Das Siwi hat eine wesentliche Entwicklung durchlaufen und neue Merkmale übernommen, aber gleichzeitig sind Charakteristika aus alter Zeit erhalten geblieben, wodurch es zu einer umso interessanteren Sprache wird. Der Reichtum der hier vorgelegten Daten wird dabei helfen, das Siwi mit den anderen?orientalischen? Dialekten der Berbersprachen zu vergleichen und zu entscheiden, ob diese möglicherweise als eine Unterfamilie angesehen werden können.
