Apart from presenting research results with strong pedagogical implications on online or blended English language learning and teaching, the book also trains educators on utilizing online tools and managing online learning environments and platforms.

Book Synopsis Delivering a Preparatory Course for The Cambridge Firts Certificate in English Examination by Using the Ingenio E-Learning Platform by :
Download or read book Delivering a Preparatory Course for The Cambridge Firts Certificate in English Examination by Using the Ingenio E-Learning Platform written by and published by Ediciones Universidad de Salamanca. This book was released on 2011-03-24 with total page 22 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis Grammatical Change in English World-Wide by : Peter Collins
Download or read book Grammatical Change in English World-Wide written by Peter Collins and published by John Benjamins Publishing Company. This book was released on 2015-02-24 with total page 496 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The contributions to this volume apply and extend the techniques of corpus linguistics and diachronic linguistics to the challenge of describing and explaining grammatical change in varieties of English world-wide. The book is divided into two parts, with ten chapters on ‘Inner Circle’ varieties such as Australian, Canadian, and Irish English, and eight on ‘Outer Circle’ varieties such as Philippine, Indian, and Nigerian English. Contributors examine a range of topics including the progressive aspect, modal auxiliaries, do-support, verb morphology, and quotatives, using a wide variety of corpus resources. Overarching research questions addressed include the following: Do diachronic tendencies observed in a particular variety converge with, diverge from, or run in parallel with, those in the parent variety? What are the possible causes of changes observed (e.g. English teaching traditions, Americanisation, internal changes in registers)? This book will appeal to linguists, particularly those interested in grammatical description, corpus linguistics and World Englishes.

Book Synopsis Joint Implementation to Curb Climate Change by : Onno J. Kuik
Download or read book Joint Implementation to Curb Climate Change written by Onno J. Kuik and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is about joint implementation. It addresses legal, economic and institutional questions which should be taken into account in setting up joint implementation projects and in developing criteria for joint implementation under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (FCCC). First, however, before going into any detail, we shall briefly sketch the background, quoting Daniel Bodansky: 'Each year, mankind injects approximately six billion tons of carbon into the atmosphere from the burning of fossil fuels, as well as a substantial (although still uncertain) amount from deforestation. Since the advent of the industrial revolution, atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide have risen by more than twenty five percent, from 280 to more than 350 parts per million. Scientists estimate that if current patterns of emissions continue unchecked, the increasing concentrations of carbon dioxide, together with parallel increases in other trace gases such as methane and nitrous oxide, will cause an average global warming in the range of 0. 2 to 0. 5 °C per decade, or 2 to 5 oc by the end of the next century. Such a temperature rise, more rapid than at any time in human history, could have severe effects on coastal areas, agriculture, forests 1 and human health. ' In recent years there has been growing awareness of the extent of the damage done to the world's environment through unsustainable patterns of development.
