I have had people ask about articles that they can no longer find online. I decided after taking down my last personal blog that I did not want to lose all my hard work, so I collected all the articles into one volume. That is what you will find here. I also collected a volume of poetry, and of creative prompt work. The blog itself has been turned into a pdf file and is now filed away on my hard drive so that if I ever need to find anything from that blog, I will have access to it.

In the morning, all she can "remember" are events from her future. London is used to relying on reminder notes and a trusted friend to get through the day, but things get complicated when a new boy at school enters the picture. Luke Henry is not someone you'd easily forget, yet try as she might, London can't find him in her memories of things to come. When London starts experiencing disturbing flashbacks, or flash-forwards, as the case may be, she realizes it's time to learn about the past she keeps forgetting-before it destroys her future.

Book excerpt: Away from home in New York, Tabitha Douglas, an unwise, transitioning teenager in 1921, still wants the best for her newborn son and strongly believes it begins with his name, which she has not decided upon. After accepting that she has broken the cardinal rule of unwedded birth, she struggles to start well her son's life. But after abandoning her parents, the desperate girl meets seven complete strangers, much older, who are forced to help her because of their uncomfortable and even life threatening hostage situation where none of them can leave. They end up helping one another and eventually becoming friends. With their help, Tabitha gives her son a name, and he eventually becomes a success because of the help of those mentors in his life. Born in the "country" town of Magnolia, AR, growing up, I enjoyed stories and eventually began creating my own. My favorite aspect of writing is that by it, I can share a few stories of mine without displaying my "country" accent. Such things about myself as this, I find humorous my accent, my simplistic thinking and my old soul. Nevertheless, such factors are vital in my writings. Since I began, it has been my goal to tame such a personality into a unique style and mix it with Christian ideas to make the perfect story. Age fourteen, I discovered my love for writing, and though, perhaps, I still have not discovered my gift for it, if there, I continue to do it anyway.

Book excerpt: "Korean Theatre: From Rituals to the Avant-Garde is the most comprehensive book on Korean theatre which covers from ancient rituals to the modern theatre. It is an essential book for anyone who is interested in theatre or Korean theatre . . . The research that went in to make this book possible can only be described as phenomenal." Alyssa Kim, Ph.D. Hankuk University of Foreign Studies "The book has a clear, understandable organization. Professor Cho’s prose is succinct, readable, and void of fashionable academic jargon. I find the chapter beginning-historical context very useful, most especially those surrounding and shaping Korean theatre since the ‘50s. The early chapters on masked-dance plays and puppet theatre provide important information about Korean culture and the later chapters on Madanggŭk and North Korean proletarian drama shed light on area little known or understood by Western students of Korea. This book promises to be a singular contribution to English-language materials on Korean theatre, one written by a scholar with an encyclopedic knowledge of his subject." Richard Nichols, Ph.D. Emeritus Professor of Theatre Pennsylvania State University

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Every time I write my life story, it comes out how I feel but not always what I see. Every time I look in the mirror, it shows me all I can never hide raw & uncensored. It gives truth to me. How many of us have an alias pen name, nickname that were known as, other than our birth name? You dont have to raise your hand or nod your head, but at least try to smile even if its hard. I was bred & raised a Christian, but I feel I am less of a man & more of a God. Every poem I write at least one person like, but the ones written in sorrow & blood, People never forget & surprisingly love. Its hard for me to bleed externally when Ive been bleeding internally since I was born. By age eleven I had 13 wisdom teeth, & doctors call me extraordinary, by 14 I was suspended 15 times in two years, statistics called me ordinary! By 17 I was brilliant again, from publishing my first poetry book, result of heartbroken. Should have told the witch doctor never heal me, shouldve congratulated Cupid, for failing again, should have went to every wishing well, & retrieved every penny for my thoughts, instead of publishing my first poetry book, entitled, Poems From The Heart

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gregor Tassie describes Nikolay Myaskovsky as “one of the great enigmas of 20th-century Russian music.” Between the two world wars, the symphonies of Myaskovsky enjoyed great popularity and were performed by all major American and European orchestras; they were some of the most inspiring symphonic works of the last hundred years and prolonged the symphonic genre. But accusations of “formalism” at the 1948 USSR Composers Congress resulted in the purposeful neglect of his music until the collapse of the Soviet Union. Myaskovsky wrote some of the most inspiring symphonic works of the last hundred years and prolonged and extended the symphonic genre. In Nikolay Myaskovsky: The Conscience of Russian Music, Tassie gives readers the first modern English-language biography of this Russian composer since his death in 1950. Tassie draws together information from the composer’s diaries and letters, as well as the memoirs of friends and colleagues—even his secret police files—to chronicle Myaskovsky’s early life, subsequent far-reaching influence as a composer, teacher, and journalist, and his final persecution by the Soviet government. This biography will surely rekindle interest in Myaskovsky’s remarkable body of work and will interest aficionados, students, and scholars of the modern classical music tradition and history of the arts in Russia.

Book excerpt: Racial capitalism, invisible but threaded throughout the world, shapes our lives. Focusing on the experiences of white, Black, and Latinx residents of Cincinnati, Sarah Mayorga argues that residents' interpretations of their circumstances, what she calls urban specters, are often partial recognitions of the exploitation and dehumanization produced by racial capitalism. Much scholarly work on racial capitalism has necessarily focused on historical, theoretical, and macro-level accounts. Mayorga takes these vital insights and applies them to two contemporary working-class neighborhoods, centering the lives of working-class and poor people. Using data from interviews with 117 residents, Mayorga maps how racial capitalism creates the everyday harms people know all too well. Chronic underdevelopment, private property, and policing, she shows, have produced these harms. In this enlightening book, Mayorga identifies small windows into abolitionist possibilities that create different types of relations, ones based on care and connection. This is a guide for anyone trying to understand urban inequality, but also more importantly, for how we might create a different world.
