation of the Volume of the Sacred Law' — but that is easier said than done without a grounding in the Scriptures, something that fewer and fewer people have. The historical and geographical setting of the Bible is explained here, making such contemplation easier for Mason and non-Mason alike. Mike Neville has systematically cross-referenced the most influential Chapters of the Bible to the ceremonies. It is his intention to get Freemasons to understand the ritual — not just to memorise and regurgitate — as well as to elucidate for the non-Mason. Sacred Secrets will aid the clergy, theologians and any other person interested in Freemasonry to see the links between ritual and scripture.

Book Synopsis The Secrets of Freemasonry by : Robert Lomas
Download or read book The Secrets of Freemasonry written by Robert Lomas and published by Hachette UK. This book was released on 2011-09-01 with total page 270 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many people are curious about the existence of secret societies which claim to hold arcane religious or esoteric knowledge and pass it down through the generations via selected adepts. Classic Masonic writers including William Preston, Robert Gould, JSM Ward, AE Waite and WL Wilmshurst have written about secret traditions connected to the Temple of Sion. Each has different ideas about how mystical knowledge came into Freemasonry. Some say that the Charter of Larmenius reveals an underground line of Knight Templar Grand Masters who survived down to the nineteenth century. All agree there is a Secret Lodge or House of Adepts who continue to teach "true" knowledge of the ancient mysteries and that The Craft transmits beliefs linked to the Earls of Rosslyn, the Knights Templar, and Lodge Mother Kilwinning. Masonic expert Robert Lomas has collected together this thread of belief from old Masonic writers and rewritten it in modern English to make the ideas accessible to modern readers.
Download or read book Sworn in Secret written by Sanford Holst and published by . This book was released on 2012-04 with total page 388 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "This remarkable exploration of intriguing people and events in Freemasonry sheds new light on how this brotherhood's practices, symbols and rituals took shape. An extraordinary wealth of documents is found in this pursuit, including parchment manuscripts dating to the 1300s. The roots of Freemasonry are traced to the building of Solomon's Temple, the rise of Christianity, and the Crusades in Europe. Masonry's controversial relationship with the Knights Templar and Vatican also takes on new and significant meaning. The emergence of this secretive society in Britain had a strong influence on George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and other Masons who helped create a new country in America. All those struggles are seen through the experiences of people who lived through these events--often told in their own words and drawn from remarkable collections of records dating from those times. They reveal Freemasonry to be well-grounded in recognizable events, and show how its members influenced the world around them. Those influences are still felt in our lives today. Forty-five illustrations help bring to life this memorable journey of discovery."--Publisher description.

Book Synopsis The Complete Lodge Secretary by : Gordon Hunt
Download or read book The Complete Lodge Secretary written by Gordon Hunt and published by Lewis Masonic Pub Limited. This book was released on 2010-04-01 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A practical and useful guide giving extensive information of all the duties and responsibilities for any Freemason taking on the important role of Secretary within a Lodge. The well-being of a Lodge largely depends upon its Secretary. He has a unique position in it, with multi-dimensional reflections. The Secretary undertakes almost continuous year-long responsibility amidst his numerous livelihood chores. In the past many Secretaries used to be permanent officers of the Lodges, with the benefits that an experienced Secretary would manage the affairs of the Lodge smoothly, but current thinking is that no one should serve for more than two years so that junior members can involve themselves in Lodge affairs. The newcomers to this office often lack experience and this book is written with this background in mind: to provide guidance on the one hand and to help introduce modern management tools on the other. Each major topic which needs some action on the part of the Secretary is given a chapter. Checklists of activities relevant to each chapter are appended at the end of the chapter with cells against each activity to mark the date on which the activity is completed. The general principles in this practical guide hold good for the side degrees as well, with only minor and contextual modifications.

Download or read book Freemasonry: Royal Arch written by Christopher Earnshaw and published by . This book was released on 2020-11-06 with total page 300 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After the spiritual awakening following the Transmission of Light in the First Degree, the stimulation of the "dew" that animates the soul in the Second Degree, followed by the "Dark Night of the Soul" and the mystic resurrection in the Third Degree, the Mason is now perfected. However, without understanding the 25th Signpost, he is without a guide: "The Grand Master is dead, the Temple is not complete, and we have not found the Lost Word." Like the Royal Arch Degree, this book completes the journey, and understanding the symbolism of the Royal Arch, completes this remarkable transformation. *What was thought to be so important about the Royal Arch Degree that it is included in the Blue Lodge as a Chapter, as well as both the Scottish and York Rites? *What the various hints (Signposts) in the preceding three degrees were pointing to, and an explanation of the import of the Twenty-fifth Signpost. *How this degree categorically refutes any notion of the soul dying after death. *Why Freemasonry may hold the secret teaching that religions around the world, including the Abrahamic faiths, have either not found, or do not want the faithful to know. *Why Trinitarianism was thought to be so essential to Christianity that it was enshrined in law, and how Freemasonry's rituals complete this doctrine. *How the Third Degree completes the Mason's journey with a life-changing experience. This book answers these questions, and many more!
Book Synopsis Secret Handshakes and Rolled-Up Trouser Legs by : Richard Gan
Download or read book Secret Handshakes and Rolled-Up Trouser Legs written by Richard Gan and published by Lewis Masonic Pub Limited. This book was released on 2014-04-03 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There have been books written in the past purporting to expose the secrets of Freemasonry. By and large, these have been written by non-Masons, and have generally been somewhat negative and antagonistic toward Freemasons and Freemasonry, missing critical nuances and making unjustified assumptions. There have also been books written by Freemasons aimed primarily at new Freemasons, as an introduction to Freemasonry, and as such have tended to go over the heads of non-Masons. This book is written by a Freemason specifically for the non-Mason. It does not set out in any way to proselytize, nor does it attempt to justify the case for Freemasonry or to try and make Freemasonry more acceptable or sanitized. The format is encyclopedic, laid out in alphabetical order, so the reader can dip in and out on an eclectic basis. It is predominantly aimed at the non-Mason, but will be of considerable interest to all Freemasons.
