Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Time-Resolved Vibrational Spectroscopy covers the proceedings of the International Conference on Time-Resolved Vibrational Spectroscopy, convened in Lake Placid, New York on August 16-20, 1982. This book is organized into six sections encompassing 51 chapters. The first section deals with the theoretical and computational developments concerning Raman scattering and two-photon and optical spectroscopies. Section II focuses on the instrumentation and techniques of various time-resolved vibrational spectroscopies (TRVS), such as Raman techniques, stroboscopic interferometry, and infrared multiphoton. Sections III and IV deal with the chemical (ground and excited states) and biochemical systems of TRVS. The concluding sections discuss the theoretical principles and methods of observation of nonlinear Raman spectroscopy and surface-enhanced and colloidal Raman scattering. This book is of value to chemists, spectroscopists, and photobiologists.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Until now, anyone conducting industrial combustion tests had to either rely on old methods, go scurrying through the literature to find proven applicable methodologies, or hire top-shelf consultants such as those that work for cutting-edge companies like John Zink. Manufacturers can no longer take industrial combustion for granted. Air and noise po
Book Synopsis Infrared and Raman Spectroscopy by : Bernhard Schrader
Download or read book Infrared and Raman Spectroscopy written by Bernhard Schrader and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2008-09-26 with total page 807 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is an excellent introduction to vibrational spectroscopy for scientists in academia and industry. Download or read book Combustion Measurements written by Norman Chigier and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2024-11-01 with total page 551 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book begins with an introduction to the general problems of making measurements in high temperature and a presentation of chemically reacting flow systems. It describes each instrument with the various diagnostic techniques and discusses measurements that have been made in furnaces, flames, and rocket engines. The detailed measurement techniques described in this book cover a wide spectrum of applications in combustion systems, including gas turbine, rocket measurement techniques that were developed in laboratories. Information obtained on detailed temperature, velocity, particle size, and gas concentration distribution is leading to improve understanding of the chemical combustion process and to design imporvements in combustors.

Book Synopsis Development of High-temperature Strain Gages by : J. W. Pitts
Download or read book Development of High-temperature Strain Gages written by J. W. Pitts and published by . This book was released on 1961 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A summary is presented of a research program aimed at the improvement of high-temperature strain gages of the electrical resistance type. Potential ceramic and metal components were evaluated and a gage was devised that was based on these evaluations. This gage (NBS 5B) was flexible and easy to install; however, it lacked resistance stability at higher temperatures. In an attempt to minimize this deficiency, ceramic cements were developed that showed greater electrical resistivity than had been previously observed in the range 800 to 1800 degrees Fahrenheit; also, a technique was devised for increasing the resistance to ground by applying a fired-on ceramic coating to the grid of a specifically developed unbacked gage. A study was made of the cause of the erratic response of cemented gages that had not been preheated prior to use. There were strong indications that the erratic response was caused mostly by the rapid decrease in resistance that accompanied structural changes in the cement.
