This book was released on 1971 with total page 60 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Results are presented of an experimental investigation to determine the static longitudinal aerodynamic characteristics of a fin with an enlarged tip control and the hinge-moment coefficients of the enlarged tip control. The model was tested at angles of attack from -6 [degree] to 6 [degree] and fin tip control deflections from -20° to 20°. A 1/8-scale model of the Scout first stage, with a tangent ogive nose, was used for these tests. Basic data obtained include the pitching-moment, rolling-moment, and normal-force coefficients of the fin and the hinge-moment coefficient of the enlarged tip control.

Book Synopsis Experimental Surface Pressure Data Obtained on 65 Deg Delta Wing Across Reynolds Number and Mach Number Ranges. Vol. 4 by : National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)
Download or read book Experimental Surface Pressure Data Obtained on 65 Deg Delta Wing Across Reynolds Number and Mach Number Ranges. Vol. 4 written by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2018-07-24 with total page 598 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An experimental wind tunnel test of a 65 deg delta wing model with interchangeable leading edges was conducted in the Langley National Transonic Facility (NTF). The objective was to investigate the effects of Reynolds and Mach numbers on slender-wing leading-edge vortex flows with four values of wing leading-edge bluntness. Experimentally obtained pressure data are presented without analysis in tabulated and graphical formats across a Reynolds number range of 6 x 10(exp 6) to 120 x 10(exp 6) at a Mach number of 0.85 and across a Mach number range of 0.4 to 0.9 at Reynolds numbers of 6 x 10(exp 6) and 60 x 10(exp 6). Normal-force and pitching-moment coefficient plots for these Reynolds number and Mach number ranges are also presented. Chu, Julio and Luckring, James M.
