This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 465 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Based on the author's lecture notes for a course on Physical Chemistry of Oxides at High Temperatures held at the Graduate School of the Tokyo Institute of Technology, this book examines the micromechanism of migration of ions and electronic defects contained in solid and liquid oxides at high temperature. The book is primarily designed for use as a graduate-level text and includes 150 problems for students. The emphasis is on introduction of simple theories for transport properties of oxides, which can be universally used at low and high temperatures, for various combinations of oxides.

Book Synopsis Silicides: Fundamentals & Applications by : Francois D'heurle
Download or read book Silicides: Fundamentals & Applications written by Francois D'heurle and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2000-12-18 with total page 390 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Silicides were introduced into the technology of electronic devices some thirty years ago; since then, they have been continuously used to form both ohmic and rectifying contacts to silicon. Silicides are also important for other applications (thermoelectric devices and structural applications, such as jet engines), but it is not easy to find an updated reference containing both their basic properties, either chemical or physical, and the latest applications. The 16th Course of the International School of Solid State Physics, held in Erice (Italy) in the late spring of 1999, was intended to break artificial barriers between disciplines, and to gather people concerned with the properties and applications of silicides, regardless of the formal fields to which they belong, or of the practical goals they pursue. This book is therefore concerned with theory as well as applications, metallurgy as well as physics, and materials science as well as microelectronics.
Book Synopsis Atomic and Molecular Photoabsorption by : Joseph Berkowitz
Download or read book Atomic and Molecular Photoabsorption written by Joseph Berkowitz and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2002 with total page 370 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Atomic and Molecular Photoabsorption, Volume 1 describes and catalogs available spectral information relevant to how common gases interact with sunlight and other sources of electromagnetic radiation such as x-rays, flames, and plasmas. Photoabsorption is light's reduction in intensity and force when it passes through a column of gas or liquid. This book also includes a large number of data tables and figures that are invaluable to researchers because they help them select exactly which wavelengths to use in their experiments. The further distinguishing aspect of this book is its synthesis across a broad spectrum of wavelengths and compilation of data for a large number of atoms and molecules.

Book Synopsis A Thermodynamic Investigation of the Compounds In3sbte2, Insb and Inte by : A. K. Jena
Download or read book A Thermodynamic Investigation of the Compounds In3sbte2, Insb and Inte written by A. K. Jena and published by . This book was released on 1967 with total page 23 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The heats of formation at 78, 195 and 273K of the ternary compound In3SbTe2 based on the elements and based on the binary compounds InSb and InTe were measured. The heats of formation at these temperatures of the binary compounds InSb and InTe based on the elements were also determined. Heat contents and free energies of the three compounds were calculated from 0 to 800K. The free energies of formation, heats of formation and entropies of formation at 298K were calculated. The results show that the ternary compound is metastable with respect to InSb and InTe below 696K, but is stable above that temperature. The weaker bonding of In3SbTe2 results in a positive entropy of formation which with increasing temperature makes increasing negative contributions to the free energy and above 696K renders the compound stable. Download or read book Catalysis written by G. C. Bond and published by Royal Society of Chemistry. This book was released on 1982 with total page 412 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is an increasing challenge for chemical industry and research institutions to find cost-efficient and environmentally sound methods of converting natural resources into fuels chemicals and energy. Catalysts are essential to these processes and the Catalysis Specialist Periodical Report series serves to highlight major developments in this area. This series provides systematic and detailed reviews of topics of interest to scientists and engineers in the catalysis field. The coverage includes all major areas of heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysis and also specific applications of catalysis such as NOx control kinetics and experimental techniques such as microcalorimetry. Each chapter is compiled by recognised experts within their specialist fields and provides a summary of the current literature. This series will be of interest to all those in academia and industry who need an up-to-date critical analysis and summary of catalysis research and applications. Catalysis will be of interest to anyone working in academia and industry that needs an up-to-date critical analysis and summary of catalysis research and applications. Specialist Periodical Reports provide systematic and detailed review coverage in major areas of chemical research. Compiled by teams of leading experts in their specialist fields, this series is designed to help the chemistry community keep current with the latest developments in their field. Each volume in the series is published either annually or biennially and is a superb reference point for researchers. www.rsc.org/spr
